About this property

Cozy lakefront cottage on all sports Hart Lake

Your vacation starts here ! Live the simple life up north. Slow down and enjoy. Our two-bedroom, one-bath quaint 1930’s cottage can sleep 4-6 guests. One bedroom contains two single person beds and the other has a queen bed. If you happen to have 2 additional guests, there is a choice of a pull-out queen bed in either shared space. You can wake up to the morning sunrise overlooking the lake with a cup of tea or coffee. Sip it on the indoor porch or at the picnic table on the patio. There is over 100 feet of lake frontage that you can spend lazy days basking in the sun, fishing off the dock or canoeing with the kids kayaking. We are on Hart Lake (also known as Little Silver Lake). It’s an all sports lake with gradual depth so it’s great for kids. Enjoy the fire out, with Adirondack chairs around. Have some s’mores or make a whole meal over the fire. Make family memories for a lifetime. Manistee National Forest is just up the road for hiking and biking. The cottage is centrally located for those who wish to visit Cedar Point’s Michigan’s Adventure. Muskegon state parks, and the farmers market located downtown with small retail shops to explore like the famous “Cheese Lady”. We also are close to are restaurants, golf courses, disc golf, wineries, and breweries, shopping, grocery stores, theaters, and close to the Blue Lake fine art camp. The cottage has all the amenities of home with fresh linens, bath/beach towels, and a fully stocked kitchen. We have high speed internet (Xfinity) to work away from home or Apple TV for those who are wanting just to stay and relax. The cottage is a wonderful place to kick back and enjoy the peaceful surroundings. It was built in 1935 and had some upgrades done. Hope we see you soon to share our little slice of heaven. The best way to get into the cottage is from the door that faces the lake. Park to the right of the cottage.

We are family of five who loves the outdoors and especially by the water. We are from multiple places. We have lived in Poland, Germany, Chicago, Grand Rapids and home currently is Kalamazoo, Michigan. We love our cottage but as busy as we are, we are not always able to get there. We want you to be able to enjoy the outdoors and make memories that will last forever at our little cottage. We love the area and the outdoor space it gives you. We think it be a shame not to share it. We wanted to have something to share with our family and friends that gave us a chance to relax, bond and appreciate each other. To slow down and appreciate life and the great Michigan outdoors. There is nothing like the smell of water, sand and trees in the summertime to make you remember how to be a kid.

Why they chose this property

We love the lake. We also love being so close to Michigan Adventure and Muskegon. The neighbors are very friendly. The cottage is on the tip of the lake, so we have over 100 feet of beach front. We also chose this because we like the lake itself. It is clean and a good portion of the lake is sandy. The cottage itself is from the 1930's which we love. We prefer older home to new ones. There is just more character and charm. We have fished, swam, paddle boarded, kayaked, canoed the lake and we find something new every time. There is also hiking trails nearby. The cottages faces east so it's a great way to wake and even do some morning sun salutations. We have visited the Effin bar a few times and we love the food and the outdoor area.

What makes this property unique

Our property is special because it is the original cottage. It sits at the top of a 1/3 acre property with mature pine trees. We believe that the closed in porch was added on a little later. The linoleum is the only flooring it has seen. We believe that new does not always mean better. We like preserving things and using them as long as you can. The property dose have AC and heat so no matter what the temperature is outside you will be cozy inside. The little path to the lake has pines on both sides and the stairs have solar lights so you can see us from the lake or your way down to the lake. It is a little magical, just take the time to look and enjoy. The firepit is also amazing and lets you look out at the lake, especially at night when it is nice and calm. It is the perfect way to end the day. The kids think it's also the best part of the day.
