Secluded 2 bedroom home nestled on 11 acres on top of the beautiful Baraboo bluffs. Large private yard, oodles of things to do and see all within a 15 mile radius...Devil's Lake State Park has swimming, fishing, hiking trails, rock climbing, picnic and playgrounds as well as cross country skiing and is only 5 miles away. Devil's Head Ski & Golf Resort is about 5 miles as well. Circus World Museum and historic downtown Baraboo only 5 miles as well. On a snowmobile route to trails. The infamous Wisconsin Dells 'waterpark central' only 12 miles away, as well as Ho-Chunk Casino. Even more within 40 miles....beautiful House on the Rock attraction.
Large living room with tv, dvd, vcr & stereo with cd player. 2 bedrooms (one queen, one double twin). Sofa sleeper & Extra queen mattress available for living room. Large yard with patio, plenty of room to roam & a nice big fire pit. Garage bar with table for cards, games or extra dining space. Fully equipped kitchen with island and full dining room. Lots of board games & puzzles & even high speed Wi-Fi if you need it. Pack your clothes, grab the kids & hit the grocery store on the way. Gas grill provided as well. All linens provided and laundry on site. Pets considered on a case by case basis with additional pet fee & pet agreement. Property manager only a half mile away. Compare our rates to other Baraboo listings...half the price!

Ski Trip Year 2!

We had just a wonderful time at Granny‘s cottage! We stayed here about two years ago for our first friends ski trip and loved it so much that we booked it again this year. The location is great for skiing at Cascade Mountain. The home is tucked away, nice and private for a fun getaway.

My family was camping at Devil’s Lake and this home was perfect. Close enough to participate, yet not stay in a tent. The property was quiet, clean, and had the a well-equipped kitchen. We were very happy with our stay

Annual fall trip

This really felt like home once we got settled in. The space is decorated nicely with plenty of space to set out our personal items. Everything was very clean and smelled fresh. The location was perfect - close to town but secluded for privacy and relaxation.

Great choice for weekend hiking trip at Devil’s Lake State Park. The place is convenient, well set up for cooking and grilling, clean and well stocked. It feels very rural but you’re only a quick drive to the state park, grocery, restaurants and anything else you need. Gretchen is a terrific host- very quick to respond to any question. She even ran out and quickly bought a new grill within the hour when the one on site didn’t work.

Close to Baraboo & Devil's Lake

The cottage was in the middle of nowhere, but 10 minutes to both Baraboo and Devil's Lake. The kitchen was fully stocked, more than any place we've ever stayed before. Any question we had was responded to within a reasonable amount of time, often minutes.

Peaceful countryside home.

Great for stargazing. Adequate parking space. Had everything we needed for cooking meals. Plenty of towels. Loved having a recliner in the living room. The large living room was great for entertaining visitors. Granddaughter thoroughly enjoyed the swing set. I would suggest that the twin beds need more comfortable mattresses. We enjoyed our stay.

Summer stay

Perfect location for Devil’s Lake vacation, literally short 6 minutes drive just remember to get to the beach earlier on busy weekends. Plenty of space for 5 year old to roam and for little dog to get his exercise in. Kitchen and rooms have all you will need and more (we did brought our own air fryer as my 5 year old likes what she likes :)). Quick drive to Wisconsin Dells so it’s easy to go explore there too. We visited during extreme heat and we are glad to to say between the trees and ac the house was always comfortable

Great for our ski trip!

My friends and I stayed at Granny’s cabin as a place to crash during our ski trip. The cabin ended up being the perfect spot for us with plenty of space to rest after our skiing adventures. The cabin is stocked with tons of fun games and movies that kept us entertained in our down time. The only issue we ran into was one of our group member’s car struggled to get up the unplowed driveway. I definitely recommend a 4-wheel drive car if you stay here after a heavy snowfall. We are definitely interested in staying here again for future ski trips!

in regards to unplowed driveway- under normal circumstances it is kept plowed, however a wet & heavy snowfall was followed by 2 days of very warm temperatures (high 40s-50), and plowing the gravel driveway would have created a terrible mess.

Nice quiet getaway

The house is tucked away on a hill with woods in the back, so it is a nice quiet secluded place for a weekend getaway. It really does look like grandmas house inside, if you like that kind of decor you will feel right at home. There's plenty of room and furnishings, along with a fully stocked kitchen. Unfortunately we went on a very cold week, but there is plenty of yard for dogs to roam around. The one negative is that with an older house you get that somewhat musty smell, but we just went to the store and bought some additional air fresheners so that took care of it. Great location, just minutes from downtown Baraboo and Devil's Lake. Thank you Gretchen, we had a wonderful time.
