The biggest problem with this rental was how hot it was. The air was set on 78 and that is absolutely miserable. We had made contact with the owner about an issue with not being able to find an iron. They were very rude. I didn't reach out to them about how hot it was because of this encounter. It also needed a good cleaning. We checked out a day early because it was miserably hot. Won't be back. Kindness when dealing with customers goes a long way.

Cynthia, I would like to start off by saying I, as the property manager, was overly communicative with you and you never went more than 10 minutes without a response from me. Not one time were any of my responses "rude" - seeing as all of our communication was through the VRBO chat box there is a perfect record of my responses.
You first messaged me accusing me of not sending your check-in procedures which I responded to immediately and forwarded my previously sent email to you. You then messaged me asking where the iron was located - I responded within minutes letting you know certain locations to check as between guests, cleaners, and personnel things can get moved around. I know the iron was in the home as the previous guest told me they used it. You then demanded I bring over an iron immediately or send someone over to look for it. I let you know that we did not have anyone available right that second but I would resolve the issue for you in no longer than 24 hours as this is the policy VRBO has in place for us for reasonable response time.
You then decided to message me condescending nasty messages back to back, at one point sending the same message 4 times in a row in a matter of 10 seconds without giving me the chance to respond. I have never been talked to in such a disrespectful manner by a guest in my entire career as a property manager. You demanded I DoorDash you an iron so that is what I did and you had one delivered to the door within an hour from your first message letting me know you could not locate it. You then completely changed your tone once it arrived at the door.
I would have been more than happy to work with you on the issue of the temperature, I am sure it was an easy adjustment that could have been made to make you more comfortable. There was not one message from me that was "rude" or ever gave you the impression that I would not address an issue if needed. It seems as though you had an overwhelming desire to give a nasty review no matter what I did to accommodate you. You were already added to our do not rent list after the encounter. Thanks.
This is a great property in Beaufort and we enjoyed our time here. This is an older house, which is very charming, but I also feel it could be better with a deep cleaning and a few things touched up/attended to around the house. The communication was slow, but generally responsive. Also the house is on a busy street, which wasn't a problem for us except when exiting the property, it could be challenging at times. Also, when it was really hot the ac struggled in the upstairs, which is where all the bedrooms are. Thankfully, it cooled off enough at night, that the upstairs cooled down too. I'm sure this is the nature of older homes like this, but just something to keep in mind. All of that aside, we did enjoy our time here and liked that the house was removed a bit from the busier downtown area.

Hi Scott! Thank you for the review, we will note these mindful suggestions. We are happy to hear you overall enjoyed your time with us and we would be happy to have you back!
We had a fantastic stay at this VRBO! The location was close to shops, restaurants, and the Marine base, making it convenient for everything we needed. The home was thoughtfully designed, spacious, clean, and fully stocked with all the essentials. The beds were comfortable (pillows were next-level!), ensuring a great night’s sleep, and everything felt well cared for and easy to use. Ashley was super responsive and helpful throughout our stay, which made the experience even better. Overall, it was a wonderful stay, and we would happily return! Thank you!
This Old House is ideally situated to explore Beaufort, Port Royal and the surrounding beach parks, state parks and wildlife sanctuaries. The Spanish Moss trail is literally right around the corner and the surrounding neighborhoods are beautiful.Kitchen and Laundry are particularly well equipped (long stay for us and lots of cooking so it mattered). The house is beautiful and everything we expected. There are a few maintenance or upgrade items that could be done, more important to long stay than only a week stay, but should be done nonetheless. Old homes in that environment suffer and this one could use some TLC for the door jambs and hardware primarily. Not a security issue, just cosmetic. The heating and AC worked great, the sunroom is a wonderful space for morning coffee, and the dining room table is large enough to do a jigsaw puzzle and still feed 6. The landscaper keeps the leaves and lawn cleaned up regularly, and the old Live Oak is gorgeous. One thing to be aware of is the house in on a main thoroughfare, so at commuter times traffic can be heavy for short times, requiring a little extra caution leaving the driveway. There are also Emergency vehicles using Ribaut as the hospital is just up the road, but after a few days we hardly noticed. The bedrooms were quite large and comfortable, as well as the 2 upstairs bathrooms. The powder room off the dining room is tiny but convenient. All in all we loved the house & location and Ashley was easy to work with.

Thank you for your review and suggestions William! We did address that door jam issue so it is in perfect working condition now! We loved having you for your long term stay and would be very happy to have you back!
This is a beautiful historic home that is located close to the bay with entertainment & restaurants nearby. The house was well maintained and easy to find. We have top notch communication with property mgmt as well.
Very beautiful and pleasant stay. Everything was as stated and more. Great location near downtown Beaufort. Our son graduated from the Marines, so it was both significant and memorable. Thank you for a wonderful experience.
The house was well equipped and homey. Beds were comfy. Appliances were new and easy to work with. We would definitely rent this home again. Beaufort was a delight.
Good property. Property actually had more amenities than advertised. Had blow dryers, shampoo, soap, etc.. Road noise was loud in front bed room, but generally ok. Good property, would stay here again.
We had a wonderful time in our Beaufort home! The kitchen ammenities made our stay feel more like home by giving us the ability to cook for our group. We had plenty of space to entertain with family and friends. The location of this home close to shops and restaraunts made our stay even more comfortable. Hopefully we will be back soon!
We came down from Charlotte for 4 nights over Labor Day weekend and just loved it. We had never been to Beaufort. The house and Beaufort were both fantastic. It's an old house with a lot of character that has been re-done very well inside. It was stocked extremely well and there were extra touches that showed that the owner cares about their guests. We did a boat tour on the river, 2 days at Hunting Island State Park beach (30 min away...wonderful beach), and dinners in downtown Beaufort. Just a phenomenal trip and getaway. Highly recommend.
Stayed here for 5 days for my son in laws boot camp graduation . Had nearly 15 people over for a wonderful lunch to celebrate. Beautifully decorated home that makes you feel warm and welcomed as soon as you enter . I did give it only 4 stars on location and neighborhood because it is a very high traffic road with a hospital nearby. The beauty of the home and yard makes up for this . First night got awaken but the rest of our stay was peaceful . Very well equipped kitchen and has everything you need for a long stay like ours . Thank you for opening this beautiful home to our family to make memories

Thank you Ashley! We apologize for the noise and are exploring options to help cancel some of that out, we have recently invested in some noise cancelling devices. We are so glad you enjoyed otherwise and would be honored to have you back in the future!
