About Clearwater Cabin
We live in NYC and needed an escape from the hectic life amongst concrete, so after years of searching we bought this stunning cabin property. Shortly thereafter life took over as it tends to do! We were moved abroad, and we want to share this lovely place with others in need of the serenity it gave us :) We are happy to share it with you!
Clearwater Cabin purchased this House in 2014
Why Clearwater Cabin chose Livingston Manor
This property is a unique blend of indoor creature comforts and outdoor nature at its best. The cabin is casual, you don't feel nervous coming in wet or sandy, but its also finished more upscale than most catskill properties. We also provide as many amenities as possible, so that guests can arrive with as little as they would pack for a hotel stay. The outdoor property is not overly manicured, we left it a bit wild and rustic to really be able to feel being in the natural outdoors. We love that kids can play around the house in the front or back lawn, also in the woods (where all the best adventures happen!) or by/in the lake. These various outdoor environments help them to never bore of being outside, much more entertaining than a single manicured lawn. The lake itself is unique as well - it is small and does not allow motor sports, so the quiet clean water is particularly nice for kids swimming. This lake is spring fed (=VERY clean water) with a sandy bottom instead of a muddy bottom. Our property borders a very shallow section of lake edge, so the depth is between 1-4ft for about 15 yards out into the water before it slopes to a nearly 50 foot max depth. So kids can easily & safely play at our waters edge no matter what age... its perfect for toddlers to splash around while standing safely.

Gorgeous autumn weekend
We stayed in this house with 10 adults and 4 kids and had more than enough space. The layout is perfect for families with kids. The cabin feel inside with the large stone fireplace and comfortable furniture really added to the experience. The colors of the changing leaves on the lake was a beautiful sight and we took many walks down there. We visited the Buck Brook Alpaca Farm, the Catskills Brewery and took a ride to Bethel Woods. All within 30 minutes of the house and so fun! We will definitely be visiting again and would recommend this house to anyone. The owner was so responsive to our questions before our trip and made sure we had everything we needed. Thank you!
Thank you for staying with us Nicole! We are so happy you enjoyed yourselves and we'd love to have you back again anytime - you were great guests :)
Great Spot for a Family Getaway
Clearwater Cabin is a fantastic place to get away for a long weekend or extended stay. We had a family get-together of 10 adults, 4 kids, and a dog and the house was spacious, clean, and cozy. The property is also beautiful and well-maintained - from the tiered lawn and fire pit (with incredibly generous stacks of fresh wood!) to the private path leading to the clear lake, where there are kayaks, a row boat, and paddle board for use. The communication with the owner Lauren and property manager Alan were excellent as well - they were helpful with suggestions for activities and responsive to any questions or concerns - even something as simple as the coffee maker needing to be replaced was accommodated for in just a couple of hours. My family had a wonderful time and would stay here again!
Thank you John! we loved having you - hope to see you back again soon :)
Longstanding Favorite, It gets better every stay!
My family had a great last minute stay, we have been lucky to stay here before and find more to enjoy with each return! There are so many great outdoor activities, restaurants, bars & shops to visit in this area we never grow tired of visiting. The owners are always accommodating, we can't wait to come back when the snow has fallen :)
Thank you! We always love having your family - please do come back soon!
A wonderful property, run by wonderful people! A great time had by all!
Thank you Chaim! We loved having you and hope that you are able to make it back again soon :) Thanks for being great guests!
Serenity and sanity
My family and I really enjoyed the peace and quiet of the property. We had fun filled sunny days on the lake and roasted marshmallows and enjoyed the game room downstairs. The house exceeded our expectations and Lauren was quick to respond to every email in a timely fashion. We will definitely stay here again.
Thanks for being great guests & we would love to have you back! Enjoy the rest of these summer days and we look forward to hearing from you soon :)
We had a very peaceful stay in this beautiful cabin. Kayaking on the crystal clear lake was so enjoyable and relaxing - oftentimes we were the only family on the lake! We enjoyed the campfire and reading on the spacious deck. And the rain storm didn't even hamper our fun, since we were able to enjoy some family game time in the basement. Plenty of room for everyone, even our pets.
I'm so glad you enjoyed your stay Lorri! Thanks for being great guests, we'd love to have you back anytime :)
