From the moment you enter you will feel the warmth from the radiant heated floors in the winter or a cool river breeze in the summer. This space is ideal for family and friends, executive team building or an artists retreat.

The Space:
Be the first guests to enjoy this brand-new duplex UNIT A (2023 completion) This historical property is located on the Soquel Creek/River between the train trestle (non-operating) and Stockton Ave bridge.

Riverview Retreat offers 2 En-Suite bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. Choose between:

-Retreat En-Suite A-
Offering a king bed with adjustable base, private bathroom, walk in closet, 55" Samsung smart tv, private deck and gated courtyard.

-Begonia En-Suite B-
Offering a queen bed with adjustable base, private bathroom, oversized walk-in closet, Sony 32" smart tv and private front deck entrance.

Each bedroom has fine hotel bedding, and each bathroom has luxury lotion, soaps, body wash, shampoo and conditioner. There is also a private stocked laundry room for your use.

The living room offers a custom state of the art home theatre system with 77" Sumsung television. Cozy up on the new Lovesac (tm) sectional sofa and entertain a movie night while using the Sonos/Savant audio control system. You can also relax to surround sound music while enjoying your favorite beverage at the living room bar and workspace.

Enjoy breakfast, lunch and dinner in the chef designed kitchen. Choose to enjoy a meal in the kitchen dinette, river view bar area or oversized kitchen island with microwave drawer.

If outside dining is more your style in the summer months, enjoy using the new *Treager BBQ to cook all three daily meals! Outside you can choose to dine on the private house deck with a high top table with 6 chairs, umbrella, cooler/bar, outdoor speakers and *propane heat lamps.

Or dine riverside at the -Skipper Space A- the front yard area with a redwood deck and picnic table & umbrella. Or choose to relax on the 5 Adirondack chairs while enjoying a late afternoon sunset or evening *firepit.
Make sure to ask for the lawn games to be set up during the summer months. We provide a Skee ball bean bag toss and ladder ball toss! Great for team building and family bonding!

Capitola Beach is only a 5 min walk from the property. For your convenience we offer beach chairs, umbrellas, towels and a rolling cooler for a relaxing day. Please make sure to leave your beach towels in the outdoor shower area bins.

*Use of BBQ, Propane Heat Lamps, Fire Pit require a signed waiver upon check-in. Guests under 18 y/o are not permitted to use the BBQ, Propane Heat Lamp or Fire Pits.
Use without a signed waiver may be cause for fine and eviction.

**Please no children under the age of 12 y/o allowed on the property (guests or visitors) at any time.

Surf City Rentals Policy
Guests must confirm they have read and agree to the following policies:

No Parties or Disruptive Behavior: Surf City Rentals prohibits parties, open-invite events, disruptive gatherings, and any behavior that disturbs the surrounding community, including excessive noise, visitors, trash, smoking nuisances, parking issues, trespassing, or vandalism.
Cancellation Policy: We strictly adhere to our cancellation policy, and no exceptions will be made.
Trip Insurance: We strongly advise all guests to purchase trip insurance to protect their booking in case of unforeseen circumstances.

Guest Access:
Guests will be given a private 4-digit door code 5 hours before arrival. Access is though the orange door located on the side path to the unit A from the garage towards the front of the property.

Carport marked A has one covered parking spot. Additional vehicles must pay for off-site street parking.

The Neighborhood:
Riverview Retreat is located 1/2 a block from downtown Capitola. A quick and easy stroll to the beach, shopping and restaurants.

Getting Around:
Riverview Retreat is located within walking distance of beaches, grocery stores, boutiques, restaurants and cultural arts. Uber and Lyft are always available for trips to the Capitola Mall and surrounding areas.

Other Things to Note:
This newly constructed duplex (2023) duplicates the original historic facade (unit A) and bedroom layout of the home built in 1921. The original home was only 778 sq ft! The original vacation house was constructed using 4 housing "shacks" from the San Francisco 1909 earthquake. The shacks were brought by barge to coastal front areas for vacation use.

Interaction with Guests:
All guests will have interaction with manager as needed.

Guests will have private door access codes and welcome basket.

Concierge level guests will have a greeted welcome, wine and cheese reception and luggage services.
