We enjoyed our stay in this home. We used the kitchen, office area, dining room, living room, back patio, master bedroom, bathroom, and laundry. Everything worked well and was very clean. We really appreciated the garage - that was a huge bonus (didn't have to use street parking). The office area was also a pleasant surprise as we both were working from home. The proximity to Franciscan was very important to us as well.We hope to stay again in the future.
This was a great place to stay near Franciscan University. The owners were very responsive. Although most Midwestern homes have one bathroom upstairs, we made it work with some extra planning. I would definitely stay here again.
The property was well maintained and stocked for our stay as a family of 6. It was nice to have the living rooms and kitchen space for our four kids. Everyone had a bed and enough room to sleep. Host was great with communication and ease of check in and check out. The bathroom was clean. The smoke detector was placed at a location on the wall right where the oven opens, and there was no stovetop fan, so cooking meant the detector went off many times. Location was a short distance from downtown and many nearby attractions as well as five minutes from a Kroger.
Fine for short stays, but could use some upgrades for longer stays.
The house itself was fine and everything was in working order. It's a cute old "kit home" with all the expected upgrades for modern comfort.
However, the front sitting room had couches that weren't comfortable to sit on. Would not recommend counting those as sleeping areas. The main bedroom has a very soft and bouncy mattress while one of the bedrooms had a hard mattress in which my kid could feel the springs. The sheets were fine, but the comforters and blankets were rough and stiff.
Appearance wise, the biggest issue was the longer I stayed there, the more I noticed almost all of the wallpaper over the entire house was peeling and the cheap peel-n-stick tiles in the bathroom were coming up or shifting.
Besides a few upgrades needed here and there to the furniture, linens, walls and floor, all-in-all, the stay was worth it and would recommend.
