The perfect cozy place to explore Lake Michigan and Saugatuck. The hostess is so dear and really cares about making your stay the best experience. Her beautiful garden is truly a place for peace and respite. I was sad to leave but will definitely be back for a longer stay.
Our stay in Wilma’s cottage was very pleasant. The cottage is very cozy, clean and quiet. The gardens are lovely and Wilma was a very welcoming host. We will definitely be back to visit Saugatuck :)
Wonderful, kind host. Great location for proximity to downtown Saugatuck. The backyard is so tranquil and pretty. We really enjoyed our time there and would stay again!
While the cottage is small, it was perfect for a quick couple of nights away from home. Clean and comfortable, it had everything we needed. Waking distance from downtown Saugatuck made it easy to go to town.
This was so cute and quaint. It is such a cool piece of history and the backyard is beautiful. It was quiet and exactly what I hoped it would be. Wilma is a perfect host. We walked to downtown Saugatuk. There are tons of places to eat and shop. Oval beach is a few minutes away and the dune rides were great. A perfect getaway fall weekend

The host was great and has wonderful local information available. The backyard is gorgeous and the location is perfect:
We loved this little cabin in a quiet area in a cul de sac at the end of a short street. The cottage was quaint and perfect for the two of us. It was a nice short walk to the downtown area along a wooded residential sidewalk. We loved feeling secluded from the busier downtown area yet still close. The cottage was homey, clean, and everything we needed for the two of us. Would definitely recommend it and would stay again on our next visit!
Lovely cottage within walking distance of downtown

About the host
Hosted by Wilma Kosal
Recently retired from sales, but moving full-time into her pottery career, Wilma loves Saugatuck and feels fortunate to be able to share her home with you. Folding out of her lovely backyard, the cottage is nestled in its own oasis and if you want privacy, it’s yours. If you want philosophies on life, stories from her European upbringing, and insight on the true gems of Saugatuck, Wilma is all smiles.
About 24 years ago, Wilma happened to be at the right place at the right time and the stars aligned for her to purchase the Bridge Street home and cottage. Upon her retirement, she has been able to devote more time to gardening and other creative endeavors – many of which you will enjoy during your stay. The garden is inviting and Wilma’s pottery is infused in the space (and as an extra bonus, you can purchase some of her work if you are interested).
Why they chose this property
“I felt at home. The general atmosphere of the town, the beach, and the arts spoke to me. How wonderful to be able to enjoy a fantastic meal at a restaurant, enjoy a play, and then walk the shores at sunset. Saugatuck is beautiful, unique, friendly, and there are different programs and events offered throughout the year that whenever you visit, something special awaits you.”
What makes this property unique
Past guests have described the cottage as romantic, enchanting, and cozy. You come to a potentially busy town and you can escape in your own cottage. There are only 3 houses on the street. You are alone if you want to be. Downtown is only a 5 minute walk from the cottage. The garden is lovely and past guests comment that it feels like you are transported back in time.
Personally, I love riding my bike into town, hanging out at the coffee shop while reading the paper and people-watching. Then I enjoy gardening back at my house, talking with friends, and taking walks at sunset on the beach. It is my ideal retirement town.
