About this property
A historic Lakeshore Cottage across from Douglas Beach!
This darling, 2-story beach cottage is just a few hundred feet from the entrance to Douglas Beach and the shores of Lake Michigan. An unbeatable location and proximity to the area’s limitless recreational activities make Sundown Cottage the perfect cottage for your next getaway or family vacation. Spend days splashing in the Lake Michigan waters, hiking the dunes, and shopping/dining in downtown Douglas (less than a mile away). Then head back to the cottage and enjoy a spectacular sunset from the expansive front porch.
Entering this rustic lake cottage will take many guests back to the days of their youth.
The downstairs features a living area with a wood burning fireplace and Apple TV for your enjoyment and relaxation. The kitchen has a simple but efficient layout for preparing food with a large fridge and pantry. A full bath with a shower/tub is located around the corner, and a laundry area with a washer and dryer. Beach towels are provided and available for your use.
The upstairs has four bedrooms. The two main bedrooms have queen beds, including a dresser and closet. The two front bedrooms both have two twin beds in each room (the bunkbed shown is now two twin beds). Both front bedrooms have closets. There is new carpet going up the stairs and in two bedrooms with twin beds. There is a full bath with a shower at the end of the hall for everyone’s use. Towels and linens are supplied.
The front porch is a favorite place for guests to relax. It expands across the front of the house and has more than enough seating for guests to comfortably enjoy the view.
The back of the cottage has a Solo stove fire pit, a picnic table, and a new Weber gas grill which is provided for your use. Need a separate space to quietly work or have a guest that likes space for themselves? The Bunkhouse is available for an extra fee. Please inquire before booking.
Daily walks down the Lakeshore are a dreamy experience. The walk is two miles of gorgeous sand bluffs overlooking the lake. A beautiful stretch of historic lakeside road to walk, run and ride bikes.
