This Kiawah Island vacation rental offers a private pool and spa, golf course views, and is situated in the exclusive Vanderhorst Plantation. The home is just a 12-minute walk from the beach.
The main level features an open living space with access to the back deck and pool overlooking the golf course. The living area offers plenty of comfortable seating and a flat-screen TV. The updated kitchen features custom cabinetry, tile backsplash, a center island, and an elevated bar with four bar stools. The light-filled dining area offers a long, elegant table with seating for ten. A game room offers a pool table, sitting area, and wall-mounted flat-screen TV. A sitting room off of the foyer features a desk, library, and table for four.
The main floor primary suite features a king bed, sitting area, flat-screen TV, views of the golf course, and private bathroom with double sinks and separate bathtub and shower. Three additional bedrooms - two king bedrooms and one queen bedroom are located on the second level and offer private bathrooms, TVs, and golf views.
The home is equipped with washer, dryer, and high-speed wireless internet.
Please be advised that the garage is not available for use. Guests are not permitted to park in, store items in, or access the garage during their stay.
The dimensions of the pool are 10' x 25'.
The pool has a gas heater, so the pool may be heated in cooler months for an additional fee of $75 per day for the entire stay. It can take 24-48 hours for the pool water to reach the optimal temperature of 85-87 degrees. When the air temperature falls below 55 degrees, typically November-March, pool heaters have difficulty achieving the optimal temperature. In this case, pool heating will not be available. The spa can be heated for an additional fee of $75 per day for the entire stay. Contact us directly to add spa heating to your reservation.
Guest reservations of 4 to 21 nights come with a valuable credit to use towards beach gear rentals during your stay! The credit amount for this property is $300. Love the house, property management can improve pre-check process
Came for Kiawah Island Marathon with 5 runners out of the group. We specifically always get a house with a hot tub for post race muscle treatment. The house was fantastic and even more flexible and open than advertised!When hot tub not working, property mgmt could not get contractors to get hot tub working. I do have to say they stepped up after the fact and reimbursed us for an appropriate settlement… Friendly reminder to press the property mgmt company to assure, prior to arrival, that, if you need a specific feature, they assure it is completely functional prior to arrival since their contractors do not work weekends

Please again accept our apologies for the unfortunately situation with the spa heater breaking down. We had received no previous reports of issues, but regrettably, maintenance issues do unexpectantly occur and we can only address them to the best of our ability when they happen. While the technicians do certainly work weekends, the marathon event is a special circumstance where the island limits contractors from access. While we are sorry that we were not able to do more to assist with this, we were glad to be able to provide a significant refund for your inconveniences.
House and hot tub are great. Minor cleanliness issues, most notably pet hair covering sectional sofa had to be vacuumed before we could use it. This is listed as a no pet property. Downstairs sheets were stained and drain downstairs was very slow. Kitchen towels and Kleenex would be nice. Stains in pool room carpet and master bedroom closet should be cleaned. But overall property was wonderful for our group and addressing these items would make it perfect. I did report the pet hair to rental company on our first day, but found vacuum cleaner and cleaned it ourselves. Credit for bikes was most appreciated. We would book again.

The home was awesome! We loved it upon entering the front door! The rooms were larger than they appeared to be in pictures on website. The kitchen was large and well stocked with everything needed in a kitchen. The pool was but mostly in the shade and I wish they had cushions on the lounge chairs. Other than that, it was a great experience!

This is a lovely home and was located as described. That said, the kitchen is overdue for a through inspection. I rented this home because of the lovely kitchen photos and the brand of appliances. However, the oven racks don't operate; the refrigerator/freezer needs attention; and the main sink needs an operable faucet. I could not recommend this home to a friend or family until/unless the above issues are resolved.

Thank you for your feedback. As advised during your stay, there was a small leak in the faucet that would require the entire faucet being replaced to fix. The owners and our team worked to find one that matched the appliances in the home. That faucets is being installed today. Unfortunately, I don't see that we were previously made aware of any issues with the refrigerator, freezer or over. I have passed your comments to our team so they are able to investigate and address as needed. We hope that you were able to enjoy your time on the island despite these issues.

This was our second stay at this property. So we knew the house and its location well, and we were not disappointed. There were a couple of maintenance issues that arose during our stay, and AkersEllis was on those issues in a matter of 2-3 hours. And they were quickly resolved. For our next Kiawah stay, we will use AkersEllis again..

The title above summarizes in brief our feeling about the time we had at 115 Bufflehead. The home was spacious, allowed privacy when desired, had a very well supplied kitchen, and the pool was perfect. Two young children spend most of their time in the water!! The beach was about a 10-15 minute walk via Boardwalk #38. And the beach at that location was not very crowded. To close, this was a wonderful home in a great location. We did not even have time to venture out onto the golf course!!

