Thank you for the kind words!! We’re so glad the home exceeded your expectations and had everything you needed. We’d love to host you again next time!!
Everything about this property and the host were wonderful. It worked really well for our family including the lower level master bedroom for the small grandchildren that could shut the door and keep the house quiet in the mornings. The kitchen, deck, and common areas with coastal views great for eating and hanging out. The other bedrooms, comfortable and quiet. I would definitely rent this house again.

It was such a pleasure hosting you. I hope to host you again soon!!!
Best,
Alexis
Alexis was a very responsive host, and the property was just as accommodating. The location was perfect for walks to downtown Padanaram and everything was nice and quiet, too. It is a perfect place for a couple (even if you have a younger child) and provides plenty of comfort during the visit.
My daughter and I came in for a regatta and the Dartmouth cottage was absolutely perfect. We loved everything about it. The only negative is not having a real kitchen, but as long as people are clear that they need to provision accordingly, it is not a problem. The comfort of this home far outweighs not having a full kitchen! We loved it and would love to return!

Not quite what we expected
The "cottage" was not a cottage at all. The accommodations are located in the basement of the owner's private home and the "walk to the village" is approximately 2 miles away. That being said, it was very new, clean, quiet and safe. Great place for a weekend get-a-way but not long term as kitchen consists only of refrigerator, micro & coffee maker - no sink- so that any dishes used must be washed in the bathroom sink and are not to be used in the micro.

Joyce,
I hope you enjoyed your stay. Unfortunately there seems to be some miscommunication. It’s less than a mile to the village. The unit is attached as listed (and have no basement as I am waterfront) also listed there is no available full kitchen. There are paper plates also provided to you for your convenience so you don’t have to wash or worry about a thing in the kitchenette area.
I’m sorry it seems it did not meet all your expectations for your situation, but I hope that did not damper what a special place this area is and hope you will return to our area again soon to it enjoy it. Best,
Alexis
Much to be said about this place; where to start.First, I would never stay here for one night: it's got far too much to offer! Two nights was barely enough time, we would've loved to stay a week or more.Thoughtfully stocked, immaculately presented, this house (home) leaps off the page of a designer magazine. Very, very few things were overlooked by the host here. A cribbage board might be a fun addition to the game cupboard. The pillows are hotel quality, but the two with pillowcases were just too high for my head so I had to remove the shams and use those instead. Those of us who wore socks and no slippers found out the gorgeous stairs are a bit slippery. We improvised a drip coffee maker to make a "pot" of coffee in a mason jar. The Keurig machine was also used, but there were no additional coffee pods and we also try to avoid using them in general (we are a group of plastic warriors, so we totally appreciated all the reusable travel mugs you provide your guests!).Amazingly, three of your very tasteful art pieces were made by talented artists who work with rope - the very reason we were in New Bedford was to highlight our program of collecting fishing gear from commercial fishermen (Net Your Problem) and then getting it into the hands of those two (Wharf Warp wreath and two wall hangings by a fellow named Vasconceles) and other artists to make beautiful art!The fire pit was a perfect wind-down at the end of our intense event on Thursday.Loved the marsh!

About the host
Hosted by Alexis
I grew up spending summers on the south coast of Massachusetts and fell in love with this area. Now, I love creating a welcoming space for guests to feel at home, whether it's through cozy décor or sharing a delicious meal. In my free time, I enjoy traveling and discovering new places, which often sparks fresh ideas for making my home even more inviting. Being a host allows me to connect with amazing people, swap stories, and make everyone’s stay feel special.
Why they chose this property
I chose this neighborhood because Padanaram Village offers the perfect blend of New England charm and oceanfront beauty. It's a tranquil spot right on the water, with stunning views and the soothing sounds of the ocean. The village itself is full of history, with its quaint shops, cafes, and the picturesque harbor just a short walk away. It’s the ideal place to experience both the peacefulness of coastal living and the warmth of a close-knit community, offering guests a truly memorable stay.
What makes this property unique
Nestled just under a mile from the village center, this stunning waterfront property offers both tranquility and convenience. Enjoy breathtaking sunset views by the fire pit or launch one of three kayaks from the dock for a peaceful paddle. Perfect for morning coffee on the water or simply relaxing in serene surroundings, it’s the ideal getaway that’s quiet yet close to all the action.
