The unit was in a great location with a great view. However, when we arrived we discovered that the roof was being worked on, which limited our easy access to the pool, caused us to have to take a detour from the parking lot to our unit, and had our sleep disturbed by pounding early in the morning. Additionally, there was excavating equipment obstructing our view of the ocean due to dredging sand to build up the beach. None of this was communicated to us prior to our stay so it didn't sit well with me. The unit itself was fantastic with lots of updates. However, we paid a premium price for the convenience and the location and this part didn't play out. We also had a run in with a neighbor who wanted to tell us what we could and couldn't do. The joy of the trip was definitely diminished by all the frustrations of construction and limited access. We did get a partial refund but communication on the front end would have been preferred. The host stated they didn't get the email from the building management. We love Ocean Reef and have stayed here for 30 years but this unit was a splurge for us to travel with extended family. The pool was awesome, as usual. The rooms were very nice and the kitchen was fully stocked. Nice, updated appliances. Minus the construction, it would have been worth the money.
