The hosts, Kelly and Catherine was the best. We had a staff retreat and enjoyed the property. We were welcomed in such a gracious manner by the hosts. We are booked for another event and looking forward to staying at this property again.

This is the second year that we have had our annual company picnic at the Red Barn Oak Retreat, and we will be back next year. Great facilities surrounded by beautiful views of the Texas hill country allowed our team members to relax and recharge.

Country Gem

Our stay at the Red Barn Oak Retreat couldn't have been better! We had my wife's surprise retirement party for 60 at the venue and that in itself was amazing! A smaller group of friends and family stayed overnight afterwards at the two rental homes and they were fabulous as well. Spacious, updated and with everything we could have wanted. The location is close to the city but feels like a country getaway. I highly recommend it!

Wonderful experience for me and my friends. Two chairs in the dining room have wobbly legs. One broke when someone sat in it. We moved them toward the back wall. Pool table cover exuded a strong plastic smell that permeated that half of Mulberry house. The game room needs to be aired out.

Unless you're close family who does not require any privacy and can handle sewage smell for a week, this is not the place for you. I wanted to love this place, brought my team corporate team of 7 for an annual planning retreat who all said they would not return. Beds are in living spaces, bedroom doors with glass and no curtains, blinds with missing pieces as well as concrete floors without a single rug. The property was fine, but not what I was expecting. Outdoor fire pits are electric and right next to the house, cockroaches inside. We couldn't decide which house to stay in as one literally smelled of dead animal and other had beds that collapsed into themselves. So much potential but the place really missed the mark. Not a retreat in my opinion, barely a step up from camping.

Two families, friends for years before becoming eventual business partners, started Red Barn Oak Retreat when discovering they both had a passion for personal and professional growth in unique spaces. They named the Retreat after the oldest oak tree on the property, found in the middle of a cluster of rustic red barns.
