Charming but rustic
The house by the water is undeniably charming, but there are some aspects that might be dealbreakers for others: 1. Unfinished stairwell. The front door opens to an unfinished stairwell which is alarming at first arrival. Once upstairs, the house is cute with decent amenities and comfortable furniture. There is a pleasant view of the water but that also includes your lively neighbors. 2. Misleading Kayaks: The listing includes enticing pictures of 2 kayaks with the water as a backdrop. They are locked up and unavailable for use. Had we know this, we would have brought our own so we could have at least enjoyed the water. Including photos of inaccessible amenities is misleading. 3. The house is rustic to the point of needing pest control. No grill which was disappointing but the kitchen is well-equipped which was a silver lining. Future renters should weigh these pros and cons to decide if this home meets their vacation needs. My final note is Vacasa is one of the most unorganized and difficult rental companies to work with. This is our second rental with them and will be our last. They don’t communicate well with renters, owners etc and don’t care about the homes. Maybe the owners don’t as well and it’s a perfect match but not for us.
