About Cathy Meek
Growing up in Austin when it was just a small city, the countryside was just minutes away. Then came Austin sprawl, and crazy traffic! We purchased the land outside Smithville in 2006, and slowly our little slice of heaven evolved into the Rocking M Ranch (RMR). These days the property is shared with visitors from all over that come to enjoy a true country getaway.
Cathy Meek purchased this House in 2010
Why Cathy Meek chose Smithville
The Rocking M Ranch is located in Bastrop County outside the City of Smithville and is in the heart of Central Texas, and three major cities. It is less than 1 hour from Austin, 2 hours from Houston, and 1 1/2 hours from San Antonio. The RMR is perfect for an overnight stay or in conjunction with hosting a special wedding or event.
What makes this House unique

We loved staying here!! Place was very roomy and nice. Cathy was very nice and helpful for what ever we needed, she even made brownies for us upon arriving.
Southern charm and genuine hospitality at it's finest!!!
What a truly magnificent slice of heaven just outside Smithville! We had the pleasure of getting to know Cathy.. and the amazing property at the "Rocking-R-Ranch!!" Attention to detail at it's finest and the true feeling of being totally secluded and peace off the grid! The house and the entire property was perfect! We enjoyed the hot tub, the pool, the lights outback, the grill, and the bonfire pit available!! Cathy was the best and was available at moments notice! We arrived to a fresh batch of brownies and to a remarkably clean county home!! To say the least, our stay was a "Bachelor Party," so guys only... and boy we all felt the same way!!!! Horseshoes, Spike-Ball, Washers, Corn-hole, Viking Bowling, Golfing... we did it all!!! Thanks for everything Cathy! We'll be back!!!!
We come every year for a getaway , we never leave the property. The house is wonderful, the pool relaxing and the we enjoy ourselves every time ! Cathy always makes us feel welcome :)
Ya'll are the perfect guests and so thoughtful. Makes me so happy you enjoy the property and come back year after year. I truly appreciate you and your patronage. See you in 2019.
Could not have been better!
Cathy did a great job accommodating our large group. Awesome property. The weekend was better than we could have imagined and owe that to her and her beautiful place.
We always have a great time here
This property is perfect. It is always super clean with plenty of beds and things to do (pool, hottub, pool table/ping pong table, fire pit, tv, screened in back porch, front porch swing). Great mix of fun and relaxation. Cathy (the owner) is great to work with as well. We have stayed here several times now and plan to keep coming back.
Beautiful property, excellent hosts
This is a lovely, comfortable property with generous, welcoming, accommodating hosts. We had a group here for New Year's Eve, and there was just the right mix of common spaces for hanging out and bedrooms to get away. The hosts were around often to help with the hot tub and similar. We also really liked nearby Smithville and being out in the gorgeous Texas countryside. Thanks!
