Lavender & Lemon is a warm and comfortable home. You will be able to have peace and quiet on the porch where you can enjoy your coffee, breakfast, lunch or Dinner. If you’re peaceful you may see the local wildlife in the early morning or late evening. You are within walking distance to the ocean. You can also take a short drive to Erica’s Seafood for a local and extremely fresh lunch or dinner and then visit Pammy’s Ice Cream Parlor for a sweet treat. Harpswell is a remote fishing community so please bring your bike, kyak or canoe and enjoy the sites! There are no high intensity or destructive parties permitted on this property. This violation with be met with police presence and fines. Thank you for your cooperation. The safety of the home, guest and community are imperative.

The location was beautiful. The house is nestled among the trees with a beautiful lawn both front and back. The decor of the home is so interesting with many antiques. There was a great deal of information provided about things to do in the area. It was a completely relaxing vacation and we were able to enjoy both Orrs Island and Bailey Island with limited driving

The house has 3 large bedrooms and a large backyard. It is private without being secluded. We were glad that we could bring our dogs! The house had everything we needed and a lot of extras. Full kitchen with everything needed to cook, etc. very clean as well. We visited several beaches in Harpswell. They are mostly rocky, with some sandy areas so my granddaughter could dig. Also some nice hikes close by. The area is beautiful.

This house rental is in a wonderful spot in Harpswell. Close to many activities in the area. Unfortunately for us, we went when it was super hot weather which made our stay inside the house unbearable. There was not any air conditioning in the house only window fans that didn't provide any relief. The house temps were 85 degrees inside. We were miserable as were our dogs. There is also a fee for pets that is not listed in the booking description but it does say there are not any hidden fees in the listing, However we were told about the fees on our 2nd day from the host after she saw our dogs on the cameras. Because the house was too hot to stay in we checked out a night early. If the house had AC it would have been a perfect place for us to stay.

Good afternoon, I am sorry you had to leave early from your stay. It was an unseasonably hot week. Unfortunately many guests at other rentals had to leave early as well as many rentals in Harpswell do not have air conditioning. It was a real bummer. As for fees, there are no undisclosed fees if the guest discloses that they have a pet visiting as well. The fee would be added when disclosed upon booking. The home is very pet friendly and I do rely on honest disclosure of pets as it requires extra cleaning services. Safe travels on all your upcoming adventures. Marianna

We had a short but great stay at this home. My wife made the comment that the space felt like a ‘home’ and not just a rental space. I agree. The house was very clean and comfortable and the best appointed rental that we’ve ever stayed in starting with the kitchen (EVERYTHING you need for cooking) and extending into the other rooms. Lots of different great spaces either to gather with a group (indoor or out) or find solitude. The location is also fantastic close to Preserves and the water for walks and sightseeing but off the main road in a sizable piece of property with no immediate neighbors. The only downsides during our stay were that 1) there were high temperatures throughout Maine and this house does not have air conditioning in any rooms. The window fans provided in each bedroom helped a lot once it cooled down in the evening but during the day most of the house was warm/hot. Also 2) the upstairs bedrooms each have a nice skylight over the bed but no shades on them so the sun will wake you up EARLY in the summer months.Overall a great stay and we would love to visit again and definitely plan for a longer stay to enjoy everything this property has to offer.

A very pleasant and quiet visit. If you are looking for a peaceful stay a short drive from the ocean, I highly recommend this listing. Recommend the School House restaurant for an upscale dining experience! Communication was fantastic, house was very clean, listing spot on.

I am a Harpswell Native and I grew up lobstering with my mother on her boat as a child. I also spent much time with my father doing some construction work and he is now the town road commissioner and beloved by the locals. Harpswell will always be home though I currently live in VT. I’ll be back to stay someday.

Why they chose this property

I recently inherited this home after losing one of the most important people in my life. A lot of LOVE, Passion, heartbreak and Soul searching went into this home that she loved so much. Lavender being her favorite smell and Lemon her favorite flavor. It’s all in loving memory of one the strongest women I’ve ever known and loved.

What makes this property unique

This property is quiet and serene. It shares space with peaceful animals, birds and you may meet Rascal who is very friendly and the local black lab that makes his rounds daily.
This property is within walking distance from the ocean or a short drive. There are also many hiking trails, seasonal restaurants and Pammy’s Ice Cream Parlor is a MUST visit!
When booking with Lavender & Lemon you can have the option to order local Lobsters from a local Lobsterman steamed, delivered to the door and ready to eat. Please inquire if interested in this service.
Harpswell is also a stunning backdrop for a wedding! The local wedding hub is right around the corner from this home. Live Well Farm is gorgeous! If you’re getting married, you can’t go wrong.
