A perfect place to unwind for a weekend, enjoy the outdoors and explore all that the beautiful Driftless region has to offer. Classic Arts & Crafts bungalow with colorful finishes, well-stocked kitchen, and relaxing front porch and sunroom. Downtown Wonewoc is just blocks away with several bars, coffee and ice cream parlor and even fine dining. The “400”bike trail and Baraboo River pass directly through town. Opportunities abound for hiking/biking/canoeing or just exploring the countryside. The space This is a 110 year old Craftsman bungalow in a peaceful, rural small town setting. The house has a mix of original woodwork and fixtures with some newer restoration and finishes that preserve the character of the home.
Note: The house has Wi-Fi set up! Depending on your cell provider, signal outside can be spotty in this area - US cellular seems to be best but I’ve also been okay with T-Mobile. Generally calls/texts are fine but phone internet is hit and miss.
In other words: I realize this may not be ideal for every traveler! If the description above sounds like a charming base to relax and explore some roads less traveled, please be in touch about booking! Those seeking a more modern accommodation or to be right in the middle of the bustle of the Dells (about 30-40 minutes away) may be more satisfied with other fantastic options in the area.
I like to be in touch with guests to provide personalized recommendations about local exploring, food, shopping, and further details about the house - I look forward to your inquiries. Guest access You’re welcome to the whole main floor of the house (bedroom(s), bathroom, dining room, living room, sunroom, front porch and patio.) I’ll communicate prior to check in about your sleeping arrangements to make sure bedding and towels are ready. Kitchen has a range of cookware, oils and vinegars and spices, cooking/baking tools etc. Please communicate if you have extensive kitchen plans so that we can be sure to clean and check stock of supplies.
The attic, basement, and garage are off limits to guests at this time. (For longer stays, we can discuss basement access for laundry.)

We loved the house! Eclectic and unique, while staying comfortable and cozy. The beds were comfortable and everything was well appointed. Isaac was friendly and easy to talk to, checked in with us before the stay. We will stay again!
Great spot. Older quaint house but fit all of our needs
Issac was a pleasure to work with assisting us in getting in early for a wedding in the area. The property was clean and furnished well. All of the items of the listing were accurate and first rate. If you are looking for a quiet rural Wi area to relax in this is it.
ELATED to be able to stay at my grandparents’ home in Wonewoc again (they owned the house for over 65 years). As a child (and only the granddaughter), I spent summers there swinging on the porch swing with my grandpa while he sang, “You are My Sunshine,” to me…Catching turtles in the creek, trying on my grandma’s trendy clothing from the 1930’s in the attic, feeding my grandpa’s fish in the spring-fed well (basement), etc. It was (and still is) a very magical place. Isaac Silver did an outstanding job restoring my grandparents’ home to its original beauty…His creativity and ingenuity have created a super special place for all…We will be making annual trips back to this cozy, beautiful, and very special place!
