About this property

One Bedroom Bungalow

From the log structure to the propane lamps and wood stove you'll feel like you stepped back in time while you are here. You'll have access to world class fly fishing as well as miles of quality gravel biking, hiking, paddling and skiing in the winter.

As part of Little Lyford Camp operated by the Appalachian Mountain Club, your stay includes dinner, breakfast and lunch at the main Lodge. Mountain View Cabin is a short walk from the shared bathrooms that serve Little Lyford Pond Camp. The bathroom is complete with composting toilets, hot showers and a coed wood fired sauna.

The beds comes with a pillow and blankets but linens and towels are not provided.

Temperatures can drop at night in the Spring, Fall and Winter though there is a wood stove for heat.

The cabin is not accessible by car in the winter. Those staying overnight will need to ski or snowshoe several miles to reach their destination. Gear will be shuttled via snowmobile and rides via snowmobile are available for an added fee.

The cabin does not have electricity or internet. Electronics can be charged in the main lodge a short walk away. The cabin does have propane lights for use in the evening. A headlamp or flashlight is highly recommended.

Family style meals are served in the main lodge. Lunch is offered as a bag lunch to take along on your adventures for the day.

Use of canoes and kayaks are included in the overnight fee for paddling on the Lyford Ponds.

Staff are available at the main lodge to provide information on trails, fishing and paddling.

The Appalachian Mountain Club is the nation's oldest conservation and recreation organization, committed to fostering the protection, enjoyment, and understanding of the outdoors. The AMC operates cabins and lodges throughout the Northeast in locations that offer tremendous outdoor recreation opportunities. All revenues generated by these locations go back to our efforts to protect and support the enjoyment of the outdoors.

Why they chose this property

The Appalachian Mountain Club has purchased over 100,000 acres in the 100 Mile Wilderness of Maine to protect that land from development while still allowing access for traditional uses such as hiking, fishing, hunting, snow machining and logging.
