About this property

Adventure House: Fully Stocked Kitchen 5 mins from Michigan Tech

Located across the bridge from Michigan Tech and only a few miles from beaches and trails, you'll have access to all of your interests here. It's a great home base for exploring the UP or treating your student to a home cooked meal.

The main floor has a comfortable living room, eating area, and a fully functioning kitchen with additional seating. A side entrance conveniently opens to the laundry room and bathroom with shower.

Upstairs has three bedrooms. Two have Queen size beds and one has trundle beds that could be pushed together for a short King. Each bed has a memory foam topper, plush pillows and either a Smart TV or a TV with an Amazon Fire Stick attached. Window air conditioning units are installed during the summer months.

**Please note** We are located along Lincoln Dr (US-41) and the snowmobile trail. I would hate to lose your business because of it, but I would rather make sure you are happy with your stay. If you are a very light sleeper, other accommodations might be better suited for your needs. The front bedroom has a sound machine and during the summer, a window air conditioning unit that can help with some white noise.

Nicely updated kitchen. Comfortable for the whole family with room to eat, watch TV, sit and talk after a long day or cook a full meal with all new appliances and standard kitchen necessities. Way better then the local hotel chains. We will definitely be staying here again next year.

Older home that has certainly been updated but still has some minimal old home quirks and esthetics. Everything in the home was appropriately functional. Kitchen and bathrooms were the most updated. We did a lot of cooking and the kitchen was well outfitted and had newer appliances. No stove vent hood so we ended up putting the box fan on kitchen window sill to remove hot air from kitchen. Cute little back yard but that deck is getting old. No central AC but window units in each of the three upstairs bedrooms kept us cool at night which is our preference. Main floor was a bit warm but it was higher temperature weather than typical for the area. Beds were way too soft for our preference but provided betting was good. It is on a busy road, M41 the main highway through the keweenaw, but we didn’t find that bothersome. Actually made trips around both Hancock and Houghton city limits very convenient (once you get used to the one ways, switch backs, hills, and crossovers :). Good WiFi. Good living room space to hangout comfortably and dining room table adequate for our family of 5. We spent a week here and would likely stay again if the need arises.(but hopefully with firmer mattresses by then :)

A very comfy home with a few spider friends. They didn’t affect our fun as they were fairly quiet weaving their webs. We had a wonderful time there. Would recommend the Adventure House!

Convenient and charming

This place is perfect! 5mins from MTU (Houghton), walking distance to downtown Hancock. The house is charming! Kitchen is well stocked. Hosts are very kind and informative. I can’t recommend this enough especially if you are an MTU family looking for a place to stay for orientation/visits etc.

Justin and Grace live downstate in Grand Rapids, MI but maintain a passion for the UP. Justin grew up in Houghton and his family still resides there. They help us maintain the home and can stop by for urgent needs.

What makes this property unique

We bought the house so we would have a place to stay to visit family and also share with our siblings and extended family when they're in town. We love it as a starting point for our adventures like hiking trails that lead to beautiful views, exploring ruins, swimming in waterfalls, and camping along Lake Superior.
We come up about once each season and have exciting plans for the house. We hope you enjoy your stay and are comfortable.
