We really enjoyed our stay here! The casita had everything we needed and the grounds were amazing. The location was also great, it was close to everything, yet felt remote. Would definitely stay here again. Thanks for a great weekend!
This property rules, truly one of the most actually luxurious short term rentals I’ve ever booked. The home has a lot of character, is incredibly comfortable, and nothing about it feels like a flipped property used as passive income. Just really comfortable, airy, and nice. The only disappointment is that the property is shared with another rental; my wife and I were initially very disappointed by this, because we booked the stay while our puppy was in heat, and having actual distance from people/seclusion was a safety concern. Even so, there’s still plenty of space and privacy, and in our 10 day stay, it never came up as an issue. Just feels worth mentioning, because it did feel like a piece of information omitted from the listing that other renters might be interested to know. Worth reiterating, though, that I’m still leaving a 5-star review, would absolutely book again, and feel like this spot was well worth the expense.
The casita was great! We loved the design and the artistic elements. The grounds were quiet and beautiful. The pool is like nothing I've ever seen. What an interesting concept. The location was just right for us, a relatively short drive for groceries and restaurants while still secluded. This place is unique!
Stayed here with my husband and 2 small dogs. Such a charming property! Be sure to check the parking instructions ahead of time so you know how to access the property. Bed was super comfortable, great working AC to cool off, and very well maintained property. Would definitely stay again and recommend.
Austin is a lovely city, but I found a gem within the city. This place is lovely to getway, find peace, tranquility, and breathe within a booming city.
Loved the place and the surrounding grounds. Perfect spot to relax and unwind with family. Lots of thought and care have gone into creating an artist setting with interesting touches everywhere.
We were helping our daughter move from one home to another in Austin. This was the perfect place to come home to in the evenings. It is a beautiful, well-equipped place, with lovely outdoor seating areas and lighting, just what we needed after some very long days.
Enjoyed our stay at this cute place ! Very eclectic and interesting- host provided everything- plenty of towels, soap - would definitely come back again - bring water shoes
Beautiful, remote location in Westlake Hills. Enjoyed the artwork and sculptures throughout the property. Enjoyed all the manicured trails weaving throughout the property.
Really enjoyed the quiet offered by this location.
It was exactly what we needed. A beautiful relaxing escape, more than we expected. Finding art works around the grounds became a game for us. I highly recommend this slice of paradise.
I never found the hot tub, the entrance is a bit tricky getting my truck in and out. But besides that very nice property. I would definitely stay again
this place is truly special and one of a kind- it’s perched in the treetops but beautiful sculptures are nestled everywhere on the property. From the outdoor shower to enjoying golden hour dining al fresco, you would never feel like you’re in Austin.Having lived in Texas and Austin for over 15 years, this place gives you the best of both worlds- 10 min from Downtown but once you’re in the hills, you’ll get to enjoy all the beautiful nature, smells and wildlife. It’s perfect for you if you’re looking for a nature retreat that will allow you to slow down and disconnect but is also close enough to creature comforts. The pool is such a treat to use and the water makes your skin feel rejuvenated. I will try to stay at this property everytime I come back to town- its magic
Clean and well appointed down to makeup towels and spices, the directions are a tad tricky and the road in is a little bumpy but it’s So worth it! Easy and private check in and reasonable check out requests. Comfy beds with good linens and plenty of pillows and towels. Do stop for grocer on your way in that first night as restraints and grocery stores are 15-20 minutes back down a dark windy road. The perfect getaway after a busy day in Austin. The pool is natural and exquisite. .
Amazing views loved the peaceful vibe with no one in site. Property management is excellent. Amenities included everything we needed and more. Would highly recommend if you want to get away from it all.
Thank you for sharing. Carla Rivera
David's place made me remember how great the outdoors can be... from the comfort of a cozy patio and relaxing stay!
There was plenty of room for me and my friends and we celebrated a very chill Halloween with snacks and spooky movies, all in the privacy of our little home away from home.
