This is our second time back to this apartment and so glad we did! It is spacious, clean and comfortable. The host is easy to work with and communicative. I had a little trouble with one of the TV's and he was quick to respond and go the extra mile to get things fixed. Will definitely stay again!

In walking distance of bars, restaurants and shopping. Lake right across the street. Apt is above a great pizzeria. Ice cream shop next door. Only drawback is there is a steep staircase to get to the apt. Owner was very accommodating when we had car trouble and needed a later check out. Would highly recommend.

We really enjoyed our stay. We were comfortable and we liked the location. Everything thing went smooth.Only one thing our group was in agreement on. It was more of a safety issue. In the main bathroom the shower floor was slanted and very slippery. And the only grab bar was loose.

The apartment is beautiful. It is very spacious - we had three adults foing yoga in the living room each morning without needing to move any furniture. The beds are comfortable. Location is perfect and it was much more affordable than the hotel across the street, especially for three couples. The only issue was the water. When you first turn it on, it is scalding hot and you have to wait for it to cool off. The water never actually gets cold so its nice that there are plenty of ice trays for drinks in the freezer!

Great, Big Apartment - Well Located/Couple Issues

Great stay during summer week. Huge apartment, clean and well furnished. Perfect location to get to anything in this lake front town. Only 2 issues - 1) there are active train tracks a few feet away and at least 1 train went by every night - very slowly and blowing the horn a lot. Our teenagers never woke up as a result (lol), but my wife and I did. 2) The plumbing is a mess - during showers all 4 of us experienced wild temperature swings including suddenly scalding hot water. Low pressure throughout. But for the money - the size, location and quality outweighed the few issues.

Awesome trip with family

We stayed for a golf weekend, perfect location for hitting the downtown East Tawas vibe. Everything was great- we even had a pizza both nights for a snack during the playoff hockey games. We will definitely return for our next golf outing.

Girls weekend away. This place was amazing!!!! We love goming yo East tawas and usually stay at the hotel. Found this gem and I will definitely here again. Very clean great location and plenty of room!!!!! Bonus above the Gs pizza and will deliver.

Apartment was clean and fairly large. Restaurant / Bar downstairs is very good. Lots of stairs to climb to get to unit. Only big negative is the late night freight trains which pass within a few yards of the building.

East Tawas vacation

This was a lovely property in a great location. We enjoy being close to town and on the lake at the same time! Property was clean and exactly as shown on line. If we had to come up with a single improvement it would be to supply a few more dishes in the kitchen. We found ourselves running out and having to wash. Excellent place

We had a great stay. The property is clean, lots of room for 6 of us. Great location downtown with walking distance to shops, restaurants and the pier. Easy access but 26 steep stairs to reach the unit. The seniors in our party had a difficult time with the steps. Unit is clean but be sure to bring your own toiletries, soap, shampoo, etc.. I would rent the unit again.

The advertisment stated that there would be three areas for parking for the tenants, actually there is no reserved parking area for the tenants. Parking is all public parking and during busy times of the day, this makes it very challenging. The apartment is very large. Housekeeping could be improved. Dirty wine glass in the great room, cob webs in the corner of the master bathroom. Drain was slow in the master bathroom sink. Kitchen was stocked well with equipment. I would recommend this to those that are young and able to climb stairs, there are 26 steps up to the apartment.

Great Location....but....

The condo had a great location: right across the street from a beach, pier, and marina. It was right around the corner from all the charming shops and above a delicious pizza place, **bonus ice cream right next door! However, there was no patio, patio furniture or assigned parking spaces that were listed as amenities. Also, it was a little sparse on the basics: paper towel, toilet paper, towels, etc. While we weren't expecting all the bells and whistles, a new more basics (like paper products) would have been appreciated. That being said.....our family had a lot of laughs and time together, just what we went for.

