Paul's Place-Private Mountain House, Pocono Mtn, near Jim Thorpe, Blue Mountain

Retreat to a peaceful getaway atop the scenic Pocono Mountains. Take an early morning stroll with a steaming cup of coffee surrounding yourself with nature on a private trail through the woods. Explore the local sites such as the historic town of Jim Thorpe, white water rafting in the summer, or Blue Mountain Resort for winter and summer activities. Return to your home away from home with the comfort of a cozy fireplace in the winter, and a temperature controlled heat and air conditioning to provide a comfortable stay regardless of the time of year. The house provides the convenience of Wi-Fi and access to log into your choice of streaming services, or the perfect place to unplug.

This chalet style home can comfortably sleep up to 6 people . The main floor includes two bedrooms (one with a Queen bed and one with a Double bed) and a full bathroom with a shower. The second floor includes a master bedroom (Queen bed and a full bathroom with a shower), along an open loft area with a double futon bed to allow for flexible sleeping arrangements..

The main floor is open with a double story family room area including a gas fireplace, Wi-Fi enabled TV, and DVD player. The family room flows into a small kitchen with a refrigerator/freezer, electric stove, sink, microwave, and a Keurig (note there is not a dishwasher). The main floor provides access to a deck with a view of the woods and pond.

The loft area includes a futon double fold out bed, Wi-Fi enabled TV, and PlayStation.
Basic internet service/ Wi-Fi is provided via HughesNet.

There is an unfinished basement that includes laundry facilities (washer and dryer).

The property includes a small fish pond (no swimming or fishing in pond) and a wide private path through the woods for nature walks where you may encounter deer, turkey, and squirrels.

There is a circular driveway with parking comfortably accommodating four vehicles.

Minutes from conveniences such as Walmart, Lowes, fast food restaurants, gas stations, and Giant as well as many local restaurants with a variety of cuisines. And pizza delivery available from our favorite pizza spot!

Great spot in the woods

We stayed there to cycle thru the Lehigh Gorge and see a concert outside Jim Thorpe. It's a perfect place to stay to enjoy all the region has to offer.

Our stay was absolutely amazing! It was me the hubby and 2 other couples to help celebrate my husbands Birthday. The place had extra amenities. Nestled away, Peaceful and serene, but yet still close to things. We prdered pizza and subs as well as cooked.The sound of the pond water so soothing to the ears as you sit on the deck. You can feed the beautiful Koi fish. so much thought was put into this place. Will definitely come to stay again.

Blue Mountain skiing

My wife and I stayed here with four college aged children. Skied at Blue Mountain two days. The house was great - as advertised and enjoyable. Communication was great. Definitely recommend!

Pauls Place is a Great Place

Secluded, cozy house that was perfect for a long weekend getaway. Appreciated the very clean house. It’s a short drive to Jim Thorpe and local wineries and then back to a peaceful, quiet setting. The owners are responsive and clearly want to make sure their guests are happy. The homage and background story about Paul was inspiring and a nice touch. Will definitely stay here again!

Great rental home

We were only in town with friends overnight, but decided to rent a house instead of hotels so that we could enjoy more time together. Paul’s place did not disappoint! The house is very clean and well appointed. The beds were comfortable. The owner supplied everything we could need for our time there. We were near enough to area attractions without being right on top of a neighbor. Great place for a family gathering or friend's weekend. We’d definitely stay again when we are in the area.

Great house, very accurate description on Vrbo, well supplied in all necessities, especially bathrooms and the kitchen are stuffed up, very clean and comfortable.Located in very secluded area with no people around, but close enough to stores, restaurants and state park. Within 15 minutes drive to Jim Thorpe and all its attractions.I would definitely recommend it to all my friends and probably rent it again in the future.Sophie & friends.

BEAUTIFUL!

The pictures do not do this house, nor the property justice!! Absolutely Gorgeous!! Loved how far back the house sets off the road. You have such a beautiful view from every window in the house. My SIL and nephew went for a walk early in the morning and said it was breathtaking. If you love nature it's a must! The house was spotless and every room had such detail. It was warm and cozy from the moment we stepped in. They have everything you will need for your stay for ALL AGES and more!! They were so attentive and responsive which made us feel like family. We definitely plan to come back! It is a hidden gem for sure!!

The accomdations were fantastic... beyond our expectations. The host was very communicative and helpful with our questions. There was many inside and outside activites available at the property. It was super peaceful and we saw wildlife daily. I would highly recommend this place.

Paul’s Place was our last stop on our drive from Texas to Connecticut for our oldest son’s wedding. This place did not disappoint! Everything was absolutely perfect and amazing! Communication with Greg was so easy. I never had to wait for a response he was very on top of things. This will definitely be a go to for a family vacation in the future. Seeing all the wildlife was beautiful as well!

The property is beautiful, peaceful and the perfect way to spend your time up there. We came up for a bachelorette trip and it was the most serene and peaceful place to be. Our bride to be was beyond happy and enjoyed her room as well as how close we were to the sunflower festival and how many games we could play at the house.

This is a first class spot! It is very out of the way and so very peaceful. The house is perfectly appointed and the owner is so kind and communicates everything you would need to know. “Paul’s Place” is a wonderful getaway!

Excellent all around!!

My wife and I stayed at Paul's Place for 3 nights. The house is located in a very private/quiet location, surrounded by woods. The host, Greg, was very helpful and supplied us with all the information we needed for our stay. Our only disappointment came when it was time to leave this beautiful home. We wish we could have stayed longer. We will definitely stay here again next time we are in the Jim Thorpe area.

Mountain peace

My sisters and I wanted a place to meet that was half way between them and us. We found Paul’s Place! It was perfect! There were six of us, three couples. We brought games, but there are games there. The fish pond was fabulous and just so cool to be by. Walking on the paths was wonderful, we were treated by birds singing! We were hoping to see a bear, no luck, but lots of deer in the woods! It rained on day one, but we were fine! The house is well equipped, and it was very clean. The property manager was ready, willing and able to help when we needed it! The history of Paul’s Place is very moving.

Another great stay at Paul’s Place

We are repeat guests. It was wonderful to return to Paul’s Place and see that it is still as clean, well organized, welcoming, and new, as it was when we were visitors during their first year of operations,. We loved the tranquility of the location, the comfortable beds and other furnishings and the inviting living spaces. Communication with the owners was easy and very pleasant.
