About this property
Lake Gaston Dream Come True
PLEASE NOTE: During the peak season (June, July, and August), we only rent for full weeks, from Saturday to Saturday.
The name of our house is "Dream Come True," and it has truly been a dream come true. Our home can make your dreams come true, too! Bring your family and friends for a relaxing vacation on Lake Gaston. Our house is located in the popular Pea Hill Creek area. We have all the comforts of home and a wonderful lake in the backyard. The gently sloping yard takes you to the water's edge and our boathouse. There is a vacant slip in the boathouse to tie up your boat. The boat lift in the boat slip is raised to the ceiling, allowing you to get your boat into the boat slip. We will rent the boat lift ($150) if you want to use it. We also have a small floating ramp that is a safe place to dock your jet skis. When it is not used for jet skis, turtles and ducks sun themselves on it, and watching them is fun. The water is about eight feet deep at the end of our dock, and it gently slopes back to a few inches of water at the shoreline. Additionally, there is a boat ramp/launch at the end of our road for the neighborhood (you and your guests) to use.
The house measures 2,500 square feet and features five bedrooms, three full bathrooms, and two kitchens equipped with full-size appliances. Additionally, high-speed wireless internet is available throughout the house for those who may need to work remotely.

About the host
Hosted by Brian and Jean Creede
Brian and Jean Creede, proud North Carolina natives, are the parents of two adult children—Brandon (30) and Kristin (26). In 2000, while it was still under construction, they purchased what would become their cherished lake house retreat. Today, they reside in Raleigh, just an easy hour and a half drive from what they lovingly call their “Dream Come True!”
Why they chose this property
Lake Gaston is 20,300 acres and is 34 miles long with 350 miles of shoreline. The scenic beauty of the lake with its relaxing atmosphere and the traditional hospitality of the people creates the desire to return again and again. Boating is a never-ending delight on this beautiful lake. It is no wonder that Lake Gaston is considered one of the best lakes on the east coast.
The water of Lake Gaston is officially classified A-2, the highest category found in the eastern USA. Water Level is consistent under normal conditions and varies less than one foot. The normal temperatures allow water sports from May through September. Fishing goes on all year long on fabulous Lake Gaston. Virginia and North Carolina Wildlife Commissions stock the lake with largemouth bass, channel catfish, blue catfish, black crappie, white crappie, walleye, bluegill, white bass, striped bass, and chain pickerel.
Our property is set back from the main cove, so your family can enjoy swimming and playing near our boathouse without fear of heavy wakes or careless boaters ruining your day. Your family will also enjoy hanging out on our spacious deck. They will find it an excellent place to read or talk - maybe take in a little sun. Also, the backyard facing the water is large with a gentle slope which is great for playing ball, and the front yard is even larger. The fire pit near the shore is perfect to gather and roast marshmallows in the evenings.
If you have a rainy day, you can make a short trip to Roanoke Rapids for shopping, movies, and other entertainment. The quaint town of Warrenton has a lovely historic district with antique shops and other points of interest. In addition, you can take a tour of Rosemont Winery and Art Gallery, which is about 15 miles west of the house. There are a variety of activities that can be enjoyed around the lake. For example, you can go to the flea market on the weekends or play putt-putt golf. The area also has several golf courses available.
