About this property

Tiny Tuck - Overlooking Fontana Lake and the Great Smoky Mountains National Park

The Tiny Tuck is a reference to the Tuckaseegee River. If you're familiar with our Eagle's Nest 775023 (2/2) and Eagle's Landing 749709 (2/2), then you are aware of the views on this mountain ridge. Well this little gem is a 400 sq ft tiny house. This is where Shannon and I lived while we built the other 2 cabins. Now that we've also built and moved into our dream home, we have the opportunity to share the Tiny Tuck with you! Although the views are very similar to the other 2 homes, on the right side of Fontana Lake, around the bend, it turns into the Tuckaseegee River that flows right through downtown Bryson City. Outside, you'll find a large spacious 470 sq ft deck with outdoor furniture and breathtaking views of the lake and Great Smoky Mountains National Park. There's also a charcoal grill and fire pit with starter firewood, perfect for kicking back, star gazing, and roasting marshmallows. Inside, you'll walk into a small great room with cathedral ceilings, a full chef's kitchen, and all the comforts of home. There's a 12x18 sq ft loft, a full bathroom with tub, and a queen size bedroom. Best of all, there are breathtaking views from every window.
Be at peace knowing these homes are completely free of any toxic fragrances or chemical cleaners. There are no air fresheners, plug ins, scented candles, incense, commercial laundry soaps or fabric softeners. We wash all of the linens, shower curtains, bath mats etc. in house to insure they are cleaned without any toxic commercial soaps, stain removers, or bleach. We use non toxic cleaning supplies like Unscented Seventh Generation, BonAmi, BioKleen, peroxide, vinegar, and baking soda. This entire 12 acre property has NEVER been sprayed with pesticide. We are aware of how these toxic commercial fragrances have a burning effect on the nerves, can perpetuate a weakened immune system, deplete the nervous system, and cause several other chronic health symptoms. Rejoice in knowing that inside our homes and outside in the surrounding hundreds of acres of National Forest, clean air and oxygen are absorbed with every breath. The Tiny Tuck is located on 12 acres in Bryson City, NC. This land is bordered on 3 sides by 600 acres of the Nantahala National Forest, Fontana Lake, and the GSMNP. Lake access and pontoon rentals are available just a few short minutes from the cabin. Downtown Bryson City is just a short 12 minute drive.
Bryson City was voted one of the "Top Ten Outdoor Towns in the East" by Outdoor Magazine, one of the Smithsonian's "20 Best Small Towns to Visit", "one of the top 8 Small Towns Near Stunning Nature" by Orbitz, and Trip Advisor ranked Bryson City as "the #1 Most Beautiful Little Mountain Town in America!" USA Today also featured Bryson City as "one of the 5 Most Charming American Towns with Mountain Views and All Season Destinations." Southern Living featured our Eagle's Nest cabin (which is on the same ridge) on the cover of an article titled, "8 Secluded Southern Stays Where the Views Don't Get Any Better!"
Discover what’s great about Bryson City, a peaceful mountain town bordering the Great Smoky Mountains National Park with unique shops, galleries, lodging and restaurants. Surrounding our small town, there’s a rich vacation paradise — rafting and kayaking on the Nantahala River, boating and fishing on Fontana Lake, scenic railroad excursions, world class trout streams and mountain biking on the famous Tsali trails. We have creeks for tubing, trails for hiking, horseback riding, and beautiful waterfalls. We’re home to the Cherokee Indian Reservation and the North Carolina half of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. ..and we’re close - just an hour west of Asheville NC and 3 hours north of Atlanta GA.

Quiet without the dull roar of civilization
Hard to find a place such as this, that is quiet and as close to the natural world as Tiny Tuck. At this time of the year you could sit on the deck and not hear air conditioners, power tools, power boats, cars, etc., etc., etc. - just wind thru the trees, birds, animals and insects. Simple and well put together.

Nantahala Train Ride Trip
We also booked the Tiny Tuck cabin for our daughter and son-in-law for the train ride with our grandsons! It is absolutely the cutest cabin! So cozy! The views are also phenomenal here as well! The cabin is well-decorated! Also very easy to check in! The location is close to town but off the beaten path! So quiet and relaxing! I would definitely book this one again!

Peak Fall Foliage, Moonshine, and a Bear... Oh My!
The Tiny Tuck and its views were just breathtaking. Our visit coincided with the Smoky Mountains' peak fall foliage which made for a magical time for my wife and I as we celebrated our 25th Anniversary! Michelle and Shannon were amazing hosts. They went above and beyond for us in order to make our stay that much more memorable. If you are on the fence about staying here, don't be. The house is small, yes, but its perfect for a couple looking to get away from it all. The deck and accompanying views of Fontana Lake are just perfect. We even saw a black bear swim across the lake early one morning. We stayed 4ish days and found plenty to do in and around Bryson City. From a moonshine experience on the Great Smoky Mountain Railroad to finding sapphires at the Cherokee Ruby Mine... we did it all and can't wait to come back to the Tiny Tuck to unwind and do it all again.

My husband and I purchased 12 acres of land in 2013 surrounded by the Great Smoky Mountains National Park and the Nantahala National Forest. Little did we know (for the thick pine saplings) that we had a Million Dollar View of a Horseshoe Bend on Fontana Lake and the Great Smoky Mountains National Park! It took viewing Google Maps to see what a gem we had found. We moved to Bryson City after selling our home and printing business in Fletcher NC (close to Asheville). My husband grew up in Bryson City, and I fell in love with this "Gateway to the Smokies" town when we built a house boat at Almond Boat Park in 2013, that now floats on Fontana Lake. We purchased this tiny house to live in while we built "Eagle's Landing" 749709 and "Eagle's Nest" 775023.
This is a completely different lifestyle than we're used to, and we are incredibly Grateful for all the Love, Support, and Divine Miracles that We have been Blessed with along the way. Now that we've completed building and have moved into our dream home, we're ready to share the "Tiny Tuck" with you!

Why they chose this property

There's a Peace here that we've never felt before. This place is awe - inspiring. It almost forces you to stop in your tracks every time you look outside. We're sharing the Tiny Tuck to give our guests an opportunity to feel they're floating on water...and sometimes in the clouds. This tiny house offers all the comforts of home with a large 350 sq ft (partially covered) deck that extends out over top of Fontana Lake. From the theatrical morning sunrise to the day's last light, the show this magical place performs is ever changing and always jaw dropping.

What makes this property unique

The Tiny Tuck offers everything our larger cabins provide on a smaller scale. It accommodates 2 people comfortably, while featuring the same rare views of Fontana Lake and the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. Bald Eagles have nests close by so more than likely you'll see them flying pretty close to this home. They love to land in the surrounding trees. Often, you'll witness other animals swimming in the lake or walking on the lake banks, like deer, bear, otters, and elk. This home allows an opportunity to get immersed in nature. It provides a healing respite, a romantic hide away, a fisherman's paradise, or a 2 person get away. However you enjoy your time here, you are bound to experience the wonder of nature surrounded by singing birds, and breathtaking atmospheric changes over the Lake and Park.
