Clean, comfortable and quiet place for solo traveler or couple. Close to Volcanoes National Park, dining, market, hiking, exploring and eruption viewing. Beautiful plants and flowers in yard (see photos)

Nice place. Clean and well maintained. Clearly the host has put effort in providing the extra touches to make the guest stay comfortable. A light on the address sign would be helpful for those arriving after dark.

Perfect Location and seclusion

The property is very private and personal. Surrounded by the rain forest.Minutes from Kilauea mountain we got to see and incredible volcanic eruption

Great place to stay to explore the Volcano

We had a wonderful stay at the Volcano Retreat. The cottage is very well appointed with a full kitchen and washer and dryer. We made breakfast every morning and snacks to take with us on our adventures. It was conveniently located right outside the National Park and only 45 minutes from Hilo. The town of Volcano Village is quite small with a few restaurants and a small grocery store. So you may want to bring some stuff from Kona or Hilo. But they have a really fun Farmer's Market on Sundays.
