About this property

Tranquil 5 Br North Fork Retreat With Pool And Huge Yard, Walk To Beach

Our beautiful home in Cutchogue, on Long Island's North Fork, is located on a very quiet, woodsy street. The house has five bedrooms and two and a half baths, and is perfect for two families or an extended clan. Upstairs are the master bedroom with king-sized bed; kids' room with two twins and a trundle; and third bedroom with queen-sized bed. Full and half-baths upstairs, as well as a fully stocked kitchen (stove, dishwasher, fridge, microwave, toaster oven, and full set of spices, condiments, and indoor/outdoor service), living room, formal dining room, and family room with TV, cable, Netflix, Apple TV, game cart, and more.

Downstairs is a bedroom with two twins and a toddler bed (convertible back to crib); and a very large bedroom with a queen-sized bed and plenty of room for a pack-and-play. There is a also a full bath downstairs, and an enormous playroom stocked with books, games, a ping-pong table, dollhouse, art supplies, and more.

Outside is a full acre of flat, grassy lawn and a private, fully fenced pool with shaded table and chairs, lounges, pool toys, etc; and a 'summer house' -- a small, round room with electricity and screened windows, with table that seats 10 for meals.

The local beach, with playground, lifeguards, restrooms, and picnic tables, is a short walk away (10-15 minutes depending on how slow you walk/your stroller rolls). Our private community beach is just 1/10th of a mile further along.

It's a wonderful place for fishing, walking, shell fishing, swimming, and all-around relaxing, breathing, and connecting.

Preference is for two-week minimum stays, but full weeks-10 days considered. The house is a two-hour drive from most New York City locations; walking distance (just under a mile) from the Hampton Jitney stop in Cutchogue, and a short drive to the LIRR stations in Mattituck or Southold. Surrounded by vineyards, farms, and beaches. There is a pack-n-play at the house, as well as a safety gate, booster seats, and about a million beach toys.

Great stay on the North Fork
We came in to town for a family reunion and Amy’s place was absolutely perfect for our group of adult cousins (while we didn’t bring our kids on this trip, I would gladly bring them another time- the house has lots of kid friendly amenities!). There was plenty of space for our large group, the house was well appointed, and the location convenient. Amy was a fantastic host, very easy to communicate with and overall helpful. I highly recommend this property to anyone looking to stay in Cutchogue!

Great North Fork Getaway
House perfectly fit our needs. Kids especially loved the pool, spacious lawn, and ping pong table. Walking distance to a beautiful beach and a super close drive to great wineries and farm stands.

Wonderful stay for a family vacation
We had a lovely stay at this home. It easily accommodated our group of 6 adults and 2 kids. The rooms are spacious and the basement is a great space for a family with young kids - plenty of room to spread out and toys galore. Many items for babies and young children. Other highlights include the absolutely amazing pool and beautiful beach (which we mostly had to ourselves). It is about a fifteen minute walk and there are also bikes in the garage for a quicker trek. The home itself is a little older and not very renovated, so if you’re looking for something super modern this might not be it for you. For a more rustic laid back family trip with room to spread out this is a great place. Amy also sent many great local recommendations. The house is in a great central spot to explore all areas of the North Fork.

About the host

We are four city-dwellers who happen to be nature lovers. Our daughters are 13 and 10, and love to swim, run, dance, collect seashells, make fairy houses, eat snacks and make stuff. Our uncluttered, family-friendly house is perfect for people who enjoy the mix of tranquility and activities--including farms, vineyards, swimming, fishing, kayaking, farm-visiting, beach combing, hayride-taking and carousel-riding--to be found on the North Fork of Long Island.

Why they chose this property

After spending several summers renting in the area, we decided to buy our dream home on the North Fork. We couldn't imagine a better place to connect with our kids and with the outdoors, and when we found this property--a perfect mix of huge grassy lawn, old shade trees, a sparkling pool, five bedrooms and walking distance to the beach--we knew it was the one.
