The Space:

Morning light spills across tall chalet‑style windows, revealing layered mountain ridgelines that stretch for miles. A gentle breeze carries the scent of pine as you step onto the wraparound deck, steam rising from the hot tub against a backdrop of sweeping valley views. In the evenings, the fire pit glows softly, inviting you to unwind under a canopy of stars. This lofted chalet cabin perched on Highland Springs Mountain offers a peaceful retreat where nature sets the pace.

Sleeping arrangements

The loft‑style bedroom features a queen bed positioned to catch the early sunrise. A sleeper sofa in the living area provides additional sleeping space, comfortably accommodating up to four guests.

Kitchen & dining

The fully stocked kitchen includes all the basics you need to prepare meals at your own pace. A dining nook opens onto the deck, making it easy to enjoy a hearty breakfast or a simple dinner while taking in the mountain scenery.

Outdoor living

Step onto the expansive deck to soak in the hot tub, a perfect contrast to cooler mountain air. A fire pit anchors the outdoor space for evenings of storytelling and stargazing. The deck also offers room for a grill, letting you savor the quiet atmosphere with a meal cooked al fresco.

Family & pet‑friendly touches

Children’s books, toys, board games, and dinnerware are provided for family stays. The cabin welcomes dogs, making it easy to bring a four‑legged companion, while cats are not permitted due to allergies.

Getting around & the area

AWD or 4×4 is recommended, especially in winter, though most front‑wheel‑drive vehicles can navigate the paved main roads and gravel side lanes with care. Nearby attractions include ATV off‑roading trails, the Potomac River for boating or kayaking, and extensive public lands for hiking and wildlife viewing.

Perfect for

Couples, small families, or friends seeking a mountaintop escape where comfort meets simplicity, and far‑reaching views encourage a slower, more grounded pace.

My wife and I stayed here looking for expansive views and quiet to enjoy the Fall foliage in late October. This property over-delivered. It was a wonderful stay with amazing views and extremely quiet and remote. We would definitely stay here again. Communication was superb - fast responses and super informative.

I live in DC with my wife and three young kids. I love camping/hiking, drinking (and sometimes brewing) great beer and wine, exploring new restaurants and shops, and traveling all over.

What makes this property unique

We spent years searching for the perfect getaway, and wanted to be close enough to DC that we could do a day trip. We fell in love with the area – and this cabin in particular. We love how cute and cozy our chalet is, and all the fun outdoor activities we can enjoy year-round. :)
