About this property

Nantahala River Bear Cabin

LUXURY BEAR CABIN ON THE NANTAHALA RIVER

Relax at this one of a kind luxury cabin with the best views of the Nantahala River in the gated community of Mystic River. Every room was built to appreciate the beautiful surroundings with floor to ceiling picturesque views of the Nantahala River right from your living room. Enjoy your morning coffee on the large outdoor deck cozying up next to the gas fireplace listening to the sounds of the birds chirping and the rushing white water river. You are in the middle of the Nantahala National Forest, which is a temperate rain forest. Watch the morning mist rise from the river and into the majestic mountains right in front of you. Discover your connection with nature kayaking or rafting on the Nantahala River from your own backyard. The Nantahala Outdoor Center is just a few minutes down the street to rent or book a rafting experience. There are plenty of hiking trails, waterfalls and a natural swimming hole within walking distance.

If you are looking for good food and fun, there is plenty to do right around our community. You can check out the great restaurants, local breweries, shopping, gem mining, zip lining, fly fishing, and even book a guided whitewater rafting experience at the Nantahala Outdoor Center all just a few minutes away. The Great Smokey Mountains National Park in Bryson City is only 20 minutes away and is a must visit when you are here. It has beautiful waterfalls and hiking trails but it is famous for Deep Creek tubing. So grab a large river tube near the park entrance, we recommend the ones with a bottom on it, and float down the cool waters of Deep Creek past waterfalls and swimming areas. Deep Creek is a great place to picnic and spend the day relaxing.

Our home is over 3,000 square feet with 3 bedrooms. It comfortably sleeps 6 adults and 4 children. The cabin features a luxury rustic feel with a North Carolina bear theme. The main floor has a great room with a large stone wood-burning fireplace with floor to ceiling windows overlooking the Nantahala River. You can also enjoy your favorite shows and movies on Netflix on the 50 inch smart tv in the living room or on the 65 inch smart tv upstairs. Adjacent is the dining room area with a large live edge wood slab table with views of the river through glass sliding doors that lead to the deck. A small wine cellar and wet bar is next to the large chef's kitchen which is outfitted with all your cooking utensils and high quality appliances. The kitchen has a uniquely designed island with 4 comfortable swivel hardwood barstools. Also on the main floor is the primary bedroom with sliding glass doors onto the deck overlooking the river.

The primary bedroom has a large walk-in closet and a large on suite bathroom. The bathroom has a unique stone jetted spa tub and a walk in river rock shower with multiple shower heads to give you the full spa experience. There is a log bunkbed in the master bedroom that sleeps two.

Down the hallway is a half bath located across from the laundry room with new large stackable washer/dryer and plenty of closet space. In the dining room area there are large sliding glass doors that leads to a spacious custom outdoor deck with a stone gas fireplace and wooden rocking chairs overlooking the river. Grill and chill on the outdoor deck next to the river with the propane grill and casual patio dinning table then enjoy s’mores at the outdoor fire pit steps from the river.

The upper level has a large loft area with plenty of comfortable seating for playing boardgames or reading. Adjacent is an office area with river views from the large presidential style desk and a couple leather chairs for anyone needing to work remotely. Cell service can be limited at times but thanks to Starlink we are very happy with our WiFi calling via high speed internet. Working remotely and zoom calling have not been a problem. Down the hallway is a wet bar with a microwave, sink and beverage fridge. There are two large bedrooms upstairs with one bedroom having a large on suite bathroom with a walk in shower and the other bedroom has a half bath. There is a rustic log bunkbed for children in one of the upstairs bedrooms.

Watch the sun set below the mountains as you relax on the porch swing taking in your surroundings and the serene mountain views. Come and create your own adventures and ever-lasting memories year after year with family and friends, as we enjoy doing with our family, at the Bear Cabin on the Nantahala River. #Nantahala # Nantahalariver
