Kila was very responsive to our needs and to ensure that we had a wonderful stay. If you're looking for a very tropical and relaxing get away close to shopping, beaches and other popular attractions yet very conveniently located in the middle of Honolulu, this is it! The best of both worlds!
Couldn't ask for a better place to stay while I was on the island. The property is very clean and newly remodeled. The area is up in the hills and beautiful. Just hoping it's not all booked up when I want to return!
This stay is exactly as described. All photos and listed amenities are accurate. Communication with the host and property care staff is excellent. The view from the property over downtown and this ocean is very nice. I would definitely recommend this to anyone seeking a quiet, relaxing, accommodating and comfy place to stay!
We loved the quiet area of Makiki. It is out of the way of the busy energy of Honolulu, but close enough to get into town easily for whatever you need. It is only 20 minutes from Waikiki and Ala Moana Beach and shopping center. It has amazing views from the road of Waikiki and the ocean. I loved my daily walks up the hill to enjoy the views. It is also very close to some amazing hiking trails. There is a large Monkey tree in the front that was full of Parakeets and various other Hawaiian birds in the morning, which was a wonderful way to begin each day. We will definitely stay again.
Beautiful birds on trees. The property manager Kila was very responsive. Two neighboring cottages. The wall separation with one of them is rather thin. We rented a car for part of the stay (recommended option). There is however a bus stop right outside, with schedules on the hour. I got to use it on the end part of my stay.
Stay was not what was advertised. Advertised as one price, refused our reservation, almost doubled original price. TV didn’t work. No AC in upper bedroom. Outside laundry room unsafe with no lighting. Upper bathroom window with clear glass
Great place to stay for an extended visit. The bedrooms are large, the common area comfortable and modern, and the kitchen well stocked. Easy to call for help with maintenance. The property feels private, and it is shaded by a huge tree overhanging the yard. There’s a great breeze because there are windows on both sides of the building. As with the whole neighborhood, there are mosquitos and it rains a lot. Also be aware that your property gets a few loud drivers going by in the middle of the night. Highly recommended!
This was the second time for us to stay at this property, and just the fact that we came back should be very telling for how much we enjoyed our stay. The house keepers are also very nice and helpful.
This is a beautiful property and a comfortable living arrangement. The owner was very responsive and the property very clean. It is close to good restaurants and shopping if you have transportation. The bus stop right next to the place so public transport is an option, although we didn't use it. The grill and the view from the overlook also made eating in really nice.
We had a wonderful three-month stay at this property! The location is great, with beautiful views of the ocean and the city. The house is very spacious and comfortable, with a large patio and plenty of parking space. The property manager was always ready to help. We hope to return soon!
We are traveling more and more but we love this property. Decided to renovate, practically all redone, roof, electric, plumbing and other amenities needed nowadays.
Why they chose this property
The location first of all. Those 500 feet above sea level, due to micro-climate, provide ideal conditions in every way. The air is fresh in the summer as well, under a majestic canopy of a monkey-pod tree, does not prevent spectacular view towards West, Pearl Harbor, and romantic sunsets.
What makes this property unique
It is located 5 minutes from downtown, 13 minutes from Waikiki, 10 minutes from the famous Ala Moana Shopping Center, renovated to claim again the Most of Most of the whole Pacific Rim. Above the property you can walk the moltitude of forest trails, crossing creeks all the way to the Manoa Falls (that may take over 2 hours) but the vegetation propelled by the cinder soil is not to be missed. Bikers consider the Tantalus Loop (the property is on the lower side) a Mecca of riding.