Thanks again for opening your doors to us, David!
The house is beautiful and stocked with everything you could ask for and more. One of the few rentals I have stayed in that went above and beyond with appliances, cookware, and everything else you need, including toiletries if you happen to forget your own! The property is beyond beautiful and captures the natural side of what is definitely one of the busiest cities around. You won't have to travel far to be in the heart of the city, which makes this ideal for quiet getaways, while having access to one of my favorite cities in the country.

We came for a girls trip, with the intention of relaxing, hiking and swimming. The home was nice and clean. However the property has overgrown trees/ bushes etc and lots of spiders. Were bitten all over our legs and we didn’t feel comfortable hiking. The pool has not been maintained and we did not feel comfortable swimming in it. Overgrowth, moss, bugs etc plus someone else’s old pool toys. Not the ideal place to book if you are looking for a pool to swim in.

We are so sorry you did not enjoy your stay. It was an oversight not expressing how natural the setting is once you set foot outside your accommodations. The pools is filtered through both UV and an enormous media filter to make it as clean and as safe a rain fed body of water can be. We do not use any chemicals which results in some growth at certain times of years. A 90,000 gallon pool sunk into a rock ravine is a unique swimming experience not like a backyard pool. There are all new pool floats (which should have been put out before your stay). It was unfortunate we didn’t express all of this to you.
Absolutely amazing experience.
Things to note: Grill works awesome, comes with everything needed
Outdoor shower is wonderful. Gets super hot. I did not shower indoors once during my stay hahaha
The king bed in the master is incredibly comfortable. Everything was clean, well prepared, detailed, absolutely phenomenal service from David.
I normally don’t let lightning strike twice, always look for something new when I visit, but I definitely see myself opting to stay here again on our next Austin visit.
We only wish it had a bot tub, seriously, book this place. You will not regret it. Serenity, peace, so much space to yourself. It is so shocking how close to Austin this “outdoor getaway” is. Literally 5 minutes to the bridge, I can’t remember the name, pepper something.. just a phenomenal stay. 19 stars.
The house is adorable and is perfect for individuals who like the outdoors. Unfortunately, we are not those individuals. We were not told ahead of time we would have to walk down a dirt gravel path to get to the house. We were also not told that driving to the actual parking spot would pose some obstacles. We are very fortunate to have a truck but I would caution anyone from taking a low car to the location. There are walking paths on the property but many of the stairs and surfaces are unleveled and do not have guardrails. It was suggested we wear slip resistant shoes after we arrived. It would have been nice to know that ahead of time. I had to change shoes in the car after leaving the house and then again when we got back. There is no real "yard" for pets to use. I strongly advice anyone who has a senior dog to not stay here. Young dogs can probably handle the property but ours could not. If you like camping or hiking then this is a perfect place for you. If you are not into camping or hiking then I do not think this is for you.
We have a ranch outside of Austin so we are used to privacy, seclusion and "not being bothered" when we are in town so this (booking in Austin) was a first. I looked at hundreds of properties and kept finding that all of the houses were just renditions of the others---nothing really notable. Found this house and was a bit hesitant due to it being "significantly affordable". Lesson learned. Gorgeous property, great location (VERY close to town) and very private. The previous reviews for this property have been from people who probably had no business staying in a place surrounded by "nature". If a spider outside on a sidewalk is a deal breaker stay elsewhere. If you appreciate quiet, seclusion and a completely different vibe from your suburban life in a home that is impeccably maintained, well appointed and has green views out of every window then book here. The pool is fabulous (husband wants to replicate something similar) and very unique. An Olympic sized private "mini-lake" is about as good as it gets. While we stayed in the larger Casita there is one smaller one that is also on the property which is equally as awesome as this one (pictures do not begin to give thus place justice). Liking privacy, was worried about this until we saw that both are not visible to the other and both are secluded enough as to not know if anyone is there or not. Overall, cannot underscore how happy we were to have found this place. Hoping to book again in the fall. Thank you David!
