- Guest Limit: Maximum occupancy of 10 guests. Please adhere to this limit to avoid HOA-related fees.

- Pet Friendly: Up to 2 dogs allowed with prior approval (pet fee applies). Exceeding this limit violates house rules and may result in early termination of the rental.

- Security & Peace of Mind: The home is equipped with a security system to help protect guests and property including, exterior motion cameras at each door. (No cameras are inside the home.)

Boathouse: No jumping or diving from the upper deck. Boats are to be docked at my boathouse and not the community boat slips.

There is a security system on the house. Any tampering with, obstructing or disabling of cameras and/or wi-fi is prohibited.

No fireworks or other potentially damaging activities in the yard. Parking is in the back of the house only. This applies to trailers and vehicles.

Was disappointed about the weeds/grass in the sandy beach area that was seen in the pictures. No beach area not able to swim around most of the dock.

Thank you for sharing your feedback. I'm sorry that the aquatic vegetation impacted your enjoyment of the lake. I completely understand that being able to enjoy clear, open water is an important part of a Lake Gaston vacation. The increased aquatic vegetation this year is a lake-wide environmental issue, not something unique to my property. The Lake Gaston Association and Lake Gaston Water Safety Council are actively working with the appropriate agencies to address the unusually abundant growth of native vegetation. Unfortunately, these efforts take time and are subject to environmental and regulatory considerations. I take great pride in maintaining my home and creating a place that guests enjoy and want to return to year after year. At the same time, one of the unique aspects of lake life is that the natural environment can change from season to season and year to year. I hope my guests are able to appreciate the beauty and character of the lake while understanding that some aspects of the natural shoreline and water are simply part of the lake experience. I appreciate you staying at my home and hope you were still able to enjoy your time at Lake Gaston.

Great property and a great host! The lot is big with a treeline on one side and the road to the community boat ramp on the other side. The three level layout was great for our family. The decor was very nice and the kitchen was stocked as well as our home. The lake views from the porches and boat house were awesome! Best boathouse we've ever used! The private beach had too much hydrilla to be useable but the small beach right next to the property line was a very nice option.

Perfect family get-a-way!! Winedown checked all our boxes: clean home, lovely quality decor, fully stocked kitchen and spice rack, comfy beds, great working appliances, lots of hot water and good water pressure, an extra powder room, fun toys like kayaks, pet friendly, lots of parking, great AC really needed this summer, boat dock with fridge and lifts and our favorite the upper boathouse deck - what a view!!! We celebrated our 56th anniv. with 3 generations of family. Everyone loved this home. Great location on the lake with very clean water. Close to FoodLion and side trips to Littleton and Roanoke Rapids for shopping. But mostly we did floatin', fishin' and boatin' every day. Our grandson caught at least 10 Gaston blue catfish ranging from 25 to 85 lbs!! He loved the thrill of the catch. Also caught bass and smaller cats for a great fish fry. Beautiful sunsets each night. Used the boathouse constantly - just love being down on the water. Oh and you will get very good exercise also just walking back and forth to the docks:) Cannot say enough good things about Winedown and Kate the owner was wonderful answering lots of questions and always being so pleasant. We highly recommend you book a stay at Winedown.

This place was perfect for what we wanted. We have stayed at two other places on this lake and this one, by far was the BEST. One bed on the third floor with a small bath and the two other floors were perfect for couples , with separate baths, beds and kitchen. So much to do in the house for kids and young adults. EASY water access and boat ramp. PERFECTION. Great host and neighbors. Very quiet. Love that!! Will certainly go again.

We had an amazing stay. The house is gorgeous with beautiful views of the water and sunsets from the dock. Our crazy kids even jumped into the freezing end of March temperature water! We enjoyed using the kayaks to go out and explore. The kitchen was equiped with everything we needed. We all learned how to play shuffle board and had some friendly competition! Fantastic place to stay!

It was just me and my husband but the house is set up wonderfully for multiple families. Two living areas and plenty of sleeping space. I enjoyed cooking every night with the help of well stocked kitchen supplies and a gas grill. Views are awesome and watched the sunset every night from the upper deck of the boat house. Learned how to play shuffleboard! Killed it! Would love to come again and maybe rent a boat. Highly recommend staying at WineDown!

Excellent communication with host. Wonderful location with enjoyable on site amenities. The kayaks, and fire-pit were particularly appreciated. The home was thoughtfully furnished and equipped for guests, and beautifully decorated. We stayed here with our children and grandchildren, and all really enjoyed it.

Beautiful place. Plenty of space for our group of 5 adults and 3 kids. Minor hiccup was learning last minute that we needed to bring our own sheets and towels. This detail is hidden all the way at the bottom of the ammeneties list and should be more clear on the listing. We would stay here again.

Perfect Family Vacation

This house is a perfect fit for our family - we just love the location and views - we hung out on the dock most of the time-fridge and sink was a bonus! It's well stocked and Kate was a great communicator - we really had a wonderful week!!

Hi! Thanks for considering my house for your vacation! I bought this property to enjoy with my friends and family when I was living in NYC and needed to have a respite from the fast pace of the city!! My friends and family are largely in the VA/NC area and so it was the perfect central location to be able to enjoy time with people I love. Since buying the house, I have relocated to NC and am able to enjoy the house much more regularly now - which has been fantastic! I travel internationally a lot and so you will see hints of my travels throughout the house. Hope you love it as much as I do!

Why they chose this property

This property has it all - a wonderful point lot with 221 feet of lake frontage, private beach areas and feels very private while still being close to the marina, the main lake, Washburn’s and local shopping area. The house is perfect for groups of friends or multiple families because its laid out with kitchen/bar and living areas on both of the main floors, with bedrooms and full baths. Plus, the boathouse! If you want sun or shade, motor boats, jet ski’s or kayaks, or just want to relax with good food and drinks, you won’t need to leave. It’s a very unique and special property! Hope you love it as much as I do!
