This is one of two prime located Saddle Ridge units, just one door apart from each other (rent both if you are a large group or come with another family) collectively known as Casa Moonlight, Big Sky, Montana, Ski Resort

Casa Moonlight Two is on Saddle Ridge at 8,000 feet above sea level between two of the most spectacular ski resorts in the West: Big Sky Resort and Moonlight Basin.

No other alpine ski area in the U.S. offers what the interconnected slopes of Big Sky Resort and Moonlight Basin do - extraordinary SKI - IN, SKI - OUT opportunities, among the highest vertical drops for groomed skiing in the U.S. (including hike-to terrain), world-class recreation year-round, and superb amenities and services.

Ski right out the back door and onto the Pony Express Run or direct to the Iron Horse Lift and you have access to over 5,250 lift-served acres of world-class alpine skiing.

Located on the warm southern facing elevated ridge that lies between the Moonlight and the Big Sky ski area, with panoramic views on all sides, Casa Moonlight is directly above the Iron Horse and Pony Express lifts which access both the Moonlight and the Big Ski base area and the mountains beyond. You can ski back to Casa Moonlight from both Big Sky and Moonlight basin ski areas.

Skiing and boarding are the main winter activities. There is ample lift serviced terrain in the 2 resorts, but if you feel the need to venture further, various back country options are available.

Summer activities in Big Sky fall into two main categories. Those organised by the resort, including Lone Peak Expeditions, Adventure Zip-line Tours, Climbing Walls etc and those to be found in the greater South West Montana area including Fishing and Rafting on the Gallatin, Hiking, Mountain Biking, Golf and of course all that Yellowstone Park ( nearest boundary - half an hour away) and West Yellowstone (just over an hour away) have to offer.

Casa Moonlight Two is a recently renovated log fronted three storey town house with a floor area of approximately 1,800 square feet in the Saddle Ridge development of the Moonlight Basin, Big Sky, commanding panoramic and unobstructed views of Lone Peak and the Big Sky and Moonlight Basin Ski Area

The new owners, who divide their time between Chile, Thailand and Montana, live in a nearby home and will personally manage your stay at Casa Moonlight throughout the ski season.

Casa Moonlight is approximately 1,800 square feet, has 2 bedrooms and 2.5 baths, and sleeps up to 7 adults. This Montana ski-in ski-out vacation condo is a luxury accommodation in every respect:

There are slate floors in the entry, bathrooms and kitchen. The vacation rental custom furniture is made out of Ponderosa Pine. This Montana condo is filled with unique western art, but the unforgettable views from all the rooms, make this vacation home a place to remember.

The kitchen is fully equipped with all appliances, flatware and utensils.

Casa Moonlight is located 45 miles from Bozeman Airport (BZN).

Location is excellent and views are outstanding. Working with the owner went well with respect to check-in and check-out. Property was comfortable for our family of four adults. Only downside was that the hot tub was malfunctioning during our stay. Wasn't a big deal for us, so did not request follow-up.

The property is exactly as described. Everything needed for our stay was provided. The condo is very spacious and has great view of the slopes and easy access to lift. Casa Moonlight has a great location close to Madison Base and the village, and the ski-in/ski-out access was excellent. The new windows with built-in shades were a nice upgrade, especially in the loft where our kids stayed. Bathrooms were clean and well maintained. Doors new with screens and locks. Check in and check out was easy. However, several issues affected our stay. The pantry was full of old and expired items that should have been cleared out prior to arrival, including rock-hard brown sugar and other condiments, foods and spices. The home also needed deeper cleaning and maintenance: burnt-out light bulbs, dusty fixtures, layers of dust on the decorative logs inside the unit, dusty and musty-smelling sheets and blankets, and old, dirty decorative pillows. We spent much of our first day, if not all of it, cleaning, dusting, vacuuming, and laundering the bedding.The listing also noted a live TV streaming service (printed out info in the cabin), but it was signed out when we arrived. We contacted the property manager, but there was no follow-up during our stay.With improved cleanliness, upkeep, and communication, this property could be a great stay given its location and layout.

There were a few hiccups with the check in that required my daughter to stay in another place the first night (provided by property management) but overall a good experience. Very clean place, nice views and accommodations were exactly what we needed. The location is a great escape from the main town center but that was what we were looking for. The local red fox visited us at the hot tub every evening.

We loved being able to trail run right out the back door. full moon views from the hot tub were amazing. The resort is so quiet this time of year. We are from a ski town ourselves - 16 year Park City residents and we'd come back to Big Sky and stay at Casa Moonlight again in a heartbeat. So close to Town Center, great hikes, and an hour to West Yellowstone. Great time and great location.

Why they chose this property

Quite simply Big Sky is the best, largest and least crowded lift serviced skiing in north America. We had been visiting (and renting - mainly in Saddle Ridge) for extended stays for 5 years - and then in late 2009 found prices had become affordable, so purchased our first home in Big Sky. Then in 2011 with a little spare cash to invest decided Big Sky was still a great location for another property investment.

What makes this property unique

The space and the peace and quiet. Yet all this with true ski in ski-out access to both Big Sky and Moonlight.
