This was a good choice for us. We were visiting family about a half block away so that was perfect. Very clean and well maintained.Only issue was communication. We were there over x’mass and I suspect the owners were out of town. There was an annoying issue that they could not deal with and I had to fix it myself. Can’t imagine that happens very often.

We’re really glad the place worked out so well for your visit and that being so close to family made things easier. Happy to hear the home was clean, comfortable, and well cared for during your stay. We do appreciate you flagging the communication hiccup over the holiday. Christmas timing can be tricky, but that’s on us, and we appreciate you rolling with it and handling the issue in the moment. Thankfully that’s not a common situation, and your feedback helps us tighten things up. Wishing you and your family all the best, and we’d be glad to host you again down the road.
Really enjoyed the stay here for work, was close to great food, the capitol, and everything else we needed. Just a short walk to a Capitol Bike Share dock, so it was a breeze to get anywhere we needed!

Great stay overall! Super comfty beds, bathroom and stay. Recently refurbished and had everything we needed. Also, our host was very nice and replied quickly.
It's in a residential/quiet neighborhood, but a great coffee) restaurant close buy and some neighborhood stores. Also it is close to busier neighborhoods and downtown.
Spacious, clean apartment on a nice block, 10 minutes by car from the Mall and DC attractions.

The house was in pristine condition and very comfortable. It's located in a historic neighborhood, so it was fun to just walk around. We would definitely return. Check out the great sneaker shop nearby, City Gear DC.

Thank you so much for the kind words. We are so glad the home felt pristine and comfortable during your stay. We take a lot of pride in keeping it in great shape, so it means a lot to hear that.
The historic neighborhood really is something special. It is hard not to fall in love just walking around and soaking it all in. And great tip on City Gear DC. That spot is a hidden gem.
We would love to host you again anytime. The door is always open for your next visit.
Just for this being a house type place it was odd there being no trash cans in the bathrooms, no hair dryer in the bathroom, the one bedroom being in the front door area, no dishwashing pods or soap(which was later brought) The smoke alarm kept going off. Just wish it was more stocked for people staying a couple nights.

Thanks for taking the time to share your experience. We’re sorry that some of the basics you expected weren’t immediately available and that the smoke alarm disruptions affected your stay.
We did respond quickly once you let us know, getting dishwashing pods delivered and working to resolve the smoke alarm issue as soon as possible. We appreciate your feedback on stocking essentials, it’s something we’re paying close attention to for future guests.
Thanks again for staying with us, and we hope you’ll consider giving us another shot.
This was my first time bringing my family down to DC and this property was a little gem. Beautiful bathrooms and kitchen. The tv in the living room was a big hit. And the beds were comfy. We had a small problem with the AC but the owner was very responsive and it was fixed quickly. There was a lovely neighbor upstairs who offered her help if we needed it. My family was very happy.

Hi Jennifer, Thanks so much! Really glad y’all had a great time and felt right at home. Happy we could get that AC issue handled quick, and how sweet is the upstairs neighbor, right? You and your fam were awesome guests, come back anytime!
Traveled with my husband and a single friend to DC in mid-September. This VRBO rental met our needs pretty well. The unit was spotlessly clean, the updated bathroom and half-bath were perfect for the 3 of us; spacious shower in the hall bath was great. No tub, but we don’t need one. The kitchen could have been a little better appointed and there was no hair dryer, but the owner was open to suggestions for improvement. The unit is within walking distance to public transportation, a couple of good restaurants and a well-stocked liquor store.

Fine, but smells of mould, and false charges after stay
The place was fine - reasonably priced. Though there was a constant odor of mould, especially in the front bedroom and living room. One of the air conditioning units which was dripping water developed black mould behind the couch. We stayed there for six weeks and asked for a vacuum cleaner or a mop - but this was not provided. Three weeks after the stay they contacted us with a charge of $400 for stained towels and apparently "scratches all over a wall" - which we absolutely dispute. They haven't provided photos of this.

Hi Eammon, Thank you for your feedback. We’re sorry to hear that some aspects of your stay didn’t meet your expectations. We appreciate the details you’ve shared, and we’d like to clarify a few things.
During your stay, you reported the mold odor and the AC issue, and we did our best to address these at the time. While we couldn’t resolve everything immediately, we scheduled professional cleaning and maintenance after your checkout to tackle the concerns fully. As for the vacuum or mop request, we sincerely apologize for not fulfilling that—it’s something we’ll work on improving for future long-term guests.
Regarding the post-stay charges, we only applied these after inspecting the property for damages. While we understand your frustration, photos and documentation of the stained towels and wall scratches were taken. If there’s still confusion, we’re happy to provide further clarification.
We truly appreciate you staying with us and sharing your experience, as it helps us improve. Wishing you all the best in your future travels!

Overall decent stay
The place served its purpose and overall my friend and I had a good experience staying here. However, it was weird that the one bedroom was right as soon as you walked in the front door with windows on the street and alley. While we had no incidents, it just felt a bit exposed and the streetlights were super bright through the edges of the curtains at night. That room was also extremely extremely humid to the point that the bedding felt damp.
There were also tons of bugs - moths, spiders, a few centipedes here and there that we had to kill.
There is also no parking pass despite the listing saying there is. The street parking says you can only park for 2 hours at a time during the day and the alley behind the house had a no parking sign and someone else parked behind the house where we were told we could possibly park. It ended up being fine to park in the alley but it was confusing.
Couches in the living area were quite uncomfortable and it was a bit annoying to have to take our own trash out even though there’s fees included that probably cover the maids.
Lastly, the host who was messaging back and forth seemed to be an AI bot. Overall just felt like a very impersonal experience and despite no major issues, just a cold feeling stay. Probably wouldn’t stay here again or recommend.

Hi Rebecca, Thanks for your feedback and for staying with us! I’m glad the place worked overall for your trip, but I’m a bit surprised to hear about some of the issues you mentioned, as none of them were brought up during your stay. If you had let us know, we would’ve been more than happy to address the humidity, bugs, or any confusion with parking right away.
Parking in DC can definitely be tricky with time limits and restrictions, but it’s something we’re familiar with, and we could have helped clarify options or find a better solution if you’d reached out. We’ll also make sure the listing is clearer about parking to avoid any confusion in the future. As for the trash, we do ask guests to take it out as part of our check-out process to keep things tidy for the next arrival. The cleaning fee covers a full turnover, but this small task helps ensure smooth transitions. That said, we understand it can feel like an extra hassle, and we’ll take this feedback into account.
I’m sorry if the experience felt impersonal—that’s not how we want our guests to feel, and we’re always here to assist in any way we can. We appreciate your feedback and will use it to keep improving. Wishing you great experiences on your future travels!
