This stylish 1913 craftsman is perfect for family vacations, group trips or a couple's escape. Situated directly on Lake Michigan you can enjoy breathtaking views from the home and recently constructed deck. The primary bedroom features a new bathroom and magnificent views of the lake.
There are three workspaces perfect for "work from home". Finish your day by relaxing in the hot tub, hammock or by the fire. The home is located in a historic neighborhood just 1 hour and 20 minutes from Chicago and 45 minutes from Milwaukee. Enjoy a walk down nearby College Ave and enjoy the remarkable architecture.
You can access the lakefront from a recently constructed staircase in the back yard. The shoreline is rocky but swimming and kayaking is permitted. We provide a 2 person kayak and lifejackets for your use. There are also two lakefront parks within walking distance to the house, one with a small beach.
This house was built in 1913, was significantly remodeled in 1963, and then again recently. Look closely for some original features including servant bells and the dumbwaiter (now a laundry chute).
There is not central air conditioning, however all of the windows open and the lake breezes keep it much cooler than even one block west. There are window AC units or wall units in every bedroom and the living room.
Outdoor amenities include grill, hammock, hot tub, fire table and solo stove.

Our host was fantastic—very welcoming and helpful throughout our stay. The place was clean, comfortable, and just as described. We really appreciated the great communication and would definitely stay again.”
We enjoyed a wonderful stay at this lovely property perfectly suited for our needs. The sunrises and then evenings in the open living space was great. Good places for game playing and just hanging out. Absolutely loved many of the small touches (record player, wobbly shot glasses, etc….) It is even close enough to walk downtown for dinners and drinks.
Great house! 6 adults and plenty of room for us all. Clean, charming home right on Lake Michigan. Conveniently located for everything from Kenosha to Milwaukee. Great response and communication from property owner. Would definitely stay here again when in the area.
We loved the house! Warm and Inviting!I grew up on that beautiful lake and all it took was one wave crashing on the breakwater to bring back a flood of memories. This was a Christmas treat for our Aged Mother who grew up just down the block and Lake Michigan was her back yard playland growing up with her siblings... You could see the memories stir in her smile as she looked out the large picture window. We sat with a roaring fire in the fireplace and talked about all kinds of family here and gone till the wee hours of the morning! This is a great house for anyone looking to build upon their own recollections and sit back one day and remember the new experiences made here...
A small group of friends and I celebrated a birthday for a weekend here, and we loved it! The house is beautifully decorated (great for pictures) and had everything we needed. We loved the record player and backyard space. Thanks Daniel for the great stay!
Wow! What a great house. So clean and probably the most well equipped house I’ve rented. We loved how spacious and comfortable it was and really enjoyed listening to older albums that I haven’t seen in years! We enjoyed hanging at the house, grilling, fire and hot tub each night while hearing the sound of the water against the shoreline. Thank you for a wonderful stay! The owner is very responsive to any questions.
Our group of friends had the best time at this cozy, character-filled home. A well-appointed kitchen and large dining table made for great meals, and the living room had lots of comfortable seating, perfect for curling up with a book with the a beautiful view of Lake Michigan. The home is located in a neighborhood with lots of cool historic homes - we enjoyed walking the area. The cherry on top of our stay was the hot tub. Perfect for this chilly weather! Finally, we really appreciated that our host was highly communicative, ensuring we had a great stay. Would recommend!
The owners instructions were clear, simple, and checking in and out was really easy. It would be easy for me to go on and on about the view (it really is that cool), but I need to mention the house too. We loved the decor, and the games and record player were a fun touch too. We didn't cook, but the kitchen is stocked with just about everything you'd need to make whatever you want. This place would be awesome for a summer cookout. Oh, and the spa bathroom is pretty sweet too. Overall, if you're considering this place, just get it. Just not when I'm traveling there - haha.
The house is a dream! Very cozy yet spacious, with so much warmth & character. Beautiful back yard and porch with breathtaking views of Lake Michigan. Inside was perfect for our group of five adults with plenty of sleeping options and super comfy beds! The kitchen is perfectly stocked with all you could need for cooking! Loved the way this place is decorated - the hosts have created such an inviting space and are super responsive! This place will be a 12/10 once the stairs are built that will give direct access to the lake. Great places to walk to tho!
My family came together here from 3 different states. It was the perfect location. Chose here for the lakefront. View was beautiful. Was in hopes the steps from the bluff would have been completed but had not even been started. Plenty of room for our group of 7 for sleeping, cooking and dining…inside and out, and ample comfy sitting areas. Grill was great…used two nights. New washer and dryer was used by all. Luckily we brought our own games. Was counting on the Keriug and pods for our arrival but was not on site. Clean, quite neighborhood. No privacy from the neighbors from the porch on the right, was a little awkward. Beach and restaurants about 3 miles away. Grocery story 15-20 minute drive. Thoroughly enjoyed our time here…comfy and cozy!

Hi Barbara,
Thank you so much for the review! We will make sure to more clearly indicate where the Keurig and the games are - we have both! We loved having you and your family at our place! Thanks again!
Everything was beautiful from the moment my family and I arrived. Danny the host reached out to us before we arrived, and during the duration of our trip just to. Are sure we were ok, and had everything we needed. I will most definitely be back for our next visit!
This house is a family favorite for us when we're in town. The kids loved it so much the first time we stayed, they wanted to use it as a backdrop for pre-wedding photos on our recent visit. They turned out great. Aside from the views and fun architecture, the house is well stocked in the kitchen, and there is plenty of fun stuff to do in the great room. And if you're there in nice weather, there is a ton of stuff outside. Also the private stairs to the beach below is really cool. We didn't use the hot tub, but it was clean and was operating when we arrived. In all, this place is worth it.
