About this property

Rustic, Secluded Log Cabin, Perfect for Romantic Couples or Small Families!

Introducing Lil’ Green Bear Cabin, simply the “Gold Standard” in rustic, smaller, romantic Big Bear log-cabin “getaways”! The King of the Hill boasts over 250 verified VRBO reviews dating back over 12 years earning the elusive “Exceptional” rating (9.8 out of 10 stars)

BIG BEAR LAKE: VOTED BY USA TODAY AS:
BEST LAKE IN AMERICA! (6/10/2025)

NOV/DEC SPECIAL: JUST $100 PER WEEKNIGHT & $120 PER WEEKEND!

Fall has come to the Mountains bringing cooler temps, leaves falling & changing colors such a treat from the hot summer days!

Lil Green Bear Cabin is a 900sf, NO SMOKING, NO PET; 2-bed, 1-bath classic Sierra style log cabin with a 4 ADULT and/or 2 CHILD MAXIMUM occupancy along with a 23-yr old Minimum age for the primary booking person. Lil Green Bear is better served for Romantic Couples and/or small families.

Rustic & woodsy, boasting pine needles, pine cones & leaves strewn about, mother natures handywork. If you are looking for polished, suburban upscale comfort "all neat & tidy", Lil' Green Bear may not be the mountain experience your looking for.

Located just 2 blocks from the San Bernardino National Forest where a morning hike will change your life! Lil Green Bear is just a short drive out: 6 miles from “The Village”, 5 miles from “The Slopes” and 3 miles from “The Lake” and shopping.

Rustic architecture, exposed hand strewn ceiling timbers, tongue & groove knotty pine walls and wide plank hard wood floors. The first thing you will notice when entering this “fable-like” cottage, is the amazing attention to detail that has been spent on the décor throughout the cabin! The primary bedroom is large, sporting an Eastern King bed sitting on a massive log bed frame while the nice sized second bedroom boasts a Queen bed, again sitting on an impressive log bed frame, hand selected mountain bedding and accessories complete the bedrooms.

Wonderfully appointed Chefs kitchen and a handmade proper kitchen table. Comfortable living space with oversized seating and the most beautiful classic “Maltby” style fireplace and Douglas Fir hand carved mantle that every fall, winter or chilly spring night simply “steels the show”! Sitting by the fire, reading a book or having a glass of wine, will never be the same. The cabin has a 55” television in the living room and a 42” one in the primary bedroom, both are smart TV’s ready for all your streaming platforms (no cable). Internet-ready with strong Spectrum bandwidth but do be advised that Wi-Fi and the mountains often don’t get along and we cannot always guarantee full cooperation. The back deck is great for meals, drinks, grilling or just relaxing on solid patio furniture. The front porch is equally cozy enjoy bird watching or relaxing while sitting on two perfect Adirondack chairs.

The property is complete with external “motion sensor” lighting for late night arrivals, and one outward facing camera that the owners maintain monitoring the weather and driveway. The cabin setback really allows you to feel at home, a very special property. NO EV CAR CHARGING.

Out of the hundreds of VRBO reviews, our favorite one came from one of our early guests who wrote: "Lil Green Bear Cabin is not like staying at a rental property at all, but more like staying at friend’s house”

We love that, and we offer you our Lil' Piece of the Mountain:
Lil' Green Bear Cabin!

Blessings!

cutest log cabin in the neighborhood. We were warned by owner it was pretty warm there and suggested we bring fan. We suggest owner provide fan. It was warm there.Deck was full of debris. Owner said he swept two weeks before. Sorry needed to be swept close to move in date. He took care of matter asap. Dark brown linens on master bed looked too hot. Ended up staying in second bedroom. White linen. With improvements lovely cabin

Like staying at a friend's house

The cabin was so cozy, it really felt like staying with a friend or family member. The rules of the cabin are reasonable and didn't hinder our time there at all. We loved all the bear decor and all the furniture felt solid and comfortable. I'm used to staying places where everything feels like it's from IKEA so this was a nice change of pace. The fireplace was our favorite part!!!!!! It really made our stay special and added to the cozy comfy vibe. Highly, highly recommend!

Oktoberfest Retreat

The Lil Green Cabin exceeded our expectations. The cabin is in a nice quiet neighborhood nestled among beautiful pine trees. We really enjoyed our stay and found it to be warm, cozy and super clean. We had one minor issue which Randelle addressed and resolved promptly. We definitely would consider staying at the Lil Green Cabin in the future. Our thanks to Randelle and Gabriela

Peaceful cottage

so cute and well done with care and love. Neighborhood was so very quite. We had a very peaceful 4 day stay, just what we were looking for. I would have liked more light to read, but did it on front porch and back patio. We stay again on next Big Bear visit. Host is super nice.