A very nice home with unique features. The address is close beach access. It seems the main entry level rooms look like they have been recently upgraded. There is a pool table and a table hockey which was used and enjoyed. The upper floor seemed a little dated, but not a major issue.The house was clean and very functional. This address is not close to beach parking, so it required a little logistics to get the non-bike riders to and from the beach. It's doable and we worked it out.

WONDERFUL! This was our family's third year in a row to stay at this particular house. There are just so many reasons why... 5 minute scenic bike ride to a secluded stretch of absolutely beautiful beach, spacious kitchen/dining area with extra ice machine, beverage fridge, large laundry/drop area, pool table and hockey table, swimming pool out back with golf course view (and assorted wildlife!), comfortable bedrooms with private baths, comfortable seating, house layout, and of course Akers Ellis as the rental company is always there for you and so fast to respond. The gear rental they provided this year was an extra plus! And yes, we are repeating this vacation at this house next year! We can't wait!

The home is very well laid out. The house plan is great for a larger group. A little far from the beach to walk for our group with baby and toddler. I recommend biking to the beach. The bathrooms need updating. Some cleanliness issues with the bath mats(dirty) and bathtubs/showers (hairs and stained grout). The pool/porch is very nice as well as the laundry room and living room. Kitchen is stocked very well. Things that need attention: bathroom updates needed, all mattresses are too firm, bed linens, bugs in the house, fridge does not keep stuff very cold, several dirty dishes in the cabinets.

The size and amenities worked very well for our family. It had the nicest selection of kitchen things we have ever had. The downstairs bedroom could use some updating such as new carpet and there were more than average bug issues in it. The main floor and upstairs were very nice. Upstairs showers could be updated. Outdoor furniture not very comfortable compared to 116 Bufflehead where rest of family stayed. Everyone loved pool table. Would have been nice if small bar of soap provided in baths until we got to store. Master downstairs was very pretty and comfortable. Akers very responsive to a shower leak we had.

Our family has vacationed at Kiawah Island for fifteen years, and this house was beautifully decorated, comfortable and very nicely located on a private street. We were very happy with the home and it’s amenities.
Overall this home was lovely and met our expectations. It was very spacious with lots of space for all of us to hang out together, as well as space to have quiet time if desired. We loved the pool table room and have some new pool sharks on our hands. The kitchen was well stocked with everything we needed for cooking. There was an abundance of all kinds of glasses and too much silverware to count. There are 3 dishwashers and an extra ice maker which were quite handy. The pool was nice to relax in after day at the beach or on the golf course. We couldn't get the spa/hot tub to work, but that was not a big deal for us. There was plenty of parking in the driveway for our 4 cars. A few minor things were that the beach access was not as convenient as we would have liked/expected and the sky lights in the kitchen are due for a good cleaning. The biggest complaint was from the couple in the ground level master suite. The room is large with a king bed and sitting area and the bathroom itself is huge, but apparently the shower was quite small and hard to maneuver around (a.k.a shave your legs) and the shower head was twisted to one side (this is what they told me, but I personally did not look at it). Overall this house is nearly perfect and we would happily stay again when we return next year.

Hi Robert, Thank you for your feedback. We really wish you hadn't have run into so many hiccups while you were here and truly hope they did not take away from your overall Kiawah Island experience. When you notified us of the TV service not working, we did try to work with the owners to get it fixed. On a positive note, one TV still had the service working and two of the other TVs in the property were smart TVs and gave you access to Netflix, Amazon Prime, etc. so your group was not completely without TV entertainment for the 4 days. While you paid for pool heat, you did not pay for spa heat. If you look at the property description and the rental agreement that you signed, those are 2 separate charges. We have property managers actually out on the island 7 days a week and would have been happy to drop off extra towels for your stay had we known your group needed more. The third party bike company did run into a small issue with the Town of Kiawah regarding the bikes on the day they were supposed to be delivered. We are very sorry about the delivery delay but can say that that issue has now been corrected. Please feel free to reach out to our office if you would like to discuss these issues in any more depth.

Lovely stay at Bufflehead Drive
We have stayed on this particular street in the past and really enjoy the location. Pool and spa area was beautiful and used daily. Inside of home was nice- exactly as pictured. We had a wonderful time spending time with family in South Carolina!

Peaceful, quiet, tranquil...
We have visited Kiawah a few times as well as other island homes. 115 was quiet and relaxing for the whole family. PRO’s - quite and spacious, enough room to find a quiet space if you want alone time. Great kitchen and the small amenities. CON’s - housekeeping needs improvement, “dust bunnies”/bottles under beds, crumbs/debris in couches, but most improvement would to get rid of black mold on AC vents.
Overall we did not let the con’s deter our time together.
