Great place to stay! We had a family of 9 and there was plenty of room and felt comfortable. The kids loved the ping pong table. I had even asked about if hair dryers were available and Annie and Travis were kind enough to provide us with 2! Our family highly recommends this place and will definitely book again in the future.
This is a clean, quiet and spacious property that my research group doing field work in the Uinta Basin has stayed in numerous times. It's got a fantastic view of the mountains and Split Mountain, and I highly recommend it.
A spacious house in a gorgeous setting close to town.
I lead 5 annual geology and paleontology field work sessions for a long-term research project in the Uinta Basin, so my students and I have stayed at many properties in the Vernal area. This house is great because it sits on a large property and is quiet with a great view of Asphalt Ridge, the Uinta Mountains, and Split Mountain/Blue Mountain. Plenty of room in the house to spread out and relax.

Bad Experience
Stayed here one night during a family trip to Dinosaur National Monument. When we checked in the bunk bed room smelled like something had died in the attic. We notified the owners and they were kind enough to give us a small credit. We left around 9:30 the next morning, shortly before 10 am checkout. At 10:01 the owner messaged us claiming we damaged the ping pong table and demanded money. "Damage" consisted of swirl marks and scratches on playing surface and side strip peeling off. All looked to be normal wear and tear for a ping pong table. None of the damage was caused by our family. Owner claims they have "proof" but what they have are close up photos of "damage" and an overall photo of the ping pong table dated "Sunday" but no specific dates on any photos. The "Sunday" photo was taken by the housekeeper. The other "damage" photos were provided by the owner. Likely that the owner hadn't been to the property in a while and came to investigate odor. For some reason rushed to the ping pong table and discovered wear and tear that had been there for some time and housekeeper had thought nothing of it because it's a ping pong table and not fine China. Owner immediately blamed last people to stay there. Alternatively, the owner could be using the same damage over and over again to extort money out of guests. I'll give the owner the benefit of doubt and assume the former, but before you stay here be aware that it could be the latter. I'd rather sleep in the car than stay here.

This experience has been unfortunate for both parties. I know we have learned some lessons, and I hope Zach has as well.
The ping pong table was brand new in May. Our housekeeper is HIGHLY observant to a compulsive level and notes every change in the condition of the home. We have experienced minor "wear and tear" damage before and we consider that part of doing business. The damage to the ping pong table was beyond this level and occurred during Zach's stay.
Initially we only inquired about the damage, and had Zach reacted with ANY sense of accountability or sympathy we would have likely written it off as an unfortunate accident. Instead Zach denied responsibility, became offended, demanded proof, and immediately pointed out we had no leverage in the situation.
We wish Zach and his family well in their future. It is regrettable that our mutual experience was so negative. It is the first negative experience we've had with a guest.
