About this property
Poolside Waikiki Retreat w/ AC, surfboard storage, walking distance to beach!
Located in the center of Waikiki with amenities like A/C, on premises laundry, and bike & surfboard storage, this spot is a no brainer. Directly across from the *eight foot deep* outdoor pool and patio, and just blocks from the beach, this apartment is truly a piece of paradise. Everything is in walking distance with Kuhio to one end of the block and the scenery of Ala Wai at the other. A quiet, respectful building primarily comprised of adult residents. Newly renovated shower, flooring and electrical, but has the original 1955 charm.
While technically a studio apartment it definitely feels like a 1 bedroom. Steps and floor-to-ceiling shelves separate the living space and bedroom from the kitchen and dining area, storage and bathroom. The space has plenty of natural light and lots of storage! 3 large closets and 2 shelves in addition to the built-in floor-to-ceiling shelving.
Managed by a resident of the building so help is never far away :)

About the host
Hosted by Melanie
Originally from Wisconsin but spent 20 years in NY where I was a 5 star host on airbnb for two properties and just fell in love with the whole process of making a home, from renovation to decoration. Relocated to HI in the summer of 2022 and am so grateful to be surrounded by Aloha & ocean. The move here has been more than I could've hoped. I live in a studio in the same building as this unit but unless you need me I'll be out of your way aside from check-in & check-out.
Why they chose this property
Being able to walk to the beach is invaluable to me, Waikiki has the best beginning surf beaches, and I love the atmosphere. Coming from NYC, it's like a classy lil strip of NYC, on a beach, but with only the most polite tourists. I love it.
What makes this property unique
This building is truly unique, it's Waikiki's first high rise from 1955! This unit was originally an office from when the unit was mixed-use. It is full of stand-out details & amenities. The high ceilings, the floor-to-ceiling shelving unit that separates the bedroom and kitchen, the AC, the proximity to the 8 foot deep pool (which is completely underutilized by tenants, you can basically consider it your lanai), the excellent laundry facilities, the FREE bike & surfboard storage, the AMPLE storage within the unit (so many huge closets), the proximity to the beach! the lovely community in the building, the beautiful all-native landscaping, top notch building management of a historic building, recent renovation, excellent water pressure, water filter faucet, virtually everything you need provided from beach towels to salad bowls, and to top it all off, a very emotionally invested property manager who lives a few floors up!
