My family has rented homes during Spring Break for over a decade from California to Canada, and this home has the best outdoor space by far! The provided kayaks and paddle boards were taken out numerous times each day. The views, outdoor seating, hottub, firepits, and fenced yard are perfect for family fun and bonding. Oyster harvesting was easy, and provided delicious meals after being cooked on the barbeque! The kitchen is super well stocked, there are plenty of spaces to sleep, and the large dining table made it easy to play family games in the evening. Communication couldn't have been easier or friendlier with the host. Being pet-friendly is a bonus as well.

Liked: Cleanliness, location, listing accuracy
Disliked: Communication
Our experience was frustrating. Before arrival, the host required me to send ID through Vrbo messages before providing the check-in passcode. This did not match my understanding of Vrbo’s standard booking process, and I was uncomfortable being asked to send full ID details directly to the host. I had to ask to remove my date of birth. I also had to remind the host the day before arrival to send check-in instructions. When we arrived, some dining chairs already had damage at the top. We did not damage the dining set or the security lock during our stay. The host also did not contact us after checkout to ask about or explain any alleged damage. We were therefore surprised to later receive a property damage claim for those items, which raised serious concerns about the basis of the claim.Because of the check-in communication issues, the ID request, the pre-existing chair damage, and the later damage claim for items we did not damage, I would not stay here again.

We require ID as part of the booking verification process and guest didn’t read the rules then complained about it. Guest broke our dining chair, and broke the sliding door lock, without informing us, so we submitted the claim to the insurance for reimbursement, and immediately she left us this negative review! This is a retaliatory review. We would not host again and would not recommend her to any host!
This is our second time to this beautiful place. The view of the water always gives us peace. We saw lots of sea life, went kayaking in the bay, and enjoyed time with the family. The main level worked great for our power wheelchair. The house was dog pet friendly as well. The host was quick with replies, and tried to fix any issues we had. Town is further away (20-30 mins) so we cooked everything at the house. The kitchen had essentials. The entry to the property is a little steep so if you have a low profile vehicle you will hit bottom. We always enjoy our time here.

Why they chose this property
Tahuya is situated between the Hood Canal and Tahuya State Forest. This area is a top choice for fishing and boating as well as mountain biking, and hiking. The 23,000-acre working Tahuya State Forest draws over 200K visitors a year to its verdant hillsides replete with winding trails. It's one of the best places in Hood Canal for motorsports and mountain biking while serving up breathtaking views of the water and the Olympics. Staying overnight in Tahuya is typically a fjord-side affair and almost always includes shellfishing.
