ABOUT CASA LOS MONOS

Casa Los Monos is a recently renovated, two bedroom, private home with a swimming pool, beautiful landscaping, a fenced in yard and security. This home is perfect for families who are interested in enjoying the active lifestyle of Playa Guiones while also having a private and secure home for a holiday escape.

ON THE INSIDE

The home consists of two bedrooms, each with a separate bathroom. The master bedroom has a queen sized bed for two while the guest room has a queen sized bed as well as a bunk bed. For additional bedding, there is a balinese twin sized couch that can double as a twin bed in the living area. The kitchen is fully equipped with stainless steel appliances, utensils, cookware, and anything else you might need to prepare your home cooked meals! The living room has a television with an Apple TV for you and your family to sit back and enjoy all of your Netflix shows - once the sun has gone down of course! Note, there is not a washer and dryer available for guest use, however there is a drop off/pick up laundry service in North Guiones.

ON THE OUTSIDE

Sit by the pool and enjoy the wildlife of Costa Rica with Iguanas, Monkeys and Parrots, right in your backyard. Enjoy family meals on the dining table of the outdoor terrace. Having a vehicle is necessary when renting this home, but not to worry, there is plenty of parking space within the secured fence.

As part of your rental, a member of our team will communicate with you prior to your arrival to help with your travel arrangements from the airport, including a discount code if you'd like to rent a car through National Car Rental. We are also happy to help you book your activities, including surf lessons, board rentals, private yoga lessons, horseback adventures, zipline tours and much more. Our team members are bi-lingual, so communication will be a breeze. A member of our team will be available to answer any questions you may have during your stay. Please do not hesitate to contact us if you have any additional questions about the property or the area.

LOCATION IS EVERYTHING

Casa Los Monos is located high on the hill in the EE Section. This house is the perfect private hideaway! Although you may get lost in the seclusion of this hilltop home, you are only a 5-minute drive down the hill to the hopping town of Guiones and the beach!

The Las Huacas residential community has a strict noise ordinance from 10pm to 7am. Any disturbance caused by the Rental Party will not be tolerated as this is a residential community. Rental Party agrees not to use the premises for any and all improper purposes nor permit any disturbances or hosting of events (including, but not limited to weddings, parties, raves, etc.).

LOCAL QUIRKS - IMPORTANT INFORMATION ABOUT THIS AREA OF COSTA RICA

While the infrastructure in Costa Rica is improving, it is highly likely that you will experience dust, bugs, mold, power, water and internet outages at some point during your stay. We consider it part of the fun of experiencing another country and culture. All of these issues are beyond the control of the homeowner and the management company and may come without advance notice. If having internet access is imperative during your visit, we recommend you research internet data plans available to you through your cellular provider. The Playa Guiones, Playa Pelada and surrounding areas of Nosara are rapidly growing communities. As such, much of the area will have noise from construction typically between the hours of 6am and 5pm. We do our best to update our properties impacted by construction, however, we are not always provided advance notice of a project. The septic system in the Nosara area does not permit flushing of toilet paper with few exceptions. If you have any questions at all, please contact us in advance of booking your stay as refunds and concessions will not be given for any of the reasons above as they are beyond the control of the homeowner and property manager. The house is just as advertised. Perfect size for our family of five. The pool was very good, and the house is well appointed. The location is up the hill across the main road, so a car is a must.

Private Getaway!

House had everything we needed, even washer and dryer! The pool was so nice for a morning dip! Close to the three little towns at bottom of the hill (the hill is about a five minute drive up a windy dirt road, must rent a car if you stay here). The management team for this house is amazing, they are available to help with anything you need. Highly recommend staying here!

Perfect paradise!

We were greeted by the nicest ladies and brought to the house. They went over everything regarding locking up, and alarming the home, very efficient, and helpful. We've enjoyed the house immensely! It's in the perfect location on the hill, as the nice breezes are quite refreshing! It's a quiet and beautiful home, very authentic jungle experience for sure. The house itself is an amazing place, pool was perfect size and temp, patio was comfortable and accomidating for dinner or just hanging out on, loved the architecture of the entire property. The inside felt like home, comfortable, clean, simple, but has all of the modern necessities. Internet worked great, AC was wonderful, water pressure etc, and all the cooking and cleaning products you'd need for daily living. The beds were very comfortable, and fit our family perfect. A great home for families coming to enjoy Costa Rica at its finest. Also, was very safe for my 4 year old. The drive to town is maybe 5 minutes. There you will find great beaches, restaurants, and stores. It's an a amazing town. I enjoyed being able to drive back up the hill as the day came to end, to our quiet sanctuary in the jungle. Highly recommend!!!

Ok...but...cleanliness issue.

If you like a quiet location this is a secure property located a drive away from the beaches. The owner and property manager were very quick to respond to any situation that occured. We rented this property because of all the great reviews but were disappointed with the cleanliness. The bathrooms especially had been neglected and the general housekeeping of the inside of the home needed attention. From my perspective I believe that the property was over priced for the condition it was in.

Nice quiet area but yet close enough to get to the beach and Nosara town fast.

Pool was perfect for cooling down. Accomodations were as advertised. Nice dining table on the patio, beds were comfortable. Howler monkeys came right up to the property. We walked the long, winding road every morning for just enough exercise.

This was a wonderful home to rent while we visited Nosara! Just a drive away from local restaurants, and the beautiful beach! Our family enjoyed sitting by the pool relaxing and listening to all the rainforest sounds! Would highly recommend!

A week in paradise...

