Combining the advantages of a mountainous region (900m altitude, fresh air, less hot during the summer) with proximity to the beach (Punta Beach at 14km from the house), the place is a superb choice for a memorable holiday with family or friends, or for couples/individuals looking for a peaceful getaway. Here, you will experience a private and relaxed atmosphere with spectacular views and traditional Greek hospitality.
This ‘gateway’ location is ideal for those looking for a home base from which to travel throughout Greece. There are many Historical and Archaeological sites, in the surrounding areas, that you can visit within one day:
- 40 mins to the famous Rio-Antirrio bridge, the world's longest multi-span, cable-stayed bridge. It crosses the Golf of Corinth near Patras, linking the town of Rio on the Peloponnese, to Antirrio on mainland Greece by road; this means that you can literally drive from the house directly to the Ionian Islands -Cephalonia, Zakynthos, Lefkada, Corfu...
By Sea:
From Pounta, you can easily cross the sea by speedboat to visit the Temple of Apollo at the Archaeological site of Delphi, one of the most famous sanctuaries in all of Greece.The ancient town is located at the foot of Mt. Parnassus and about 6 miles (10km) from the Gulf of Corinth. In 1987, Delphi was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
By Road (1-3 hours by car):
You can visit Ancient Corinth, the Sanctuary of Asklepios and Theater at Epidavros, Nauplio, Mucenae, Sparta and Mystras. Take a scenic ride to Ancient Olympia to see where the original Olympic Games began. This Sacred site is still important to the current Olympic Games, as the celebration ritual which sparks the flame for the games is held at the Temple of Hera.
There are many more cultural and recreational activities to explore: At 20 km, the village of Diakofto is the starting point of the rack railway to Kalavryta, the journey takes approx. 1 hour through picturesque landscapes along the gorges Vouraikos. The Monastery of Mega Spiléon is midterm and worth a visit. Nearly Kastria, 16 km from Kalavryta, you can visit the cave lakes (guided tour). The ski resort of Kalavryta, on the slopes of Mount Helmos satisfies the winter sports enthusiasts (35km). Also there are Wineries (7km), a big choice of disco and bars nearby the beach as well as plenty of real temples of regional cuisine.
Interior:
Fitted with wooden floors and modern furnishings in earthy tones, the 2-floor house sleeps up to 6 persons (in beds provided). On the ground level there is a large living space unified with the ergonomic kitchen and a bathroom. Upstairs, 2 comfortable double bedrooms and a bathroom. The house is equipped with a large Terrace and balconies that offer a panoramic view of the sea and the countryside. The house is non-smoking, but feel free to smoke outside.

Guests have daily access to beach chairs, sun beds, umbrellas and towels at Pounta beach (10€ per family) and special prices to nearby taverns (15€ per person).
