The house was nice upstairs, but the downstairs room had a strong smell of moth balls and chemicals. It was so strong, our clothes would also start to smell like the room. You also have to go outside to use the restroom downstairs. This place will not sleep 10 people unless you have people sleep on a couch. No pull out bed. The worst part was the ants inside the house! We all got bit by ants! They were everywhere. Upstairs and down stairs. If you left clothes or anything out of the floor or the tables the ants would get to them. My kids left some swimming clothes on the floor, and when they put them back on they got bit a few times. They definitely need pest control or something.

Last Minute Trip

Overall a fine stay. Before booking we messaged the owner about the photos not matching the room description-but after 48 hours we still had no response. We took a chance on the booking. There are two queen mattresses and one king. While the description mentions a twin in one of the queen rooms. I had to call the property manager and she stated that they don’t get the Vrbo messages for a couple of days and it’s better to use the text link when booking to communicate. The shower handle on the top floor was broken and we had to use pliers to adjust the temperature of the water. The left sink drain also needed to be lifted to let the water drain properly. The dock lights and laundry room light was out. The trash was full from the last people who rented and we worried about the trash because it wouldn’t be taken out until Thursday. We tightened a doorknob.Once we talked with management, the lady they sent said they couldn’t fix the handle due to waiting on a part, the trash would be taken out by bags if needed from her, and she would be back to fix the dock and laundry room lights (she did).All of those were minor, but an adjustment during our trip.The area is quiet and peaceful. It’s also close enough to the busy areas if you want to leave the house. Make sure to read the layout. The bottom king bedroom is not connected to the bottom restroom. You’ll have to take a step outside to use the restroom-which isn’t ideal if mosquitoes bother you. Overall, a nice stay.