Nice weekend in East Tawas

The unit looks just like the photos, albeit a little worn, but is still nicer than the hotel across the street. Issues, master bath was missing a towel bar, toilet paper fixture was missing the center piece so toilet paper was an a small stand alone rack not made for toilet paper, but functional. Bring your own facial tissues, hand soap, shampoo. Coordinate showers, as water temp changes quickly as others use water while you are showering. Street entrance and 26 step stairway could use a good cleaning. Beds and linens were clean and comfortable. Apt was certainly very acceptable and you can't beat the location. Easy access to the beach, town and main road. Lots of entertainment options, although could use some instructions on how to use tv's, air conditioners and hooking up to Wi-Fi. The positives outweigh the negatives. We will certainly consider this unit for next year's trip to East Tawas, although, we will bring a few extra items to make it more like home.

Big & Convenient

This place is spacious, comfortable and super convenient to everything, most shops and restaurants are in walking distance, you cannot beat the location! The beach is right across the street with a great view out the living room window. This was 4th of July weekend and really busy, never got a close parking space until the evening. Nothing marked for designated parking spots for the rental (or at least I was not told where) so we hauled all our stuff from the very back of the parking lot up all the stairs. Stairs are o.k. if you are in decent health. The sleep number bed in the master is very comfy and the other 2 bedrooms were nice & both had TV's., cable stations are limited so bring your Firestick or Roku. Not many bath towels, no beach towels, dish towels, limited cooking utensils, plates/bowls, spices etc. so make sure to bring your own if you have a bigger group of people! Bring ice too, there is not an icemaker as listed. I think the big sectional may have been reclining at one time but is disabled (so no reclining). Balcony/grill/patio furniture listed are not really usable so you may not want to count on grilling or sitting outside. A few tweaks and this place would be 100%!

Lots of Misrepresentation

Let me start by saying I was born and raised in East Tawas, Michigan so I am aware that there are no 5 star accommodations available and we were not expecting any. Upon arriving at the property we realized it is an apartment that is located on top of a pizza shop. This was not stated anywhere in the property description and resulted in an ambiance and smell in the apartment of, you guessed it, pizza. Not the end of the world since I could eat pizza every day of the week, but it should be stated in the property discription. After we ascended the steep and very long stairway we were pleased to see that the apartment was clean and well equipped. The beds were very comfortable and the sofa sectional pictured in the property discription was the most comfortable sofa I think I've ever sat on. The "balcony" as it was described is actually a 3 foot wide area that runs the length of the building and is literally on top of the pizza shop roof, so the view consists of the bay on the horizon and the business lights, ventilation units and other mechanical machinery directly in front of you. Oh and the lights. The business building lights are directly in front of you so be prepared to pull shades and still have them shining into the living room and master bedroom. A bit reminiscent of the Seinfeld episode where Kenny Rodgers chicken restaurant lit up Kramers room in a red hue. Our first morning there the refrigerator was not working, and due to the fact it was Thanksgiving day and the property owner had told me the day before he would be out of town for Thanksgiving, we purchased a cooler and iced the food we had. The next day, which was Black Friday I did email him and let him know of the problem and he did replace the refrigerator while we were out during the day. Still, one would expect that would have been caught during a pre arrival check. The owner did extend an offer of an extra days stay or a free pizza. Not sure how those values equal each other but we obviously could not extend our stay as we were going back home. We did decide to take the free pizza offer, however the owner never called me back to make the arrangements so we invested $32 into the Tawas economy by purchasing the pizza ourselves. When combined with aggravations like the heat either being smoking hot or freezing cold, vents from the pizza shop being directly outside the bedroom window, lots of traffic noise and no reserved parking, the value of this property stay quickly disappeared.

Perfect

This was the best place I’ve ever found to rent in Tawas! So CLEAN, roomy and literally the perfect location. The master bedroom is huge with a super comfy king bed. Each room has its own AC unit!!! The kitchen was well stocked with pots pans cups plates, etc. There is zero noise from the restaurant below and no food smell. Check in was a breeze and the owner was super responsive during our stay. I can’t wait to come back. This is the only place I’ll stay from now on!

Very comfortable and Fun location

This place is just as described and shown in the pictures but even more spacious in person. It is a great location if you want to explore the area, with a fantastic view. Very clean and comfortable for spending time with family, if the weather keeps you inside. As other reviewers have noted, the water temperature and pressure is a bit wonky. There is also a very steep staircase to enter the space. However my 94 year old Mom was able manage the stairs. We could smell pizza but considered that a bonus! Overall, would stay here again in a heartbeat!
