About the host
Hosted by Lindy Bishop
Hi there, I’m an artist and Mom to three young adults who have recently left the neat. I grew up in the town of Elk Rapids near by, had a career in Chicago and moved back to the area 15 years ago. I like to travel and am interested in painting wherever I go, sometimes on the back of a sailboat. I like to get out and do athletic things as well as take in cultural events and institutions. Interested in the arts, history, sports, nature and people.
Why they chose this property
I love the rural access to fresh farm produce and bucolic scenery here as well as proximity to numerous land preserves along Lake Michigan shoreline. There is a newly renovated boat launch across the street in Sayler Park and miles of trails in the Yuba Creek preserve within a couple hundred feet of my location. Also just a 15 minute drive to the airport and 20 min to Traverse City, 10 minutes to Elk Rapids. And 2 miles to the Flintfields horse park.
What makes this property unique
I renovated this building after 20 years of non-use into a completely rejuvenated living space and art studio. It used to be a Texaco Station in the 50s, 60’s. It has a modern clean aesthetic.
