Step out onto a sandy beach from your back door lanai in Anahola Bay, Kaua'i. We provide beach towels, beach chairs, beach umbrella and a small cooler for your use during your stay. Accommodates up to 6 guests, including children and infants.

This lovely 1,400 square ft. Kaua`i vacation rental beach cottage has 3 bedrooms and 2.5 bath all on a beautiful sandy beach.
Primary bedroom has a new Cal-king bed with private bath, TV, and is situated on the ocean side of the house with a lanai door for easy beach combing access.

Second bedroom has a queen bed and shares the guest bath with 3rd bedroom that has 2 twin beds (can be converted to a king for additional fee).
Full kitchen, dishwasher, complimentary high speed internet access, Cable TV, washer & dryer compliment this charming beach home right on serene Anahola Bay.

Hale Makai beachfront property location is easy driving to Waimea, Poipu, Lihue, Kapa`a to the east or Kilauea, Hanalei, Anini, Princeville and Haena to the north. Watch the moon rise and stars at night from your beachfront property!

Ocean views of beautiful Anahola Bay from your living, dining area, outdoor lanai and master bedroom. Take a sunset, sunrise or moon rise walk along beautiful crescent shaped Anahola Bay. You may even find a glass ball! Whales can be seen off shore from November through April. Outdoor shower provided for you!

Kalalea Mountain where the filming of "Raiders of the Lost Ark" is right in your neighborhood.
Gas BBQ grill, beach chairs, cooler, beach umbrella and beach towels are provided.

Additional Information: A security deposit is required for your stay, ensuring our home is kept in top shape for all guests. This deposit is fully refundable upon a successful checkout inspection.

Beautiful location

The beach front location was lovely and peaceful. We enjoyed watching the stunning sunrises/sunsets right in the backyard. The house had everything we needed and was a good central location for adventuring around the island.

Relaxed on the beach

The house is the perfect location if you want a quiet beach. The outside patio is the best spot to have a glass of wine during a quick rain. We had a beautiful time here and really enjoyed it. The location makes it easy to get to bigger towns but still away enough it didn’t feel crowded.

The property and location are perfect. The house has everything you need and more. The communication with the property management company is smooth and very responsive. The office checked in halfway through our visit to ask how things were going; we have never experienced that communication with any company previously. We plan to return to this property.

Perfect Paradise

This was our 1st time at this property and it surely won't be our last! It is a lovely home in the most beautiful, private setting. The amenities are great and the sight and sounds a bit of heaven on earth. Being able to walk on a quiet beach, eat all our meals sitting on lanai while watching the sun rise, moon rise and then be able to hop on the car and head North or 10 minutes to town for a bit of shopping. Already planning our next trip!

This was the perfect rental! The house was clean, well maintained & in the PERFECT location!

Pictures do not do Hale Makai justice! We were only steps away from the beach. The property is completely secluded by the lush landscape & trees, which also made great shade while relaxing in the Adirondack chairs or hammock. We had a sandy beach just steps below the small hill. My parents are in their 70’s & had no problems getting down to the water. There was a reef surrounding the area which made for calm waves & easy swimming & snorkeling . The location is the best. We were only about 20 minutes from the nearest town, but had the privacy that made us feel as if we had Kauai all to ourselves. The house was well kept, clean & roomy. It was truly paradise found! We loved our stay there & will never forget it!

Very clean and comfortable, right on the beach, centrally located between Kapaa Town and Princeville/North Shore, with all the amenities you would need for a relaxing Hawaiian vacation. The beach gear (chairs, umbrella, beach towels, cooler) came in very handy and we enjoyed bbqing on the grill out back, lounging in the backyard overlooking the ocean, having meals or coffee on the back lanai, morning walks down the road and on the beach. Do not look any further, this property will not disappoint and is a new family favorite. We will be back!

