This three bedroom, two bath oceanside home is bursting with charm and personality. Colorful with a "nautical" theme decor, the Happy Parrot boasts an open common living space that includes a full kitchen with a seated bar, a separate dining area, and a comfortable family room with a large television. Adjacent to this area is a beautiful sunroom, well-appointed for you to enjoy a quiet place with your morning coffee or simply as a respite from the day's activities. South Nags Head is one of the most popular vacation areas on the Outer Banks. Easy and Convenient

Great set up for a multigenerational getaway and easy access to the beach, which was the whole purpose of our visit. But also a convenient location to get up to the dunes or to many of the local spots for BBQ or steamed shrimp. Had some issues during check in and once during the stay and the management company was very responsive, apologetic, and helpful. Could have been cleaner, but we made it work.

Happy Parrot Review

This house was a nice location with a short walk to the beach. A quick drive to shopping and restaurants. Beach equipment needs updated. Chairs were old and some broke on us. There was no beach umbrella. It had a nice collection of sand toys and shovels along with a wagon to carry your gear. Overall, we enjoyed our stay and would stay again.

It's well-appointed and well-stocked. Location is across the street from the beach making it very convenient. The area is quiet, away from all the shops and restaurants. The interior is starting to show a little wear and the carpet is loaded with sandspurs (laminate floors throughout would be great) but certainly not deal-breakers. I reported a few maintenance items, including a broken washing machine--which need attention.

Not thrilled with Roku for TV--need to include some instructions. Also, there is an apparent ongoing ant issue in the kitchen. Need some cabinet space for guest groceries. Apprecicated staff accommodating my request to not have to come to the office to receive entry code and response to a maintenance issue. Would rent this home again.

Our initial impression was not good as cleaning was sub par which was addressed. Also TV's were old but we eventually figured the streaming services (good). We liked the freshly painted interior and decorations, very cheery and bright. Beds ok, comforable. Location was good although slightly farther to shopping than previous stays HP is closer to Manteo and Lightouse beaches and harbor. Our third property in 3 years and the best of the 3. Overall we would stay here again.

Contained all the amenities we were expecting. Washer/dryer, outside shower a huge plus and full kitchen. Location was close to walking trails, bike routes, restaurants and more. Easy access to beach was amazing. Carolina shires took care of a minor issue we encountered professionally & were right there for us. We’ll be booking again next year, couldn’t be happier

Cute place but it shows age and has an ant problem

Cute place. It has 3 good sized bedrooms, provides beach toys and gear, and is walkable to the beach (about 7 minutes). Having a washer dryer and outdoor shower was also plus. It’s also a short drive from many local attractions. Unfortunately, it is outdated and not the cleanest. The appliances are older and the carpet and sofa show a lot of wear. There’s a serious ant problem in the kitchen and the ant traps we bought did not help. This made us feel uncomfortable whenever it came time to prep food or cook. The carpet and sheets were not very clean when we arrived, and it seems they rely on guests to do a lot of cleaning before check out (including cleaning dishes, counters, vacuuming, sweeping). Maybe the cleaning crew then skips those tasks? We were also surprised to learn that they don’t provide toilet paper, hand soap, paper towels, cleaning products, and other basics that you expect to find at a vrbo rental. The listing should say that upfront. Interestingly, there was aluminum foil, plastic wrap, sandwich bags and paper plates, which is we found super useful. Overall, our stay was ok, but we would not go back unfortunately.

Precious Memories with Family

This house is filled with sunshine, cheerful and calming colors, and a simple, breezy beaxh house decor. The beach is only a short few minute walk away:)! There is so much room in this home and everything was so clean. The living room has VERY comfy couches and each of the bedrooms are cozy and beautiful. The kitchen is fully stocked, and the fridge has a decent amount of room! Both bathrooms were meticulously clean, and the master bathroom with the walk in shower was so nice! The outdoor shower is below deck, and is large and has hot water, and the adjacent laundry room has beach games and a wagon for easy transport. The rental company made check in easy, and they provided some additional things like toilet paper, dish washer detergent, and laundry soap. our family is looking forward to staying here again:)!

It's right across the street from the beach with a private beach access. The house is exactly what we were hoping for in a beach vacation! It's decorated in fun beachy colors and furnishings. The kitchen was well equipped and there's a nice BBQ for use outside. The beds are comfy and were all made for us with fresh sheets on our arrival. A REAL PLUS!! There's a full size washer and dryer that came in very handy... Sand toys provided.... Walking distance to the pier..We loved our stay and hope to come back!:)
