Great stay in Beaufort

The property was clean and comfortable. It's in a quiet neighborhood, convenient to downtown and other area attractions. We enjoyed riding the bikes on the Spanish Moss Trail, and also took advantage of the State Park pass to visit Hunting Island State Park.

Great time in Beaufort

We stayed for almost 5 weeks, my wife and I are considering buying a home in the area. We loved Beaufort and the cottage was great. Everything you need for a short or long stay. Neighbors were very nice and it's very close to downtown Beaufort. Also 10 min to Port Royal which is a cute town with some nice restaurants and a great brewery.

Anniversary Trip

Family weekend fling

My mom who turned 90 in February wanted a weekend of fun with here girls. Beaufort SC was just right for a quick trip. The Metmaid Cottage was the perfect stay. We enjoyed every minute.

Convenient, charming cottage

We felt right at home In this adorable and nicely decorated cottage. It has a spacious living room, well equipped kitchen w nice cookware and dishes. We rode the comfortable bikes on the Spanish Moss bike trail. Views are gorgeous! The cottage is very convenient to all of our favorite restaurants. Hope to stay here again!

This is the most charming little cottage I’ve ever stayed in. Everything was prefect and spotless. The decor is over the moon cozy. I will be back. The owners were amazing.

Overall it was a nice house. It could use a few hooks in the bathrooms for robes, towels etc.

It was a comfortable & cozy house. We were there to see our grandson graduate from USMC @ Parris Island. It was amazing.

Loved this cottage!

No detail was overlooked at this cottage, from the professional decor to the amenities. It is so quaint and impeccably clean. It’s definitely a jewel in a beautiful, historic town! Perfect accommodations for our girls weekend with my mom and sister. I hope to have the chance to return soon! Thank you!

Beautiful Beaufort Cottage

This cottage was amazing for our holiday stay in Beaufort! I loved how when we came back n the music and lights were on. The central location is great and close to everything including the amazing downtown. The cottage was very clean and cozy feeling. The rooms were a good size and had nice amenities including fire pit, bikes, and a Hunting Island parking pass. Overall, this cottage was amazing and we will definitely stay here on later trips to Beaufort.

Great place to quarantine ahead of reuniting with my parents for the holidays.

Overall, great place to have been albeit odd not to have stayed with my parents in the first week. Only small recommendation would be to get better pillows and perhaps a firmer mattress.

Beaufort visit

The cottage was the right size for us. Great location too. One recommendation is to have a coat rack or hooks for coats as we were there during a rainstorm and cooler weather. No where to hang our coats. Also a shoe mat for wet shoes would be nice too.

Cozy cottage

Clean and bright. Thoughtfully stocked, with three bikes available for use. Property Manager very responsive. Thank you as he had to reset code to retrieve some shoes. Walkable and quiet neighborhood. Loved Beaufort and our stay - just needed to be longer.

The mermaid theme and colors were so calming which is what my husband and I needed .

We went to join family in attending our step-grandson's graduation from the Marine Corp Basic Training. The location was only about 15 minutes away from the base. The neighborhood was clean and well maintained as was the property. We arrived after dark on a rainy night and the front porch light being on and the paved driveway and wide walk way were a welcome site.

A new favorite!

The Cottage: Adorably themed and setup for any length getaway. The cottage is setup with modern appliances & conveniently located (more on this below). The hosts went above & beyond with a welcome package including information about the area & checklists of things to do locally, including things we hadn’t known about prior that we added to our itinerary. The Location: Beaufort - a beautiful town with a rich history. When visiting for the first time we could not have picked a better spot to stay. The cottage is 5 minutes from town & 30 minutes from the beach on Hunting Island state park (the cottage includes a parks pass, no extra entry fees required!). There is plenty to do & see between historical landmarks, parks, beaches, and golf courses. 11/10 will stay again

Great family-friendly cottage in Beaufort

My husband and I have made it a tradition to come up to Hunting Island for my birthday in December each year. Last year, we stayed in a traditional resort on Hilton Head, but decided that we wanted a rental house so that we wouldn't have to worry about our children bothering other guests (they are 2 and 5 months, respectively), and so that we could cook, wash laundry, etc. while on vacation. Mermaid Cottage was absolutely perfect for our needs, and we very much enjoyed our stay. The neighborhood was quiet and safe. The kitchen was fully stocked with dishes, fridge, oven/stove, etc. So many little details have been put into the decor and it is adorable! We appreciated the music playing and lights on when we arrived. It made it so cozy! The cottage was also decorated for Christmas, which was super-fun. We wouldn't hesitate to stay here again for sure! Thank you, Johnsons!

This was our second stay at this lovely cottage which is within walking distance to the Spanish Moss Trail. It is in an ideal location to both Beaufort, Port Royal and the islands. There are many good restaurants to choose from in and the proximity to Publix was a plus. The cottage was perfect for us. The owners offered many generous amenities such as use of a bike, Huntington Park pass, coffees, etc. to take advantage of during our stay. The backyard is lovely, and the street is peaceful. It was lovely to awaken to peace and quiet with the sound of birds. We love Beauford and will absolutely stay at this cottage again.
