The best revenge for hard work is harder relaxation, and the ideal getaway is The Retreat, perfect escape from the hustle, bustle, and loud noises of big-city life or for family, friends, partners, and work members to wind down and relax.

Nestled atop a bluff between Chicago and Milwaukee, The Retreat is an elegantly modern 2-story, 6 bedroom, 4 full bathroom, 4000 sq. ft. home on a ½ acre and 150' of pure unobstructed Lake Michigan tranquility.

Let the splendid sunrise be your wake-up call and Orion and Cassiopeia entertain you from the heavens at night. You will never get tired of listening to the waves crashing in or gazing at the moon shimmering upon the vastness of the lake. It comfortably sleeps 12 people and features the following:

- Full kitchen with stainless steel appliances and wine cooler
- Outdoor hot tub for up to 6-7 people (CLOSED FROM END OF NOVEMBER THRU MARCH)
- Stairway to deck at bottom of bluff (ACCESS TO LAKE BLOCKED OFF)
- 1 fire pit
- 9' professional-size pool table
- Ping pong table and treadmill are garage
- Universal gym in basement
- Weber stainless steel gas BBQ grill
- 5 fireplaces (1 wood-burning in living room, 3 gas, & 1 wood-burning outdoor). Gas fireplaces will be disabled during summer months)
- Volleyball/Golf/Badminton net
- Bluetooth wireless speaker
- Enclosed patio
- Fishing (temporary fishing permit required)
- Spacious indoor Jacuzzi overlooking lake
- Level 2 EV charger with J1772 plug; Tesla adapter supplied.
- All mattresses and bed pillows protected with anti-dust mite sheets & covers
- 1 small pet up to 40 LBS allowed with additional $200 for pet cleaning, lawn repair & maintenance fee. Guests must disclose they are bringing a pet or there will be a $400 penalty if pet hair is found.

The bedding breakdown for 6 bedrooms are:

1- Master bedroom: 1 king
2- 2nd floor 2nd bedroom: 2 queens
3- 2nd floor 3rd bedroom: 1 queen
4- 1st floor big bedroom: 2 queens
5- 1st floor small bedroom: 1 twin
6- Basement bedroom: 1 queen & 1 sleeper sofa

*DISCLOSURE: 2 exterior Ring cameras: 1 on front door and 1 facing driveway. 1 Amazon Alexa device in family room. Simply unplug if you don't want to use Alexa.

Guest will be provided with keypad code within 48 hours prior to arrival that matches the last 4 digits of their cellphone number. This code will only be valid during your reservation dates.

The retreat is located near the following sites:

- 5 minutes to golf course, public beach, Forest Preserve, and park with 3 playgrounds.
- 15 minutes to Racine & Kenosha Art museum and downtown area- 10 minutes to shopping centers.
- 20 minutes to Recplex water park for boating, canoeing, swimming, etc.
- 45 minutes to downtown Milwaukee, Lake Geneva, Key Lime Cove water park and Great America.
- 60 minutes to Chicago.

The # 1 rule is to enjoy yourselves. There are no unreasonable house rules like other home owners might impose but I do request the following:

1- No smoking in the house but smoking permitted in patio area.
2- No loud music, yelling, screaming, or cursing loudly outdoors which neighbors have complained about in the past.
3- No jumping on the furniture which could cause damage.
4- No food or beverages inside hot tub.
5- Clean hot tub with pole net and BBQ grill with brush before vacating.
6- Bring trash bins to pick up area by Thursday night for Friday morning pick-up.

I do post notes around the house to let guests know what or how to use something.

Off-season rates (Jan-Feb) start at:

Weekend: starting at $750 for up to 3 nights.
Weekly: starting at $1650

Fees:

- $250 cleaning/laundry fee.

Extra Fees:

- $200 smoking of any kind inside the house.

- $200 per pet/pet hair cleaning/landscape repair fee up to 40 LBS only. This pays for deep pet cleaning fee in case the next group has allergies and lawn repair from pets. ***You must disclose of any pets so we can hire extra cleaning help or there is a $400 non-disclosure pet fee.***

- $75 droppings/urine fee incurred if you don't clean up and/or leave pet waste bags inside the home so please clean up after your pet and throw away pet waste bags outside.

- $75 hot tub draining/cleaning/refilling/heating fee will be assessed for 3-night reservations if water is left cloudy or murky. This fee is waived for longer reservations. No eating, drinking, or smoking inside hot tub allowed. Before and after pictures will be sent as proof so there are no misunderstandings. Please note this is a cleaning fee and NOT a usage fee.

- $75 cleaning for any confetti or glitter.

- $75 cleaning for any liquids or food on area rug or mattresses.

*CAVEAT: The Retreat cannot be used for loud outdoor events, wild parties, or weddings. The outdoor city noise ordinance is from sunset until 6 AM. All occupants must keep outdoor noise level and activities to a minimum during these hours. Use of outdoor hot tub is not permitted after sunset and large fire pit is not permitted after 11 PM, but use of small fire pit is permitted at all times.
