Beautiful property, nice view although at this time of year the water is barely visible but still wonderful view. The walk to the beach was short and good exercise. Perfect for a couples getaway with kitchen, bedroom and living area easy to maintain. No washer and dryer but altogether a great relaxing week for us and will most definitely be contacting again.
We’re planning on another return visit next July for another 2 weeks! We love driving 5 minutes to get lobster and bring them back to the cottage to cook them in a steamer that the host lets us use ever year! It’s a little piece of heaven for us!
This was our second stay here at Henry's Hideaway. We liked it just as much as we did in 2022. We also have family closeby in Brunswick & South Harpswell so it was a "home base" for the week, while we ventured out each day.We plan to return again someday, if they'll have us. ;)
Not really ocean view! Very nice, would stay there again! Convenient to where we wanted to go! It is a Murphy bed, no problem for us!Cute small cottage
Just what I need for week near the ocean. This cottage is clean and has the basics for your getaway. Location is excellent for access to trails, beaches and other great places to visit in Maine.
This was my third time at Henry's Hideaway and it was a success in all ways. The cottage was clean and spacious enough for two people. It was so quiet you could hear the boats on the water near-by. We hope to use this property again in the future.
This was our third year and we are returning for a fourth year! We look forward to a wonderful deck to relax on and a very comfortable little house! Everything is wonderful!’n
I love this little place with all of my heart ❤️ the walk to the beach is short yet rewarding with every step. A great place to rest and recharge. I enjoyed stargazing and the evening ocean breeze. I hope to return in the future.
Cute, small, and clean cottage. We enjoyed the large deck for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The owners are friendly, and were helpful and quick in responding to our questions. A short walk downhill to the water. No water view.
Henry's cottage was a perfect place for us! Everything, from booking to checking in was seamless. Early morning coffee on the deck was blissful - bird songs and lobster boats started the day. Driving down the hill with the view of the bay always took my breath away. Quintessential Maine, complete with lobster boats, sailboats and sparkling water, can't be captured in words or photos! Jack and Mary are super and attentive hosts.
Upon arrival to the Hideaway, we found a very cozy, clean, & organized rental. Very peaceful & quiet setting. The deck gets full sun 3/4"s of the day, good for just relaxing, playing cards, or just watching the many birds that came to the feeder we brought with us. Jack answered all our questions. We will be coming back in the future.
Very nice cottage with a great location. Close to the water, and an easy drive to mid-coast Maine points of interest such as Bailey Island, Boothbay Harbor, Pemaquid Point Lighthouse, Freeport, and more. And the local neighborhood of Harpswell, Maine has some great scenic ocean views without driving anywhere else.
Henry's Hideaway was perfect for a weekend of exploring Harpswell's preserves with my husband and a working vacation alone for the rest of the week. After long days working in Brunswick, it was great to have a quiet location to sit on the deck and enjoy the breeze. It had everything I needed. There is an easement down to the water, too. Bring a folding chair with you if you want to sit on the beach.
The property was very clean and comfortable. I really enjoyed the location and access to all that Harpswell had to offer. The deck was private and a nice place to sit after a day of playing in the ocean or hiking nearby trails.
My husband & I arrived on a Saturday, and checked out the following Saturday. We both thoroughly enjoyed our rental through Mary & Jack.
With updated interior, semi-secluded from busy road traffic, location close to family in next town & reasonable cost, this made for a pleasant experience for our week in Maine.
We would definitely search for renting this specific listing, when planning a return trip to Maine.
Nice, cozy cottage with cove views gave us a good sense of privacy - leisurely breakfasts under the umbrella on the deck were especially nice - nicely located within easy drives of a number of good hiking preserves.
Henry’s Hideaway is the perfect location for a relaxing vacation. This cottage was clean, well maintained and the kitchen had all the basics.
There are many preserves and trails to explore in the area. We started each day with coffee on the deck talking and listening to the birds. Thanks you for a wonderful vacation!
Bright and airy would describe Henry's HideAway. The Murphy Bed was very comfy and the kitchen offered basic supplies. Linens were high quality, everything was in good shape. All in all a lovely spot to explore the Harpswell peninsula and Brunswick area.
great for couple or single traveler on one of many beautiful harpswell peninsulas
squeaky clean and nicely appointed … for me great location … good for birding, walking/hiking many preserves, lovely mid-coast Maine quiet and easy walk to “old school” New England ice cream stand and classic white village houses/churches … would also be good for kayakers … yet only short drive to Brunswick and its attractions.

Maine visit
Nice scenic area, not too close to a lot of activities. Had to drive many miles to see various parks, etc.
