Villa Castelos .

The holiday was quiet as we wanted it to be, the Villa is located in quiet surrounds close to 2 villages, the accomodation was lovely and easy to find from the airport, and the staff were very helpful when required. The villa provides all that is required and we even received Anglia Television. We had a fantastic time, and we are certainly looking forward to going again.

Excellent stay - would come again

This is an outstanding property and exactly as advertised. The house is spacious, ultra clean and comfortable; nothing is lacking. The pool was great and much needed during the hot summer. The location is good; in a nice neighborhood that it is a little “off the beaten track” but pretty easy with a car. The hosts and house manager are easy to comunicate with. Good job all round.

Location pas à la hauteur de nos attentes

Nous allons au Portugal depuis + de 15 ans, et louons chaque année des villas. Cette année restera dans nos mémoires. Tout d’abord à notre arrivée (samedi 10/08) la piscine était floue (algues), malgré l’intervention du propriétaire en Angleterre pour arranger la situ, nous n’avons pu en profiter que le lundi A-M car le pisciniste a dû faire plusieurs interventions (il n’y a même pas de douche extérieure). Sur 7 jours nous avons perdu 2 jours (pas top) Sans compter que la piscine se détériore (perd des morceaux de carrelages, fissures, traces de moisissures). La maison qui doit avoir une vingtaine d’années, se détériore aussi, on voit bien qu’elle n’est pas entretenue (façades des meubles de cuisine se décollent, un trou dans le mur de la chambre parentale, des climatisations qui ne fonctionnent pas bien et qui ne doivent pas être révisées), sans compter qu’il nous a fallu appeler le propriétaire en Angleterre pour qu’il nous enlève la programmation des climatiseurs car sinon notre séjour se serait fait dans la douleur. Cote jardin, l’environnement extérieur qui compte beaucoup car durant les vacances on y passe 70% de son temps, il ne fait pas rêver (lampes solaires partout qui ne fonctionnent pas, rien de charmant, herbe synthétique). Et c’est sans compter que le barbecue n’avait pas été nettoyé (graisse sur la grille avec aliments collés) En conclusion pour 1 semaine à + 3600€ (+ les frais de change) C’est trop cher limite du vol. À éviter….

Morning Gillaume Regarding the swimming pool, Portugal has suffered with excessive hot weather this year, and as soon as we were notified of the Algae problem, the pool man attended, and no more problems occurred during your stay. The pool shower was stolen by poor people last May, (As was our water supply was also stolen in March/April & we finished up with a water bill of E743.00) we only noticed this in May & this is to be replaced in September/October when we revisit. Air conditioning is normally only on in the evenings as this has been abused by earlier visitors, who were using it during the day time & then leaving the doors/windows open and damaging the units, on your arrival we managed to override the system for you, so your stay with us was more enjoyable. I must say your interpretation of English to French was excellent. I am an electrician by trade & have recently improved the solar lighting outside (To avoid light pollution) to the environment, as before the external lighting was abused & left on (Day & Night) so this cannot happen anymore. Apologies regarding the BBQ, the previous guests using the villa should always clean the BBQ before leaving?? The garden is a natural garden using plants not requiring lots of fresh water, we are restricted on the amount of water we are allowed to use in the summer months. Sorry for the excessive costs for your visit, I will privately contact you to discuss this, and you will see this is out of our control. R & G

Perfect Family hoilday home

Stayed recently, really enjoyed the Facilties offered in the villa, the underfloor heating was really pleasant in the evenings, better than we expected. Would love to return in the near future. Neil Yellop
