Charming and cozy, Trail’s End is uniquely positioned in one of the most beautiful corners of the Galena Territory. It is a perfect spot to quietly reflect or celebrate any and every occasion with family or friends. Enjoy a wooded view off the back deck while delighting in a glass of wine. Wildlife abounds! From every vantage point you can often see deer strolling through or wild turkey stopping by for a snack. Colorful birds of many types are impossible to miss in the trees and as they dine from the feeder!

Our comfortable home features 3 bedrooms and 3 full baths each located on a separate floor perfect for evening privacy. The main floor offers a bedroom (with queen bed) and bath, comfortable gathering area with an inviting stone fireplace, sunroom, and kitchen and dining area. The large outdoor deck is the perfect place to begin to unwind and start your visit. The upper level features a private bedroom (with a queen bed) and bath suite. The lower level hosts the third bedroom (with a king bed) and bath along with a regulation pool table, satellite TV, stereo, and entrance to the screened-in porch and hot tub. What better way to soothe yourself after a long day of activities or sightseeing?!

If it is sports you are looking for you don’t have to go very far! The Galena Territory offers the best golf in the state if Illinois! Rather be fishing? No problem, Lake Galena is only a short drive through the spectacular scenery of the Territory. You can rent a boat and be reeling them in within minutes! If you prefer hiking, horseback riding, swimming, tennis, volleyball, basketball, hot air ballooning, star gazing, or any number of other exciting activities you won’t have to go very far!

The historic town of Galena offers even more golf, downhill skiing and snowboarding, luge rides, historical tours and moped tours, wining and dining, antiquing and boutiquing, spa experiences, sightseeing trolley rides, museums, and the list goes on…

Cross the mighty Mississippi into nearby Dubuque Iowa and even more experiences await! Try your luck at riverboat casino gambling, do some intense cave exploring, meander through beautiful art galleries, check out the National Mississippi River Museum & Aquarium, and enjoy restaurants of all ethnicities. The property was excellent a beautiful home. Decorated so cute. Beds were very comfortable. Kitchen well equipped with everything you need. Host was the Best she was so easy to work with. She cares for her customers in every way. The only comment I would make is this house is better for a younger group than 80 year old women.

This house was perfect for our group of six (3 couples). Each couple had their own bedroom & bathroom which was great! We enjoyed grilling, sitting on the deck with the fire pit and especially the hot tub! We were far enough but close enough to downtown Galena and other attractions we wanted to see. We liked the location was a little secluded so you felt you had privacy and could just relax and enjoy yourselves without bothering the neighbors. Ginger provided great communication and informed us of things to do in the area. Thank you for a much needed relaxing getaway!

We had a great time staying at this property, the check-in process was easy and the property was better than described. You can tell that lots of thought was put into the property, including amenities and furniture. This doesn't feel like a vacation property, this is a property with quality furniture, decorations, and comfortable linens. The layout of the house is nice, everyone has plenty of room to hang out in common spaces, yet each room is completely separated. There is a shuttle service that takes you from the house to the downtown area which was really convenient and easy to use. We will definitely be back.

It was the perfect place for a long family weekend. The cabin was ideal, so nice and in a great location. Close enough to anywhere you wanted to go but secluded enough for just the right amount of privacy. We enjoyed the deck, fire table and the hot tub multiple times. What a wonderful way to end the day. The beds were absolutely comfortable, We had everything we needed to grill, make breakfast and open the wine. I would highly recommend both the cabin and the host. Ginger was exceptional, gave us such good advice on places to see and go. Can't thank her enough! I would certainly return again

This was a good stay. The surrounding area was beautiful and full of wildlife. There were plenty of birds and squirrels and even some deer. There were plenty of good places to eat and drink and scenic buildings. Even quite a few historical buildings including grants home. The hot tub was amazing. The kitchen was well appointed. I would highly recommend this place

What an awesome place to relax and have fun during our exteded ski weekend (6 people). The host was great. The home is beautiful and clean. Just 18 minutes to Chesnut ski and 15 minutes to Galena. Highly recommend!!!

We are hospitality fanatics that enjoy traveling more than staying home! Since we can’t get away as much as we would like, a vacation property near home just seemed like the right solution. It is the perfect place for us to spend our energy or just enjoy nature. Normally we love being on the go but when we are in Galena all we really need is a nice glass of wine and good company to make our stay perfect.

Why they chose this property

We searched to find a peaceful location away from our every day hectic routine... a place where we could relax and at the same time entertain and enjoy family and friends. The Galena area is the prettiest in the state of Illinois! We are only a couple of hours from home yet feel like we are worlds away. We love the carefree feeling we have as soon as we arrive. A weekend is never long enough!

What makes this property unique

Trail’s End is situated in one of the most beautiful areas of the Galena Territory. Not completely secluded though very private, the back of the property is completely wooded and across the road is wooded green space. This environment provides the vegetation that all local wildlife seek. It is a regular occurrence to see deer strolling through the side of our property in the morning and evening. Colorful birds are at the feeders continuously and wild turkey often stop by for a snack!