The beach is wonderful for swimming and snorkeling and just sitting and watching the whales breach. We had a monk seal down the beach, lots of fun in the river down the beach a bit, and very private and quiet. The beach chairs, cooler, toys and boogie boards were very helpful and were perfect! The kitchen had all we needed and more! We never used the AC- the breezes and fans were all we needed- it was perfect. Everything was well maintained and up to date and worked. We booked next year already.

We had a wonderful stay at hale makai over the holidays. They place was wonderful and quaint...perfect for my 19yo and 15 yo...as well as my wife abd I. The evening breezes were wonderful as was the location..private yet close enough to the things you wanted. The property manager was awesome...we suuffered from a few mechanical breakdowns.. washing machine and dishwasher. Same day service was provided in spite of the holidays. The repair man was great...expedient, prompt and knowledgeable. The manger had a new dishwasher installed riggt away. House was pretty well appointed for us although knives could have been better...they had plenty of spices, condiments and other nacoutrements to make our stay comfortable while minimizing the need to make "emergency" trips to the grocery store. Thanks again, the stay was wonderful.

The clean beach front home had a fully equipped kitchen along with some cooking spices. The house was well supplied with bedding, towels, shampoo, beach chairs and cooler. The washer and dryer were a bonus. It was a great location to explore the center to the north of the island. The check in/ check out procedures were very detailed and easy to follow and any questions were answered in a timely manner. The best part of this house was being able to walk outside your back door to an almost private beach for daily sunrises, long walks and watching ghost crabs. At first we were concerned about the a/c only available in the bedrooms, but found that using the dehumidifier and leaving the windows closed in the main part of the house on humid days to be comfortable. We enjoyed the non touristy area, the natural beauty, the trails, the neighbors and smoothies at Moala Sunrise Juice Bar. We would highly recommend

Idyllic Beach front Retreat

There are a few bars, restaurants and shops.We recommend Hemingway's Cafe and the Ocean View Bar.The island is very green and beautiful. There is also plenty of activities. We kayaked and hiked, zip lined and tooka helicopter ride with Island Helicopters.Perfect for surfing and the sea is beautifully warmAlso worth taking a day visit to Pearl Harbour on theneighbouring island of Oahu. Lots of flights withHawaiian Airways (20 mins).We had the best family holiday and have lots oflovely memories.We would thoroughly recommend this fantastic house.Would love to come back one day.ALOHA The Warrens

Beautiful ocean view through the dirty windows

Rating Details: The property manager was adequately helpful. The vacation rental was somewhat dirty. I was happy with the location. I was somewhat dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Property needs to be cleaned throughly inside and outside. All the windows and screens were cakeda ml with dust and dirty. The ceiling fans are all completely dirty, left over food was found between the couch and Coffee table. Towels were wet and folded nicely. The location is beautiful and views of the ocean amazing. I questioned why almost everything outside was chained and locked outside and every window had wooden dowels until someone came onto the property and stole personal belongings from the backyard and tossed the ladder that was leaning against a palm tree into the bushes near by and anything not chained together. There is a homeless camp a few houses down to the left and a large homeless camp on Anahola bay beach to the right, Read the reviews of that beach. The management offered to have the house cleaned but I prefer to check into somewhere clean before I arrive and not have to have it cleaned while I’m there. After notifying them of things going missing and things being tossed about in the backyard, They suggested I use all the window dowels at night to be safe... and to make a police report. Not something you want to do while on vacation. I cannot recommend this location my wife was scared to leave, worried about sleeping at night. If things weren’t stolen, the house was cleaned, and homeless camps weren’t on either side I would stay again.

Aloha from Kauai

From the moment we stepped in the front door, we felt relaxed and at peace. The house was lovely. It was great that the house supplied many amenities. The resident pets (chickens) were fun to watch. The location of the house was in a quiet neighborhood which made it enjoyable to just sit on the beach. One suggestion would be to trim the shrubs on the dune so that you can see over them while sitting in the chairs.
