About this property

Rustic, spacious log cabin on Echo Lake

Bring your whole family to our rustic, yet spacious log cabin only 80 feet from one of the cleanest lakes in Maine! Relax while sipping coffee watching beautiful sunrises over the lake. Enjoy meals with the whole group at the large dining room table. This cabin is located in an idyllic area for swimming, fishing, kayaking, paddleboarding, & listening to the loons. Parking for up to 4 cars. Only a few minutes from Camp Vega, Camp Winnebago, & Camp Laurel.. short drive to Augusta or Belgrade!

THE PROPERTY:
This is a seasonal cabin abutted by many acres of woods located in rural Maine. It is quirky, “campy” (for those from around here!), and minimalistic... Glamping upgraded with proper plumbing and standard kitchen amenities. It’s surrounded by beautiful wildlife and amazing lake views— morning, evening, and night. We spend more time outside than inside. The environment is so peaceful and a great escape from the bustle of everyday life. We truly love sharing this cherished family space with our guests looking for this authentic Maine camp experience! We provide many pictures of our property to be transparent about our offerings; please let us know if you have any questions at all!

DRINKING WATER:
The water in the camp is lake-drawn, therefore you will need to bring your own drinking water. The water is suitable for showers and washing dishes. We have a 5-gallon jug dispenser. You can buy a jug at the store on your way or fill ours up at Hannaford.

BASICS:
We will supply basics (toilet paper, hand/ dish soap, trash bags) to kick off your stay, however we recommend bringing extra based on your group consumption needs and length of stay.

LINENS:
- We provide comforters, pillows, and several dish/ hand towels.
- Guests must bring own sheets and towels.
- We do offer a linen package-- which includes sheets and bath towels for registered guests-- for $250. Please make this request no later than 1 week prior to your stay.
- Please be aware we do not have a washer/ dryer on-site.

WI-FI:
The wi-fi is not adequate for streaming. Instead, we recommend watching one of our “old-school” VHS movies, you can bring your favorite DVDs, or feel free to return to the beautiful outdoors to enjoy the stars/ loons. :)

We will do everything we can to make sure you enjoy your stay!

Why they chose this property

The cottage is located on a low traffic street right across from the lake and only 80 feet from the water entrance. Most of the car or foot traffic is either neighbors or people going to the nearby local summer kids camps (late June through mid August). Walking distance from Camp Vega, Camp Winnebago, & Camp Laurel.. a few minute drive from Kents Hill School… and less than 30 minutes to Winthrop, Belgrade, or Augusta! Many neighbors enjoy going for walks or bike rides down the paved street along the water. For most, a vehicle is needed to get to the nearest convenience store (2.5 miles).

The driveway can comfortably fit one vehicle. If needed, one additional car can be parked across the street directly in front of the cottage.

We kindly ask our guests to be respectful of our neighbors by reducing noise after 10pm and minimizing outdoor lights to limit negative impact on the wildlife.