We enjoyed every aspect of our week at Casa Los Monos from morning coffee poolside listening to the birds to the quiet private evenings at our leisure. We felt safe and knew that should we need anything Emel was only a phone call away.... Only a short ride to the spectacular playa guiones with great surf and pristine beach was a highlight for us as well as the great choice of local restaurants. Our first visit but certainly not our last visit.

A sanctuary Casa Los Monos

I cannot put into words the pleasure we enjoyed in this very seductive location. The house has all of the amenities necessary to truly make your time there unique. The area is very private yet warm. The owner of this home is always ready to assist you with what ever you need. All inquiries are responded to promptly and with a great deal of courtesy. The local connection is a man who is always ready to do whatever it takes for you or in the alternative nothing at all it is all your choice. No pressure...none. The home is very clean and provided us with the perfect environment.

Amazing place!

We had a wonderful trip to casa los monos! Very beautiful house surrounded with luscious vegetation, in the middle of the jungle! We saw a lot of monkeys and other animals while relaxing on the beautiful terrasse...The owner and her manager were really caring. The only thing that was anoying was the internet connection, it was intermittent. But we recommand it and we will surely rent this house again!

A trip to remember

From the first conversation and phone call to the owners to the last good bye, it was just a home run! Our family took a 2 week vacation and did not know what to expect. The activities that were planned for us were perfect and they were able to change as the mood changed. Amazing waterfall ATV rides, sun rises, sunsets, surfing, hanging by the pool, having fresh costa ricin food cooked for you, monkeys over head, great jungle vide made our trip with a 18 year old and 15 year old life changing. Our day consisted of waking up to fresh coffee and breakfast being made, hanging in the pool and sunshine and then surfing which followed by the days activities. Everybody was happy, and relaxed. The house lent itself to a comfortable atmosphere filled with laughter, memories and everything you need! Perfect for a family that wants the privacy and family time. The location is perfect in its jungle setting. A trip that was life changing for us all.

Two weeks in heaven

For the price, this is a five star home. It is your own yoga retreat. I think of the house as perfectly clean, pretty, zen like, easy, well secured and laid out and just up the hill from all the activities such as restaurants, oceans, adventures, warm and friendly people. The management is there for you, if needed. The pool was a lovely temperature and just the right size. You could sit in it or float in it for hours just reading, being and watching the birds fly over head. The house has all modern conveniences in the middle of the jungle. When I think of the houses vibe I think of private, breezy, mysterious, tranquility, the sounds of the jungle, wild, free. It is a little slice of heaven..

Safe, secure, spacy

The home is nicer than the pictures depict. It was our second home on our Nicoya Peninsula tour and as we drove through the gates and looked down at the home and the pool, we were all in awe of the beautiful scene! The pool is wonderful. The home fit 5 of us easily, and man, two bathrooms were priceless. Air conditioning worked well and the security system is more than you'll find at most homes, so no worries there. In fact, the biggest challenge of our visit was accidentally setting off the system a few times. Plenty of towels for beach trips which was also super convenient. It is a drive away from town, but reasonable and convenient. (in fact, two guests walked from town, so it's not impossible) The home felt luxurious but was economic and comparable to other homes we stayed.

Excellent!

I loved every minute in Costa Rica and your house and we have you to thank. We could not have been more comfortable, from the house itself, to the pool, to the incredible assistance from Emel, to your advice in terms of things to do, and much, much more. It was perfect in every way. We have put together a journal which is a wonderful way to keep the experience and memories fresh. Probably the highlight of the week’s activities was the horseback riding with Emel. It was our last day and, having the experiences of the week to count on, we found that walking and trotting over the savanna, dust-free, was a real plus and a fitting way to end the week. I would also echo your zipline/canapy tour recommendation due to the exhilaration it induces and for the experience itself. We were very proud of ourselves to have surmounted the initial fear, figuring if 11 year olds can do it, so can we! Actually, now that I am writing this, I would have to name each and every experience as our favorite. You have a wonderful place and we felt very privileged being able to share it with you. Thank you again.

Costa Rica Get-Away

Had a spectacular time at Casa Los Monos! I just fell in love with the area and the locals. The owner was very helpful in setting up the trip including a rental car delivered to the house and a contact with a local guide, Emel, who was tremendously helpful. The house is comfortable and ideally located for access to the beach and local activities. The monkeys are ever present and will greet you early in the morning with their deep throated calls. I was here in the dry season, and the area is still lush and beautiful. The pool is a big plus and was used several times a day to cool off and relax. The local food was fantastic and plenty of food stores in the area to stock the refrigerator. The most relaxing and peaceful vacations I ever had. I highly recommend Casa Los Monos as a destination for your next vacation.

Wow!!! This house is super. The owner is extremely helpful. The property is in a beautiful location. We watched the monkeys swing from tree to tree. It's close to the market, yet has the peace and tranquility of a remote location. We loved our stay in a clean, neat and well furnished home. The pool is just outside the master bedroom and is beautiful. Great bathrooms and kitchen. We'd recommend Casa Los Monos to anyone with 7 or less people. Enjoy!!!!!

What a wonderful house in a tropical paradise! This new home was a beautiful place to call home for a week while visiting Nosara. The pool was so wonderful to go and swim after a great day of exploring and surfing. The kitchen had granite countertops and stainless steel appliances and was beautiful. The bathrooms were beautiful and had great showers. The other plus was listening to all of the monkeys and other animals in the rainforest! If you have kids, they will love this. You will need to have a rental car or an atv. Even though you are not far from town, this would be useful to have since you are up on a hill.

Beautiful Spot

Oh my gosh we loved it here. Many thanks to the family that owns Casa Los Manos. We felt right at home all week. The drive was short and the property is perfect for a family. Our kids loved it.