Cozy, clean and comfortable

We had an absolutely great time at the cabin. We stayed for 5 nights and we enjoyed every minute we spent in the cabin. Everything was perfect and really comfortable. Two things we absolutely looked for was a cabin with a comfortable couch and a KING size bed for me and the misses. This cabin had both, we slept like we were at home. Our kids shared the queen bed and they were super happy. Thank you!!

Cozy Mountain Escape

Stayed here with my best friend for a summer weekend away and we enjoyed ourselves. The cabin is well appointed with everything you might need (not sure about a hair dryer - confirm with Host or bring your own). No pests, quiet neighborhood, quick access to Big Bear Lake and village. Not more than two vehicles fit in the driveway, and accommodations are best for up to four people (two beds). Just what we were looking for. Thank you!

This cozy rustic cabin bear's ascent was an amazing place to stay with my family. This small cabin in the mountain has everything we could need. We can connect to free WiFi, it surprised me with the free Netflix that we enjoy at night, bedsheets, blankets provided, shampoo, soap, cleaning products, towels, etc. The patio is a cute small place to enjoy breakfast and yoga early morning. We try to run away from the heat of this summer; unfortunately, we got some here because is no A/C. However, we had a blast time in this rustic bear cabin.

Perfect retreat getaway

My wife and I just spent 5 days / 4 nights at this wonderful location. We were very impressed with the rental and would highly recommend it to other guests. The rental was clean and furnished nicely - kitchen had everything we needed for our cooking needs (we tend to stay in and eat). The dishwasher was convenient and the large fridge was appreciated. We used the fireplace everyday and it worked well - the nights did drop to the high 20’s so we used the heater on and off. We prefer it cool so would turn it down to the low 60’s and still felt comfortable. Master bed was very warm and comfortable (I have back issues so am sensitive to mattresses - woke up without back pain) No issues with internet although tv connection didn’t work our first night. Plugged in the laptops for streaming and all was well Neighborhood was very quiet and close to a preserve for hiking Bathroom worked great - just be aware it is a smaller shower. No complaints from us though. We had all the supplies we needed - did bring tin foil as the only additional supply we needed We had a perfect, relaxing getaway and would stay again

'The Green's' of Lil' Green Bear Cabin! Randelle, Gabriela and Dakota. Gabby and I met in Los Angeles in November of 2005 and were married on Maui (Hana) on October 10th, 2010 (10/10/10). We have a 15 year old son named Dakota who absolutely loves the cabin. Gabriela is a flight attendant for Delta Airlines. I am a Real Estate Broker running 2 Brokerages, one in the LA area as well as Big Bear.. We love spending time together, traveling, Hawaii, Solvang (wine country) and escaping to the mountains every chance we get. We love our lil piece of the mountain and know you will too! May God Bless You! Randelle & Gabriela Green

Why they chose this property

It has been a dream of my wife and I to own a log cabin up in the mountains of Southern California, so in 2010 we purchased Lil Green Bear cabin. We enjoyed it ourselves for the first couple years and in 2012 we decided to put the cabin into the vacation rental market. We have made sure the cabin has all the conveniences of home. It has been our goal almost 8 years to continue to build a reputable business out of sharing our lil piece of the mountain with others. We are well aware that rental homes are built on referrals and we hope each and every guest is more than satisfied and will keep coming back for more. Enjoy your stay at Lil Green Bear Cabin!!

What makes this property unique

What really sets Lil Green Bear Cabin apart is the front and back yard space! The property sits back to allow an actual front yard for the kids to play, which is also fenced (log) to create boundaries. Great for kids to run around the front yard where one can watch them from the redwood adarondak chairs on the porch. The same goes for the backyard, a totally enclosed back yard 'play park'. People forget to think about the grounds of the property, who wants to stay inside all day, you come up the mountain for the fresh air and to feel the altitude. Parking is excellent at the cabin, something not always the case. A traditional black asphalt drive way allows you to park conveniently as opposed to some gravel pull up area! Motion sensor lights in the front and back make it safe, and simple for late night check ins. Try finding your way to a new address and foreign place in the pitch black! Dining room, again so many 2 bedroom cabins don't have one, just some bar stools or even worse TV trays for your dinner. LGB has a traditional custom made dining table which comfortably sits 4, it is made from reclaimed pine. The bedrooms are surprisingly large with actual sitting areas, classic mountain log bed frames. The inside was completely remodeled in 2010 with a wide open floorplan, chefs kitchen, and 12 inch (width) exposed logs running through the living room ceiling. A wonderful maltby fireplace. The unique benefits to this 1,000sf 2 bedroom cabin are endless. We simply encourage you to compare the photo's, inside and out, read ALL reviews, VRBO is a legitimate service. And the pictures tell it all.
