This beach getaway has rustic 1930s charm with all the amenities, on a quiet dead-end street (perfect for kids) that ends at the gorgeous wide white-sand beach. With loads of off-street parking, pull your car in once and forget it: the Acme grocery is 4 blocks walk and has everything you need or forgot (& is across the street from an ice cream shop for nightly dessert outings).
With rich wood paneling, a large dining room, and lots of comfy living room seating, it is the perfect place for enjoying relaxed meals and game nights, or post-prandial couch time when you're not enjoying the beach.
While you may be so relaxed you'll never leave the house or beach, if you do want to, there is plenty of fun out of the house, with mini-golf, water park, shopping, and even an active theater featuring live performances. The four quaint walkable beach towns on the island have oyster bars, delicious restaurants, shopping galore, and many ice cream shops.
If you have technology needs, we've got something for everyone. There is a working vintage rotary phone... plus fast wifi, Infinity basic cable, and a new TV with access to log into your streaming media services or plug in your laptop (even a vintage DVD player). BYO bluetooth speaker or use our classic stereophonic boombox featuring AM/FM/CD/cassette player.
Set the heat pump for your heating and cooling comfort, or better yet shut it off and open the windows for fresh ocean breezes, the sound of the surf, and the occasional cry of the seagulls.

It was a great stay. We had a wonderful time and loved the old school feel of the property. The owner was amazing at communicating and very nice and accommodating. We loved the property. The only complaint was food left in the refrigerator upon our arrival and a lot of food in the cabinets so we had little or no place to store our items but that was not a big deal. The food in the door of the fridge was kind of strange as usually the refrigerator is empty when we stay at VRBO's but not a real problem. Also, the propane tank was empty for the gas grill, but we just used the charcoal grill instead. Overall, a truly wonderful property. We will definitely stay there again. We had a lovely time with our family.

Delightful home! To say it is stocked (games, toiletries and kitchen amenities) is an understatement. Too much to list. We made wonderful memories and booked for next year! Owners are top notch. Close to beach and everything else we needed. Life is good at the beach but even better when you find a place that feels like home. Thank you!

This rental was great! It was so clean when we arrived! A true old school beach house steps from the beach! The owners provided pretty much everything which was so convienent! Bedrooms are small but kitchen dining area and living room have so much room for everyone!

This is a cozy, traditional LBI beach house with lovely original wood interior. The location is ideal, quiet, no streets to cross, third house from the ocean shore and very close to the supermarket. Comfy bed, plentiful sheets and towels, well-stocked kitchen with cooking supplies, including spices and some condiments. Good A/C, though we only needed it once, indoor washer and dryer, plus an ample backyard with outdoor shower, clothesline, beach chairs and umbrellas. We especially appreciated that the linens and beach gear were provided as we live far away. The owner was also great about communicating clearly and promptly.

Amazingly located LBI bungalow

The house is phenomenally located steps from the beautiful beach. The views from the side living room window and the upstairs porch are out of this world! The house is centrally located to all of the good stuff LBI has to offer. The ACME is amazing to have at the corner! Skipper Dipper is an easy walk, with great ice cream’The house is very clean, and stocked with literally everything you could need, want or require during your stay. Come in with your clothes any perishables, settle in and enjoy! Don’t worry if you forgot it —they have it! There is also PLENTY of off-street parking. The bungalow is very homey and comfortable. The water pressure in both the indoor and outdoor showers is 10/10. Wish I could have taken that home, lol. Bob, the owner, is quick to respond, thoughtful, kind, and very hospitable. You could not ask for a better host! You can tel how much he truly cares!

Perfect beach house

This house is a gem! It's a 1930s two-story beach house, 4 houses in from the beach, and it was perfect for our family vacation to LBI. The house is certainly older and lacks some of the updates you'll find in newer vacation rentals. But it has everything that matters. The bathroom is clean and accessible, and there is also an outdoor shower (with a door) for rinsing off after the beach. The kitchen is fully stocked -- good oven/range, dishwasher, coffee maker, toaster, microwave, and lots of dishware, flatware, and cups and mugs. There were five of us staying here -- four adults and one toddler (2 years old). The house is small to fit all of us, but it worked fine. Of course, the greatest thing about this house is the location; the beach is just a few steps away, and it's convenient enough that we could go to the beach and make multiple trips back and forth throughout the day. There is also a small avenue on the other side of the house that's perfect for walking, jogging, or biking, and there are plenty of restaurants and ice cream shops a walk or short drive away. There's also plenty of parking on the property (probably 4 cars could easily fit, maybe more with some maneuvering). There is also a separate upstairs apartment that was vacant during our stay. The owner was very communicative and answered all of my questions quickly. It's a family-owned vacation house and they hadn't hosted guests in a few years, so we were glad to be the test subjects.

My father was an airline pilot, so I’ve been fortunate to travel and have always enjoyed the hospitality industry. I love to meet other travelers and people relaxing away from work.

Why they chose this property

This house has been in the family for five generations. With your help, we’d love to sustain its rustic charm for another five.

What makes this property unique

This is one of the few original 1930s Cape Cod style houses on its block. While most have been torn down and expanded to cover their lots, this is a modest house on an oversized lot with plenty of open space - for parking, grilling, eating around the picnic table, or playing frisbee or catch with kids. Surrounded by pines, it has a more secluded feel despite being only 100 yards from the beach, with no streets to cross. We would never tell you to let your kids bike or play in the street, but since it’s a quiet dead end that’s what we always did growing up.
It’s got a garage full of beach, bike, and play gear, plus an outdoor shower to rinse off the beach before tracking sand into the house
