There is plenty to do including fishing, kayaking, boating, biking, golfing, & dining in York and the surrounding communities of Kittery, Cape Neddick, Ogunquit or Portsmouth, NH. About the host

Hosted by Maurice Stehman

Host profile image
I'm originally from the Chicago suburbs and growing up spent my summers in York Harbor. Some of my fondest memories as an adult was watching my own children (now adults) play in the same beach and climb the rocks as I did as a kid. I've owned the house since 1992 and my family's ties to York Harbor date back to the 1940s. I still live in the central US but have family in York and get out to Maine several times a year.

What makes this property unique

This house began as a one room cottage that is now the living room, which was moved to the property in the mid-1800s by the McKenna family and was added onto several time between then and the mid-1920s. The clapboard under the stairs is from the original exterior of that cottage. We completed a renovation of the entire house in 2018 in which every room was stripped to the framing and rebuilt, new central heating & air conditioning was installed and the kitchen, dining and laundry areas were redesigned - we hope you enjoy it.
